Cant Believe i stay within 1.5 to 2km to most of these historical landmarks......i am greatfull to be born in Bangalore and as a kannadiga ❤
Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful old 😊memories
I`m from Kerala and my first visit to Bangalore was in 1984. Then I was in Bangalore from 1993 for studies and work and intermittently stayed there until 2000. Then I lived in Britain for almost a decade in 2000s.. As of today my last visit to Bangalore was in Jan 2009 when I traveled from London to Bangalore vv with the Bangalore based defunct Kingfisher airlines.
During my time in Bangalore I have extensively combed in and around the city and I enjoyed every moments. I love Bangalore and Kannada and even recently enjoyed watching a Kannada movie on TH-cam. I currently live in Australia I just can`t wait to visit Bangalore again..
Not sure about the dates of those photos, but thank you for bringing up my golden memories again.
It's pride and honour iam born in Bangalore Namm Benguluru❤🎉🎉
My father worked with the Britishers, he always used to share his experience working with them, he died at the age of 92 yrs.
How was he describing them
Were they friendly?
Winston Churchill's 1st posting was in Bangalore and he still has 33 rupees unpaid dues in Bangalore club. 😂
₹13 not 33. 😂 but it has been written off in the books of accounts.
@@BangaloreAviation oh ok 👍🏽
He went on to lead the UK in WW2.
How historical it is.
@@neelakantakr5866nothing historical, being proud of that mf
From where 😮u got this records 😅
Awesome
Great Video 👍
Just superb! My Bangalore.
Good one. A voice over instead of titles would have helped many senior citizens recognise some places. However Thanks for sharing
Nice to see Bangalore, with only the locals.now its hell on earth with all the northies.
That is not a nice thing to say. We Indians are the most racist people, we talk such rubbish about our own country people, however we can’t tolerate when racism is showered on us when living in the West. Every Indian has the right to choose where one wants to live within the country. I’m an Indian who hails from the South, however without the Northies, no work would happen in our cities. Come to Hyderabad and you will understand what I mean, housing construction etc is done by the northies because South Indian guys are busy drinking and always get involved in family parties only to postpone the given work. This North/South divide is a thing specially curated by our South Indian politicians to keep the divide always intact. If you are educated and have common sense, that school of thought should be eliminated. We all are from Bharat and that’s one thing to keep in mind, respect each other please. The real culprits who ruined your city are the politicians and the real estate mafia, you better curse them instead of cursing people who are tirelessly working on metro construction sites etc.
@@Metalrocks23 really ? It was the shameless uneducated smelly northies who used to discriminate south indian people 'calling us madrasi' . South Indians didn't create this divide it was created by your beloved Hindi belt.
@@Metalrocks23what he said is a fact.. But the way he put it is not appropriate ..!!
No objection to hate colonial rule, but we should not be blind to the wonderful buildins they built. They are well planned, strong and long lasting. More than all they produced most of our early wise men and brilliant brains who helped to shape independent india
You are wrong. In fact we all informed with lies. Check facts. Mysuru maharaja paid them. It was all built by Kannada people. Even paid out of Kannada tax payers money. Brits salary & pensions were also paid by Kannada people. Look at temples in Mysuru & rest of Karnataka temples are standing with over 800 years. Brits & Islamic invaders just looted material knowledge (& claimed it is thr own invention!) & destroyed.
@@tsrini68Who built the railways? Kannada people? It was the Italian workers and many from other countries who constructed the railways system, constructed many buildings including the museum, lady curzon hospital.
@@bc9629That makes no sense. Why would import labour when they had local slave labour. It take a few guidance workers to train domestic labour. A few supervisory labour leads may have been brought.
But the vast majority of Indian raliways were laid by using Indian labour
@@shivasrinivasan80 there were a lot of nuisances at that time, one language barriers, local Indian caste system issues. Almost 30-40% were foreign workers'
@@bc9629 Dams, Hospitals. IISc, Universities, Banks, factories like steel, paper, lamps, paints, soaps, etc railways with over 300 km, & list continues were all built well before 1950s in Mysuru Rashtra ... and all by Kannadigas. Karntaka would have been developed country by 1960s if Centre not snatched away rights of locla. Read Visheveshwaraya bio pic that is available openly. Just see France population, they are global leaders in Aviation, wines, cheese, cuisines, fashion, Railways, Space, nuclear, etc

Very good video. A good lot of it are my childhood memories. Now a lot of it have vanished due to various reasons. But nice to see those days frozen in a photo frame.
I completely relate! These places have become so overcrowded and chaotic now. You can't even pause to appreciate the beauty without risking being hit by a speeding autorickshaw or taxi. It's impossible to fully take in the sights without feeling rushed and worried about your safety.
We see some these buildings still standing. I wish Banglore was still the same . But its crowded 😢
@@ashutoshyadav7385Then why are you living in Bangalore? Go to Bihar or Rajasthan then
Wish the British and the Great Mysore kings had never left us! Such clean roads, sprawling Bunglows, most outstanding British Architecture with Indian brilliant engineers building them, tree lined roads...Large gardens! Serene calm lakes and lanes, most gorgeous Churches, No traffic, No pollution! Everything is so spic and span! No high rise apartment and fancy glass offices! What an era that must have been! Wish there was a time machine to go back in times to these days! Bangalore my good old Banglore ❤ Good old Mysore still has this charm! Thanks to the Greay Wodeyars who were also friends with the Anglican counter part!
and still a slave !
Only a sold-out colonial slave could say such a thing. Well done! Your church masters will be extremely proud
Beautiful Bengaluru ❤
old Bangalore was heaven. There was no water scarcity no mosquitoes were there temperature was cool
Super ❤
Nostalgia 🥲
They must have removed lots of trees to build this Bengaluru. Much have been replanted. That is good news.
Yes that is true. The britishers planted many trees along the well planned roads. You will see also in Delhi. Sadly in bangalore many of these 200 300 yr old trees have been cut down to widen roads and make shopping malls.😢
Beautiful buildings build by the Britishers. Victoria Hospital not shown.
Victoria, Minto, KC General, and Vani Vilas was built by our Maharaja.
❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉 ನಮ್ಮ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ನಮ್ಮ ಹೆಮ್ಮೆ ❤❤❤🎉🎉
Nice
Britishers dint make bangalore beautiful it was already a beautiful place and all the land given by Mysore maharajas to british
Land was not given it was conquered by British in war. British gave royal purse to the maharajas and let them stay in their own palace and rule under their command. Truth always prevails.
Then who built all the parks, hospitals, colleges, military cantonments etc. those still exist today
@@Stallion_1044😂building parks is not achievement you f**l......your f**king hospitals are far behind the Ayurveda... And the military bases are built to protect themselves, it's not development, do you understand motherf***ng bast**d? 😂
@@Stallion_1044 Indian Labourers under British pay
@@Stallion_1044What colleges and parks? Bangalore was a village until the 1980s. All the colleges that exist in Bangalore were built after independence. IIM Bangalore was built after independence.

Th u sir.
Please include archival photographs of the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, Established in 1909.
Dil hoom hoom karne lagaa . Bahut umdah aur khubsurat
Cubbon park is the best
👏
You did not mention Bishop Cottons school. It was built in 1865.
The last one is not 'The Old Bell', it is one of the four boundary towers built by the then King of Bengaluru Sri Magadi Kempe Gowdaru. One of the towers shown here is built on the rock of Lalbagh Garden. As a child, I used to climb up to the tower.
Just mention Bangalore between this year till this year and remove the word British India
It was the Mysore Kings who developed Bangalore and in fact the entire Mysore Kingdom(8 districts of Southern Karnataka). It was not the Brits or anybody else. See the contribution of Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wodeyar. Its unfortunate to learn about the misinformation even with the immigrant local population. Please do some research before commenting.
Many in comments section are grateful for British for building the city infrastructure , dear people's they built for their own selfish reasons not because they loved Benguluru and its people , and for what they have plundered it is justified , we still think that we wouldn't have survived without colonialism , what a tragedy!!
Yes bitter truth.. 🙄
You are 100% correct dear. I totally agree with you 👍
You wouldn't even love the person a mile away and you expect them to love you. That was a different age,of kings and queens. Get out of your head.
The british did a wonderful job in all their colonies. That is why none of their former subjects hate them. Democracy has become a curse on india. Bangalore has become a polluted, unlivable slum thanks to democracy.
Thanks to the Britishers... their legacy still lingers around after so many years. So proud and feel warmth in our Cantonment area where we have been living. ❤
Your name is enough to reveal why you’re so grateful to your slave-masters 😂
No need to be that proud; if they would be able to transport the buildings along with the looted things , they would have done it!! They could not!! They took whatever able to , and left people poor!! Still after many years people are poor!! You can give many reasons for it!! But surely invasion tops the list!!
Grateful to the British for making Bengaluru so beautiful
Not one Kannad nahi pata people around 😂
It seems to be very funny for you, but it is natural to be proud to the clan you belong to, could be nationality, language or religion

Good old days of bangalore.. Bbmp has turned green city to garbage.. With much pathetic infrastructure..

Reminds slavery. Our own people worked for British and oppressed freedom fighters.

It's bengaluru and not bangalore
It was Bangalore back then
It was always Bengaluru in Kannada signboards and documents of the Kingdom of Mysore back then.
They tasted Indian idli hala
After British left and ibdians took over Bangalore became a stinking law less traffic and concrete jungle... What do you expect from Indian administration.???
Keep the government aside.
What will you expect from the general public??? Eating drinking at all places, dirty the whole place. Urinate, shit at all places, these muslims cutting animals on the road, wherever you find muslim houses or muslim shops there will be garbage thrown all over the locality, with all types of law & order problems and criminal activities in that localities, then what else happens if not this.
How much was the population that time!?? Now more!! British left India very poor, they trained Indian people to be corrupt, so what do you expect???
@@prakashkoovekal8234 You are bang on my dear. They sucked all our blood to make their crown stronger. Pity we still have their slaves creating nuisance here in our country.
