Thanks. Great video. Quick comment on arrow rotation. My string is twisted clockwise and I'm a right handed shooter. My bare shafts rotate right. So, easy to shoot a bare shaft with a mark on the nock before fletching your arrows.
Absolutely! Definitely have to test it as nothing is always 100%. This is just a general rule of thumb for most set ups. 👍🏻

This will be my 🎄 gift ..already told the book keeper. Let me ask a question in the interim please…bow shop swapped on my Hoyt the left/right rubber (washers ?) because I wasn’t getting a good bullet hole tear. After all was said and done they believed it was me torquing the bow. Now I’m hitting bullet holes after changing my grip. My bow sync was not checked. If I check the sync and the top or bottom is not touching the cable should I leave it alone or ….
Now I wait until Christmas to look at the tutorial like I promised my wife. Merry Christmas

Don't know why most bow techs don't pre-cut D-loops (such as 4.5") and pre-mushroom melt the ends. It makes the D-loop size highly repeatable (stretch is hard to predict your way), speeds up the process as many can be prepared ahead of time and no trial and error, and completely avoids risk of string flame damage from cutting and melting after tying the D-loop.
As a bow tech you can absolutely do that too. The main problem you will run into is that the length will be different for everyone’s set up based on their own personal preferences and release that they choose to shoot. (Some folks prefer shorter or longer d-loops)
For your own set up, you really only need to tie a d-loop on more than once or twice a year so it’s not saving much time to pre-cut the lengths.
Stretching with the pliars pulls it tighter than drawing it back with a release and if done as shown in the video, there is no stretch giving you the exact length that you desire every time.
You can also undo the last knot after cutting to burn away from the string if you are concerned of flame damage to the string, but it is not necessary as the flame burns up away from the string.
There is always more than one way of doing things, but the way shown will get you a perfect d-loop every time.
Super super clear explanations. Is the potential disparity between "in sync" and "in time" due to d loop position?. I.E. for a pair of cams with timing marks exact, the only way they couldn't be in sync is if the d loop isn't pulling from dead centre?

D-loop position does affect cam sync, although the disparity that I am referring to is more or less string and cable length issues causing the cams to not be in the correct rotational positions at rest while still being able to be in “sync” at full draw. Having the timing holes aligned should always get your sync close, but should be no substitute for adjusting a cable for cam sync at full draw.
IF a binary cam system has timing marks exactly perfect, the only reason they should not be in sync is if you are not pulling from dead center like you said.
For a further explanation, timing holes are more or less used as a guideline, similar to just measuring the axle to axle and brace height measurements to ensure your string and cables are at the right length, ultimately putting your cams in the right timing position. Any additional adjustment needed to put your cams in sync at full draw after you time your cams will be minimal enough that your cams are still in “time” after the adjustments required to put the cams in sync.
Ultimately, cam timing is where the cams sit at rest and is more or less a small range that the cams can be in, while sync must be exact. If the cables and string are way too short or way too long causing the cams to each be way under or over rotated, your cams are not in time, but could still be in sync at full draw. You want to set your string and cables lengths to achieve the correct cam timing position before testing for sync. Any adjustments to the cables required for cam sync will be minimal enough that it will not put the timing of your cams off.

Only thing is add maybe missed it I wouldn’t tune the bow without the stabilizers, weights and sight your intending to use. I can manipulate a bareshaft by simply adjusting the back bar left right or adding weight etc… also tons more details in there for bareshaft tuning. This is a great starting point though.

So many people i want to send this video to,I've been saying that in sync and in time are 2 different things for a long time but I keep getting the same response, as long as your cams are hitting at the same time that's all that matters and I would ask what are timing mark's there for decoration. I don't even go to"pro shops" any more, i bought a press and do the work on my bow myself, I think that there's hardly any decent shops here in Australia ended up being a blessing anyway sick vid mate.

One of my bows has a clockwise twist in the string and it’s throwing clockwise. I’ve also shoot 2 different bare shafts from the same bow and had one spin each way
Totally possible! I’ve never seen it where different arrows spin different directions, but I don’t doubt it.

Another 100% truth not a lot of people pay attention to that stuff and see what I'm saying you got to put this stuff out here I actually started a TH-cam channel I got a few different videos I'm about to load just on archery stuff people don't understand Lancaster done a video showing in high speed that the arrow literally stops in mid flight and then the fletchings corrected and spin it back to the right so he clocked off of the bow actually left but then the fletchings took over about 15-20 ft after it left the bow and arrow
100% I believe they last way longer I build my own strings and it's just honestly it's a lot easier also in my eyes now the other way may be more how do I say this durable but not durable as far as like it may be a stronger knot to hold the stream together and not literally not but serve also you got to watch manufacture strings because they will stretch like a big dog so I would have my strings built to their spec that's for that bow but not to the string link that is on thatbow
When melting serving ends on the string, I do several things to prevent heat damage to string/cable. Wrap local string area in layers of aluminum foil, wax the serving for better hold, blue part of the flame from above, and allow end burn/melt on its own (no need to chase it with the flame). Watching you do it without these precautions makes me cringe.
