This fully animated video of the Philippine National Anthem is NHCP and ROCK ED RADIO's gift to all Filipinos to mark the nation's 114th Independence Day.

Symbolism of the sequences (for those curious):
0:06 - 0:20 - The Philippine flag and its appearances in nature (the setting sun over a clear sky)
0:26 - 0:37 - The arrival of the Malays in the Philippine Islands, the ancestors of the modern Filipinos. The ships that they were in were called "balanghai" or "balangay" and are cognates to the modern Filipino word "barangay," the smallest administrative subdivision of government.
0:40 - 0:46 - The romanticized representation of Inang Bayan (the Motherland) as a young lady. They are in a boat, echoing their ancestors, and are boy is engaged in "kundiman" or a romantic song with her.
0:47 - 0:56 - The Philippine Revolution against the Spanish.
0:57 - 1:08 - The Bataan Death March, which pitted Filipino and American soldiers in a march from Bataan to Capas, Tarlac, after they were defeated by the Japanese in World War II. The Philippines was the last Allied country to have fallen in the Pacific Theater.
1:09 - 1:17 - The foothills of Mayon Volcano, known as the only stratovolcano with an almost perfectly-shaped cone.
1:17 - 1:22 - Family with child. This goes in sync with the last line of the song "ang mamatay nang dahil sa'yo" (literally along the lines of "for it is to die for you"). Either this goes to the child (to die for his/her brighter future), or to the original intention of the song, that is, to gladly die for the country.
We have declared independence from the Spaniards, Americans and even the Japanese. Now it's time to declare independence from our own greedy selves, from the widespread indifference of our country's future and from the belief that we cannot go beyond our present, decrepit situation. We have a long way to go but I believe we're on our path to the future we dream for our children. Happy Independence Day, my dear Filipinas! :)

I was expecting this video to be more patriotic. un bang nakakaiyak sa pagka proud na pinoy ka. un bang pag napanood mo eh mapapa isip ka na ipaglalaban mo ang pilipinas.
ang video sa unang tingin eh di mo agad maiintindihan... kasi pilit mo inihahambing ang mga lyrics at pictures, that eventually hindi magkabagay.

Hindi ko alam kung sadya bang walang mga bayani at pangulo sa video na ito. And i found it great. the message was clear, our freedom was won not just by the known heroes (Rizal, Bonifacio, Aguinaldo, Quezon, Ninoy, etc), moreover, it was a victory of the masses. Ang taong bayan ang binibigyang parangal dito. Dahil sila ang tunay na mga bayani at lumaban para sa kasarinlan :))
