Sorry but we don't need 'progress'. We need to go back to Traditions and simple living
The opposite of progress is Congress
ABSOFUCKINLUTLEY. Ther type of progress is not progress anyway
We need to move forward and actively bring back the Old Traditions. We can never truly go backwards. Part of the history we much now teach is That One Time We Almost Fell To Communism.
We stopped leaving the garage remote in our car that is on the driveway. Thanks y'all.

The country will tear itself apart this November.
The chaos will start/ramp up in August.

Simple...they dont even have enough money to pay their bills
If you have an alarm system... USE IT..! Most folks get to feeling comfortable and don't use it after a while

What about a dedicated phone just for that?

I have stocked up on wasp spray,25ft range so the wasps dont get me,I have cans everywhere.😎
Thinking about buying this last can of bear spray 😆
Its very effective, I once got a very, very slight mist blowback on my eyes and i went down!
I get what your goal is for self defense but read the lable on that can. There are federal laws that will put you in prison for using that for a defensive weapon. Not trying to give you a hard time abpout it but I would go for the strongest pepper spray money can buy. Wasp spray is a toxic chemical that can poison someone.
Good idea.
I need some "bug" spray too!!!
Three days ago someone tried to break into my locked car that was in my car port. They did not get the doors open but they pulled so hard I have my car in the shop to repair the handles which now will not even open! I say also install a security camera which I am now working on, ugh.

By "we" i mean "the group" loose knit people whe care.
I hear people going on about bear spray. My understanding is that bear spray is actually not as potent as say, Sabre or Pom pepper spray. Bears have an incredible sense of smell. Bear spray is meant to drive a bear off without causing permanent damage. Therefore it doesnt need to be as strong as pepper spray for humans. If something is strong enough to cause a hard reset on a guy who's been smoking crack all night. Imagine what it'd do to a bear with a sense of smell thats like 100 times more sensitive.
Some people can walk right through pepper spray. I personally wouldnt trust life with bear spray.
Unless its used on a bear.
Copper jacketed lead spray is highly effective.

The insurance companies do have a ton of cash. Think of all the months we pay with no claims.
Maybe they used to save that up for disasters, investing so as to be able to pay claims. Now they pay the stockholders and way too much to some elitist CEO, then cry that they need more money, because it is increasingly all about quarterly profits.
And they still up your rates
@@HorseRadish403 I agree. they need to keep their nice lifestyle. We have to have it so they can almost charge whatever they want or raise the price when they want.
Negative. Many California insurance companies went belly up from the 1989 earthquake, and that was very local and few homes destroyed.
Actually, the cash is invested in short term government bonds. Prey that the bond market does not collapse. So there is no piles of cash, just amount to pay 6 months of bills.
A Razor scooter type scooter in your car can get you places fast, on the road, if you have to abandon your car. It also folds up small and can be carried easily. Much faster than hiking on pavement
Great idea!
Crazy smart Dave! I never thought of that.
Good idea!
That’s genius for a very confined space but if you have a bit more space, a BMX or folding bike would get you to places quieter, faster and easier. Not to mention they’re a bit safer than scooters if you need to go on a less than favourable surface.

Is there anyway you can address what type of preparations you can have in place for something happening while your kids are in school? The preparedness community doesn’t often include preparations for families with younger kids. What type of conversations do we have? What type of plans do you make (that are reasonable and possible) for young kids that are 10+ miles away from home? I’ve been homeschooling my daughter and she’s heading back to school this summer and I’m wondering how to prepare us both. 🤷♀️
Well, you broke MY answer which was homeschool. 🤷♀️

The best prep I just got is a well. Endless supply of water is reassuring.
If you have bumper stickers that support guns, your car is far more likely to be broken into. Remove those bumper stickers and the evidence that you had a bummer sticker.
Also, at your home, check the screws in your door hinges. The screw that come with hinges are very short and weak. If you need to replace them, make sure that your new screw is at least 2.5 inches or longer and make sure you have Shims built up behind it so that the new screw has something to bite into and hold. Get a strike plate for your door to keep eople from trying to destroy your door to get in. These tips may not stop someone but you will have time to call the cops or others for help!
I think that FEMA will check storage units.

STORAGE UNITS:
I prepared to set one up with a camp chair, cot, battery-operated lamp, luggable loo, small radio, food & water, if I needed to take refuge for a few hours, plus store resources (if I had been able to accumulate any), BUT the manager of the storage unit, not knowing my ideas, said as soon as there is any civil unrest, storage units are locked down to everyone, gates locked, total shut down, no one in, no one out, no retrieval, so I didn't do it.

I'm 65. Here's some of my plan. (long post)
First, is the mind game. No fear allowed. Become the grey man. Reduce what you think you "need" and get your mind ready. Prep like these guys say (2 week supply for bugging in.). If you just can't stay like a fire...
Best to leave the city before things get too rough. This is the last resort bugout plan. You will be camping outside.
2. Find the closest wetland/park. Take walks and learn that land. This is the temporary bug-out site if your apt is no longer safe and you have no where else to go. Your car is not safe. Wetlands are where you can find edibles and fresh water. Pro-tip: Stock up on bug spray.
3. Get a book on foraging. Learn it while you walk the land. Learn what is a good toilet paper substitute. Pro tip: Lambs Ear-Yes, Mullen-NO! Johnny Appleseed some veggies in the wetland.
4. Find your go to hiding spot where you will gather your bearings. Make a nest/shelter, sit there and get used to it.
5. ->Do this once the police stop coming out for gunfire calls but before the tap water is off.-> Get a short metal trash can with a lid and dig a deep hole and hide back up supplies like gloves, a tarp, water filter straws, weather blankets, rain gear-and a paper map. The ground is soft and it's not hard to dig a hole.
All this will take time but once you start you will learn what you want to modify for your situation. This is long but I hope it gives you some ideas. Fear is your enemy. Preparing makes you confident.❤
I live in the GSP area and I don't worry about the people around me as much as the people passing by to get away from Greenville and Spartanburg.

How many people grow a real vegetable garden at home anymore? I imagine it’s less than 10%
I grow my own vegetables, I don't have a BIG space, but I grow enough for two people....
I would say less than 1%
That's crazy. Anyone can grow some vegetables in cardboard boxes, flower pots, and long planters. Whatever vegetables or fruits you eat the most of during summer and fall grow it. Specially herbs, just grow the herbs or the healing herbs dry in the sun. But you can grow more than you think just in containers. Where I live if they don't have a garden, they have containers growing vegetables and fruits.
We got drive way alarms around property and its fenced /gated and locked and 12ft concrete walls up in front and cameras and dogs and other things all for security of property. We have barbwire and other deterrents in our woods . Also cameras in front and back of vehicles with spray and other security tools in vehicle. We live in rd off any main rds and at end of dead in hidden in rural area.
We can do a lot WE THE PEOPLE DID IT ONCE BEFORE. ITS COMES DOWN TO HOW DESPERATE THINGS GET AND IF PEOPLE ARE MOTIVATED TO DO WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE
Things are getting kinda crazy.
