I was so addicted to this game when I was a kid. I played it a hundred times. Took me forever, and to see it played in just over an hour here kinda makes me sad :(
Is anyone other than myself disappointed that they decided to reboot both Robocop and do Terminator Genisys rather than make a Robocop vs. Terminator film?
Shin Akumaforu Yeah, I felt the resources weren't well spent. Robocop and Terminator franchises at this point could use a crossover, or at least a re-release in theaters like they used to do. I wouldn't mind watching T2 or T1 in theaters with the audio experience.
suemorphplus2009 I remember when I was kid at the boys and girl club an they had Robocop come there I got to shake his hand lol I thought it was cool being a kid an all lol. You should check in your area for like a movie and dinner theater they might have show it eventually. Don't here in Atlanta we have movie and dinner theater where they show old movies from the 80s and 90s. I remember seeing Beverly hills cop and Rambo first blood there several months ago. Havent seen no listing for the t1 or t2 yet.
If they were going to do it they should have done it in 1993. Then we wouldn’t have gotten Robocop 3 and Arnold wouldn’t have done Last Action Hero, so everybody would have won.
It's been years since I last played this, but I remember it being insanely difficult. One of these days I'm gonna plug it back in again after watching this a few times.
Rodimus I agree that it would make a great movie. I actually had a chance to read the comics where I believe the entire idea come from. Its one of the few games I never knew, but wish I could have played.
Rodimus You have a point. I mean they did a Alien vs. Predator movie and there were games before that, and they even did a horror crossover, Freddy vs. Jason, despite that one not having a game. They made a great game for Robocop vs. Terminator, so why not a movie?
Sad problem is different owners. You might not know this, but the there was an earlier attempt to create Alien vs. Predator movie around the 1980s and 1990s (read it in a magazine), roughly around the time when the first crossover video game from the old Super Nintendo game system, but the problem originally came from its two owners who could not agree on anything until lately. There been games and comics over the years, but the movies took the longest. Same problem with Terminator and Robocop, two different companies, and the fact that I am betting that nobody has actually thought up the idea and presented to the owners.
I really like how 'intelligent' the Terminators behave in this game, especially in the OCP levels in which they shine as almost unstoppable killing machines. It was rare to see such a level of AI in a platform-shooter at the time.
@@youtubeadmin1588 No, he's right. It was very rare back then for an enemy to be able to chase you to the degree the Terminators could. Going up ladders, using poles--much more advanced than the usual AI of mindlessly pacing back and forth.
Same. If they had the levels, music and cutscenes of SNES combined with the voices, speed and blood of the Genesis, with the guns of both, it’d be perfect.
this game is nightmare fuel, so much creepier and darker than the gen version, which had too much of that "radicalness" that comes from SEGA. it was more arcade than story (which could only be read at the end). notable things about the SNES version: field of terminators was epic!!! this was also based entirely off the comic. it's a better production, much more difficult too. the music stage 1 and 3 are my favs by far, but 4th song has some off sync beats that don't quite work... but was still part of the atmosphere in its tones. the songs deserve a remix.
20:15 Holy crap, this is the most condensed and sad video game cutscene ever. "Well, everyone you is going to die, it's your fault, and you're going to watch your own robo-hands do it too. For YEARS." Poor Murphy! :'-(
Zip Zipow like your life. Genesis version is very good. SNES is decent. NES version is decent too. Game Gear/MS and Gameboy are the worst version. Dumbass
Genesis version was more violent SNES version had better music. But you had to love the SNES box for this game. It was a 3D embossed plastic cover Robocop versus Terminator that went over the cardboard box the game came in. Was pretty sick..
+Ruby Williams Anti UTTP I took it as trollish because you left the same exact message to 3 other people in this comment section. And yes SNES was the superior console. I still own my 25 year old SNES and still play it.
I remember beating this game like 22 years ago or so (mega drive). i knew every "secret way", but it took me at least two weeks to finish the game. 1 hour is fast dude :)
Robocop: "Freeze! I suggest you use the right to remain silent, Before I show your gobot ass some Detroit violence. I'm like an X-Wing commander; I stay on target. I take over these streets like I'm a farmer's market."
because it's true. i personally think snes version has more polished graphics especially robocop's idle motion with pistol, but genesis version has better gameplay.
Ruby Williams Anti UTTP i really wonder if you played both, or you are just praising the snes version because of graphics with comic-based cutscenes or just because it's on nintendo's console. But if you like sadistic difficulty with unresponsive controls i can understnad you.
Ruby Williams Anti UTTP also, if you played both versions and thought snes version is better, just tell the detailed reason why you thought snes version was better compared to genesis version. Not only That would make more sence and get more sympathy to other people than just saying snes is better, but also it wouldn't make you are like a nintendo fanboy. The reason why i thought genesis version is better is because of its more satisfying gameplay. Snes version have better graphics as well as decent stories with cutscenes that follows the original comics, which is the positive point for comic-based game. However, the gameplay which is the most important part of videogame is not as good as genesis version. There are lots of annoying traps in the levels, but robocop's control isn't so good that it's very hard to response unless you memorize everything. also, the health decreases so fast but there are not so many health items in the entire levels. and you have to restart the level if you die. The genesis version lacks of story and cutscenes, but gameplay is better. The control is definitely better, and weapons are more powerful and faster. also you don't have to restart the level even if you die unless you lose every lives. to addition, genesis version is more Violent, which is the positive point for robocop/terminator game.
I would really like to see a new Robocop vs Terminator game, either first person or third person, but based on the first two Terminator movies and the first Robocop movies. I would love to see how near present day Detroit and futuristic post judgment day L.A. (and Cheyenne mountain if Skynet is physically installed there) would look like in 3D. It should not be an open sandbox game but an action/action-adventure with a lot of freedom for the players to explore, with many primary and secondary missions. But outside fans I think such a project if it would ever happen would be mishandled.
Now, if the SNES version let you resurrect on the spot every time you die (like in Genesis) instead of having to restart the whole section, it would be a lot less difficult, and more fun.
I remember playing this back in 94 or 95 for the first time and it was the shit!!! I was so excited to play this game but never got to finish it. I always thought this game was really hard!
some cool lighting and background animations, but apart from that, Mega Drive/Genesis is my favourite still. Better pace, tighter controls, darker and violent with lots of blood (it is based on two violent movies, so it should have it), and I prefer the sound on the SEGA machine
+trustobey1016 Indeed. I had no idea why the Genesis version's final boss was a giant T-800 head until I watched the SNES version. The Genesis version is just a giant sprite of a metal Terminator head, no electrical waves, or any indication it's the CPU core. While I think the Genesis is superior overall... that certainly is its weakest point.
After playing both, I prefer the Genesis version. Better music, better gameplay and great graphics (for the console). It's not a particularly long or challenging game, but it's fun!
Awesome game play. I never they had made a Robocop vs Terminator on the SNES. I mostly played it on the Sega Mega Drive. The music is so awesome in this game. I hope when they make a movie RoboCop verius Terminator they will have some awesome screen shots, graphics, and special effects that will top the last terminator films. Thanks for the upload Silenig I can not wait to see more of your game plays.
The only way they'll be able to revitalize the terminator franchise at this point. Genisys will probably be awful. Terminator vs robocop. Place your bets
I wish I had this game the Terminator would be NO match for RoboCop survivability from the Movies are completely obvious. RoboCop fell from a skyscraper onto a gas main which exploded and he was okay. Terminator was blown up by a homemade pipe bomb. RoboCop pushed a building busting bomb into a warehouse that was solid brick then blew up in his face and he was fine. Terminator was obliterated by the same kind of explosion. RoboCop stop and reversed a 3000 PSI hydraulic press with his hands and survived. Terminator was crushed into sheet metal. Plus RoboCop's arsenal has more destructive fire power, with his Auto-9, Weapon Arm, Tactical Ordnance grenades and his Cobra Assault Cannon and being part human he can think more creatively a function the Terminator can not immediately understand. Watch Screw Attack Death Battle it shows the details.
This quote was taken from ScrewAttack - who is biased and makes their preferred character win. If that was a terminator Robocop was fighting - then the fuel cells would detonate in 3 seconds - not 50.
I think you're forgetting Robocop is the hero and terminator is the villain, thus Robocop has to be indestructible because it wouldn't be much of a film if the hero got blown up by a bomb vice versa terminator can't be indestructible because Kyle Reece has to blow it up (it doesn't actually kill the terminator it is still alive until Sarah Connor crushes it) so John Connor can be born so we can have a film. You're also forgetting there is an unknown amount of terminators and upgrades to be sent back. Ultimately Robocop sucks major balls and an at of terminators would destroy him.
It would've been so cool if they'd had the first level end like in the comic where the girl kills robocop only for skynet to send the terminators and then you have to redo the first level but this time it ends with her being shot down before she could destroy robo

Cannot explain why the SNES version is so bad compared to the Genesis. In my opinion, Genesis games always looked better minus the limited colour pallet, the sprites were generally just drawn a lot better. If the Genesis had the SNES's colour palette and sound channel capability, I think it would have blown the SNES out of the water. SNES games always looked like 8-BIT sprites with better colours and effects, whereas Genesis actually looked like 16-BIT games. The art direction and execution always just looked better with a few exceptions (bad Mortal Kombat ports spring to mind). That's my opinion anyway.
For this, it was using one sidearm and one firearm. The default is of course the Auto-9 and its plasma pistol variant as it would be found in the Delta City construction site and be used in the future. The ED-209 cannon gives some good firepower while the rocket launcher provides more destructive strength in the present levels. In the future, the plasma rifle gives good direct fire while the seeker launcher pretty much gives you an autolock on anything in sight but you got to turn around so often so you can have all your sides covered. The combo rifle does work best in the future if you want to use grenades to knock down some endos with some plasma fire.
Mega Drive version was better for music, sound, guns where better, level design looked better. It didn't have a full in-depth story like the SNES version either as you see with the comic strip story board. But I think the game was just a pick and play get into it fast shooting game on the MD
never figured out the image shown after Robocop plugs in to OCP. Is it rockets under his feet and he flies like superman or some crane thing that spits fire??

I'm like an X-Wing commander cause I stay on target
I take over these streets like I'm a farmers market
I wonder where the Cyberdyne research went
That they couldn't fix your funky Hans and Franz accent
They sent you back to kill a child, but he's defeating you still
They should have made a time-travelling morning after pill
And I didn't think I had any feelings left inside me
But my heart was surely broken after Terminator 3
I'm RoboCop, and I got the flow to beat roided out C-3PO
I got the mic control like alt delete
Your move, creep
[Terminator]
Wrong
I have detailed files on the conclusion of your trilogy
That movie failed Detroit worse than the automotive industry!
I am T-800 Cyberdyne Systems Model 101
And I'll be sweeping up your robo-bits like paperclips when I'm done
My rapping attack is a massive dispatch of bazookas and gats and grenades
That rapidly bashes your brains and dismantles that puny peashooter that fits in your leg
We're not the same
You peel away my perfect skin you find super computers
You look like Krang wearing a cold-pressed juicer
They left off your balls when your suit was created
[Ellen Murphy]
I still love you, Alex
[Terminator]
Bullshit!
Your sex life is terminated
Based on my detailed analysis of the lyrical structure of battle raps
It's time for your next shit verse, and then I'll be back
[RoboCop]
You don't know love, you don't know honor
You only know a programmed robot boner for John Connor
(Uh!) OCP gave me the skills to wreck this
I can't help it if I'm fresh
It's my prime directive
[Terminator]
I'll punch through your face hole and rip out your vocal chords
Then mail your space helmet back to Geordi La Forge!
[RoboCop]
Nice try, but I'm too quick on the draw
What can go wrong for you will, creep; Murphy's Law
[Terminator]
Chill out, dick wad, your emotions are wrecking your flow
I couldn't find a decent rhyme in your line if I was in search mode
You're too slow, I blow more steam through machines than a barista
It's Judgement Day, baby; Hasta la vista
I loved this game.
When I saw this I was like there is no way this is real...Look it up on amazon and OH MY GOD ITS REAL!
There is a hq to and is great
I miss this game
buen videojuego soy fan de los 80s games
Idk why but i think,it's hilarious when you shoot terminators off the ledges
GENESIS
+1
Genesis is for babies.
I'd kill to play this game again, along with Judge Dredd, Maui Mallard, ... or Power Rangers
I haven't played this game in years maybe decades but I seem to remember running out of ammo and getting injured.
Was there any substantial difference between the weapons?
For this, it was using one sidearm and one firearm. The default is of course the Auto-9 and its plasma pistol variant as it would be found in the Delta City construction site and be used in the future. The ED-209 cannon gives some good firepower while the rocket launcher provides more destructive strength in the present levels. In the future, the plasma rifle gives good direct fire while the seeker launcher pretty much gives you an autolock on anything in sight but you got to turn around so often so you can have all your sides covered. The combo rifle does work best in the future if you want to use grenades to knock down some endos with some plasma fire.
its sucks that you don't get to fight kain in this version
It did try to stick to the original comic.
U mean RoboCain?
now we want robocop vs predator and terminator vs aliens
They need to remake RvT over again and make it an FPS game.
Something is wrong, with this game doesn"t pump you up like the genesis version. Lame music and too slow, easy win for the genesis version!!!!
Snes doesn't bother with shitty games.
When I had this game I thought there was a movie of it too.
Where is the Blood?

Никогда не нравились эти огромные герои на треть экрана в сега и снес. Дальний фон добротный.
16 bit system is eye candy
