Nothing sounds better then a classic Kawasaki carbureted, air cooled four with a great big four into one, honkin chrome Kerker exhaust on it. But the huge, water cooled, racing, v twins sound like a Chevy V8 with racing cam in it, driving away. What a sound. I like the deep bass sound of the R1 too. That Tuono does sound great, Yam. Great job.
I like the look of the height mount exhaust personally and eventually plan to get the extrema underbelly which I don't think would either fit or look good with a low mount. But yes they make great exhausts imo. Would love to see some photos or clips
Little update for the haters, been a little over a month with my first bike (2021 cbr600rr)). Never mentioned this but I grew up racing 2 strokes. love the bike, feeling comfortable and at home with the controls, 400 miles in with no incidents or anything to write home about. Super happy with the purchase!

Super sharp bike! Exhaust makes a HUGE difference in the personality of that bike! I’d probably choose a Streetfighter V2 over this just because it looks more aggressive & has more power, this probably falls more comparable to a Monster & if I had to choose, I’d take a Monster because they’ve been around longer & well, the Ducati name 👌🏼
The Tuono’s the truest naked sports bikes. They’re basically the original Street Fighter ethos…a proper sports bike with handlebars and slightly different fairings. A “naked” rs660. It’s not required to make the most soulless Z650 bike with the most soulless 650 p twin in existence with zero fairings just to qualify as a naked.
Ecu is actually I Safe spot. They have been putting it in the same location on multiple modes for years. I have a Shiver 750 and have put 54k of fun into the bike since buying it new in 2015
The first time I heard a parallel twin was a Honda 305 Super Hawk and a 250 Hawk. That's when I fell in love with the sound. I mean I love the sound of my V-twin VTX but you can't beat the sound of 305 Hawk or an XS 650 Yamaha, 350 or 450 Honda, among others.
I'd argue that the R1/MT10 is probably one of, if not my favourite sounding motorcycle. I'm excited to see (or hear lol) what the new twins from Honda and Suzuki sound like with aftermarket pipes😁 edit: I'm also a simp for triples, mt09 & speed/street triples 😊

It sounds great. For a p-twin. For me an inline 4 is the best sound out of a bike in general. Yes I like it even better than the v4. But I'm a squid I guess. 🤷♂️

The direction pistons are pointed has as much to do with twin-cylinder sounds as clutch levers have to do with how a bike handles. There's a lot of different ways a twin makes sound, but it is all tied to firing interval. What is the pattern of pulses coming out the tail pipe? Firing interval. Whether it's V or parallel or opposed or whatever it might be, there's nothing as versatile as a parallel twin because they have been configured no less than 5 different ways (to my knowledge) with crankpin rotation relative angles. 360, 180, 270, 285, & 315. Examples: 360: BMW F800GS, old Triumphs, Kawasaki W800 (same firing interval as a BMW boxer twin) [360-360-360-360] 180: Kawasaki Z650, Ninja 400, Yamaha R3 [180-540-180-540] 270: Tuono 660, MT-07, Africa Twin, Speed Twin, GSX-8S, BMW F900XR, etc. etc. etc. etc. [270-450-270-450] 285: KTM 790/890 Duke (same firing interval as their 1090, 1190, 1290 75° V-twins) [285-435-285-435] 315: Husqvarna Nuda 900R (incidentally, the same exact firing interval as a 45° Harley Davidson V-twin) [315-405-315-405]
I just got my Tuono 660 factory 3 weeks ago and use it as a track bike. I don't really care about the sound at all. Does is add more power ... did you put it on a dyno and do a before and after test to measure the performance gain?
it may add a small amount of HP, especially after it has been tuned. the biggest difference is that it also sheds a few pounds of weight. removin the catalytic box and stock tubing and replacing it with straight titanium pipes has to make a huge weight difference, and probably 5 or 6 horsepower
They make the fairings in that many pieces for manufacturing purposes. Creating a mold to do the entire fairing would cost at least 10x what they have invested to make a bunch of smaller parts. At least 10x...literally.
Rs660 costs more but also offers a complete electronic package, more hp, it weighs less and has good quality components. Maybe the rear shock needs some tuning depending on your end goal. I’d go for the RS no doubt. Only thing is reliability, some say it’s good, others not. See for yourself.
Do they make full exhaust that still have mufflers or whatever but sounds much better and louder without being crazy?? What would you recommend for my RS660 that’s louder but not straight pipe loud?

How many people realize a 90° Vtwin operates with a 270° firing interval? So why all the moaning about which way pistons are pointed, when the firing interval is exactly the same?
@@faroerides7851 to be fair, I haven’t heard the CRT in real life (on this bike). I’ve heard it on others and it’s quite loud. I have heard many say the CRT is louder than the scr-1, and mine is already pretty loud, so that mostly what I mean.
Just my opinion but a full system doesn't seem worth it on this bike, it's incredibly high strung from the factory. Also that giant can hanging off the side just ruins the look.

I still have my first bike. A 1995 ZX6E with stage 2 jet kit and full Muzzy exhaust. Sounds better than ANY modern 600 by far.

They have a hole in the rev range it starts pulling way harder when you are over 6.5-7k rpm. It surprised me a little bit when i just got my rs660

It's bike specific. A lot of exhausts will fit multiple bikes but they will mostly come with different headers.
Also every engine sounds different
