AND hold the companies responsible whether it's with fines or some other consequence for putting that crap in our food and doing it knowingly and intentionally and knowing what the side effects are; plus making it more and more highly processed they should be held accountable because they are the ones who are selling it and they know darn well what it's doing to our communities. All of the advertising that's been going on for 40 to 50 plus years about what is a good food for us and what is not. People have made millions and thousands and thousands because they have been willing to cooperate with big food and big Agriculture and sell the crap. And if they can't sell it here they're more than willing to ship it somewhere else. Talk about corporate greed! We need to be much healthier and we need our government to make it happen by or at least make it possible by taking and holding accountable big food and big agriculture. And that means in the house and in the senate, as well as in their pocketbook!!
I've been a nurse for more than 40 years and some of the information we were fed pardon the pun, in nursing school is being disproved right now and we bought into it Hook Line & sinker because we're taught to respect authorities and were taught to respect what has been gone on before but we didn't know the history, and we didn't know the history of the food and agricultural organizations that have been intentionally and consciously for the last 30 to 40 years putting intentional addictive ingredients in the food as well as promoting what will line their pocket rather than promoting our health. I've been on a crash course of learning this last 3 months about dealing with oxalates in our food and carnivore simultaneously so that I could make the change carefully and safely. I do not need one more Health crisis in my life!
even though I am not fully carnivore at this time I am eating a whole lot more animal based diet and have gotten rid of certain foods especially the ones that are super high in oxalates that I did not know anything about! Because they didn't teach it to us in nursing school and they didn't teach the physicians and they didn't teach the dietitians and nutritionist. It's an absolute crying shame because people wanted to put money in their own pocket. And not everybody has the opportunity to have land or a farm where they can do both kinds of farming animal based and plant that safer. I was stunned to learn that more than a hundred and fifty small farms or ranches have been closed down in just the last year because of the pressure from Big Agriculture and they've given the money to get them bought and it's just ridiculous it's so sad. Where are they planning on getting our food in the future from their massive agricultural organizations that has been polluted and herbicides and pesticides and nutrients depleted to death? Are they planning on getting in from China no thank you

    • @jetryan624

It's comments like yours that gives me hope. So thank you for posting. I am a female and only one year older than you so I would like to ask you a couple of questions if you don't mind. Would you mind if I asked you a couple of questions? How long did it take you to lose the 150 lb? What kind of diet did you switch from and how quickly did you switch to carnivore?
I asked because I have been going down the internet rabbit hole and learning copious amounts of information, as much about oxalates in our diet and all mostly in the carbohydrates like fruits and vegetables specifically certain kinds, and learning about carnivore at the same time. I am so thankful I learned about both at the same time because of how it is safer to change to carnivore. From what I have understood from what I have read and learned about oxalates in the diet most of which are in fruits and vegetables but also in the plants itself, they can be very toxic to the human body and when we stop eating them abruptly like switching to keto or carnivore if you do keto without plant-based, which is kind of I guessvery different! Then what happens is your body which has been trying to protect you for years and sequestering or hiding all those oxalates and other tissues in your body including the fat, well when you stop eating them and you start losing the fat, the body does a massive house cleaning and it's causing something called oxalate dumping symptoms or oxalate dumping syndrome. So I was not a vegan or vegetarian and unfortunately I also had caved and eating way too much of a highly processed SAD diet over the years. Lots of different reasons lots of different excuses lots of different issues including chronic pain because it was easier. But I'm wanting to make the switch, I've been learning more and more about carnivore and wanting to make that change, and I want to make sure I'm not going to end up being one of those people the symptoms sounded terrible. From what I understand it doesn't affect everyone who goes full carnivore, probably because they didn't eat that terrible of a diet as I was doing.
So it would help me a great deal if I know that at your age you've been able to do this, did you what kind of diet you switched from, and did you have any of the oxalate dumping symptoms that I've read about and heard about and listened about in podcasts? Or did you have no difficulty whatsoever changing to the carnivore diet. I would be very appreciative of any response at all thank you so much!!

@@jetryan624 I don’t mean to jump in to someone else’s conversation. Just wanted to provide some quick input on your questions, for whatever it may be worth. I’m a 53 year old male who lost just over a 100 pounds and had concerns very similar to yours when starting this back in February ‘23.
First, I’m assuming you’ve already read Sally Norton’s book “Toxic Superfoods”. If not, it’s worth a read in my opinion.
Secondly, if you’re concerned about oxalate dumping, try incorporating the citrate forms of potassium and magnesium into your electrolyte drinks. Not advice here…just an observation based on both Norton’s book and a study I read entitled “Potassium-magnesium citrate is an effective prophylaxis against recurrent calcium oxalate nephrolithiasis”. The paper is focused on kidney stones, but my understanding is that citrate has value overall in reducing the impact of oxalate in the body.
Finally, you may want to consider a slow transition to carnivore. I started with keto in Feb ‘23 and remained with it until November that year. I’ve been carnivore ever since. So mine was a very slow transition, during which time I reduced carb intake and eliminated seed oils slowly.
Not 100% certain, but I suspect that is why I never experienced any issues like “keto flu” and so on. It was smooth sailing and continues so to this day.
      Anyway, best wishes to you!

If companies are found to knowingly lie or hide safety concerns from the public, they need to be heavily fined. If they didn't know, they need to be given a chance to correct and improve. Any money collected as fines should go directly to educating the public about what is actually healthy.

RFK’s ideas about bringing in good science, getting conflict of interest out, incentivizing real outcomes rather than interventions/prescriptions. Just educating drs properly, especially good continuing education. Get rid of subsidies for unhealthy food. So many things they can do to move us in the right direction.

Untouched food and unopened cartons of milk, juice, etc. They will eat when hungry.

If she heard the truth from the powers to be, at least she would be aware, and more likely stop eating it. Also, there doesn't need to be a ban on anything; once educated, most will walk away from the crap that hurts their health and stop buying it.
