Love how stupidly out of place the MCC armor unlocks look in Reach campaign. Aside from the whole aesthetic not fitting, the textures look wrong too. The charm of the reach armour cosmetics, were 1, the gear, aside from the pricey gimmick unlocks like storm, were all utilitarian. gear on the armour etc, with some lore explaining the piece. Then the actual ranking up to unlock the items, with credits earned in game via campaign and online play. Very well done by Bungie. IMO the best cosmetic unlock system made. Rewarded great or long-term players with better unlocks. But allowed customization for everyone, and incentivized continued play to get that unlock you really wanted. The mcc cube unlocks just don't do it justice.
Well at least they aren't cash transactions. Could've been worse. In fact, they WERE going to make it so, however they rolled the decision back due to backlash.
