Notice even in a small room, Boney's sax has "presence" and he uses a little digital delay. No DRY sax here. If it were, let's say, David Sanborn in that room playing, it would sound DRY AS A BONE! The ONLY other sax player that has "pressence" and uses digital delay is Richard Elliot! Almost all other saxaphone players sound DRY!!!!

The room has zero effect on his sound. It would be the same in an arena because the condenser mic on the bell is only picking up the sound of the sax (almost zero sound from the speakers) and going straight into the interface and into the computer. His sound is then mixed to match the ambience of the recording. Because he's playing with a track none of the accompaniment is affected by the room so the sax has to be processed to match.
