You have done the DIY community a huge favor by making this video. I"m kind of old fashioned, however. I do tend to like various gadgets, but i try not to buy gadgets unless I need them. For the "plunge" cut you mention, I find the old tried and true "drill a hole first, then insert the blade of a jigsaw" method still works, and I can see where I'm at and where I'm going very easily. It would be nice had they made the shoe plate like that on a regular circular saw; that would've worked. Great vid, though. Very helpful. I got the ad in my email for the Rotorazer and was seriously considering it. Now I have more information.
I am so glad you found the video helpful. Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. Please consider subscribing if you haven't already as I have lots of videos and many more to come. I am always working on trying to make this channel better.
Thanks for the review comparison. I was thinking about purchasing that Rotorazor and I didn't know about the Rockwell. As a female, I have smaller hands so that grip info was very helpful.
Joy Padayhag I’m glad you found the video helpful, I must say the smaller hand grip on the Rockwell is much more comfortable in my opinion so it will make a big difference. Good luck and thanks for taking the time to comment I really appreciate it.
Looking for one of these small and light enough for a small woman. Some of those battery operated saws are incredibly heavy and unwieldy. Ability to control your device is a major issue.
Based on your experience with both, which in your opinion would work better for mainly ripping vinyl plank flooring (with a guide clamped on the vinyl plank), or would the Rockwell work better for mainly rip cuts? Or would you say neither:)
Well for me, anytime I’m ripping stuff I would prefer to do it on a table saw it’s going to be much more accurate. If you only have these two to choose from then I would go with the Rockwell but honestly I’m not sure I would do much ripping with these tools they’re really not designed for that in my opinion. You certainly can do a piece here or there but if you’re trying to do a big job a tablesaw is the best option.
@@shanesmaineshop thanks, that's what I thought. Was looking for the convenience. No garage:) Tablesaw it is! Just have to go back and forth outdoors. (Condo):). Thanks.
I purchased your Rotorazer and received it with no instructions, but did finally figured it out, but plugged it in now it does not work. I have no way to get in touch with the company to return the product or get my money back. Please get in touch! Donna Canright. Vacaville, Ca.
I wonder if there is an easy way to just REMOVE the safety switch on the top of the Rotorazor? That would solve the issue.... I don't quite understand what that is protecting against anyway?
and about the safety on the razor- seems like once you get it in you can let up on the top (safety) button. idk, for a girl with big hands I don't wanna fight with the plunge, i'd rather mess with the trigger. tho my uses are likely less complex. thanks for the info
I’m so happy I found your video. I have the Rockwell Versa Cut, I really like it a lot. Even though I do like it, I always wondered if I should have got the Rotorazor instead! So now I can be content! Also, I have smaller hands (especially being a girl) so I don’t think I’d like the safety button where it is either!! Thank you! Also, do you have a TH-cam channel of you doing the work on your bus?
I am glad you like the video, Yes i have a channel about the bus it has changed some over time but still has LOTS of bus stuff as well as more videos about the saws in this video. here is a link to the channel, Please take time and look around at all the videos and to understand why the channel has changed over time. If you have any question please feel free to ask I respond to just about all comments. Thanks again for taking the time to comment.th-cam.com/channels/1bqM_tYaCORDOUic7lybzQ.html?view_as=subscriber
The roto razor is almost impossible to use. There is no way to see the blade when you start to cut unless you manually hold the "safety" button down and plunge it holding the front of the saw. This puts your hand right in front of the blade. It is a total joke and the videos the show how easy it is to use are simply full of it. I give it a D-

Enjoyed the video and comparisons of both tools.
Thank you
Thank you for this. I just watched an infomercial for the Rotorazor and was wondering about it. Now I know. Thanks again.
your welcome im glad you found my video helpful.

I am not sure what to tell you. The best this to do is reach out to where you bought it from.
Great review. I've been searching for a tool with these characteristics.
Thank you and I’m glad you found the video helpful. Also thank you for taking the time to comment it means a lot. Have a great day

Even thought I would not recommend removing any safety switch, I certainly understand, In this case it a pain in the butt.
What about left-handed people? Can they use these tools?
Yes
Great video thanks for sharing this information!
You’re very welcome, thanks for taking the time to comment I appreciate it. Have a great day
good stuff- i see i still like the razor better-

Kris Well it’s all about what works for the individual, so I completely understand. Thanks for taking the time to comment.

Any upgrade of the video using the PLATINUM version instead?
No, I like the Rockwell so much better i dont use the other one anymore. most likely i will sell it.
@@shanesmaineshop Sell it to someone you don't like? ..Kidding! ..Thanks for the useful information!
Lol
Well you know what they say about guys with small hands !
HAHAHA your funny LOL, Thanks for taking the time to comment.
You didn't show how its cut, you only talked.
Sorry, I do have some videos of me using it.
