    I love your channel! Moreover, I love that you are a mom and have a strength training channel. My daughter is 8 months old and just started sleeping through the night, so I am getting about 6 hours of sleep. I wanted to start running because I was walking one day, and I tried running across the street and noticed I couldn't pick up my feet. I am an older Mom, and I want to keep up with my little one. So I made it my personal mission to become an efficient runner. Thank you so much for the content.

    I've been on your program for about 3 weeks now and I absolutely love it. My adhd brain usually gets pretty bored with a program with no variation so Stronger By The Day is perfect for me 🤩

    You're passionate about what you're talking about. That's why you yell lol but I like that about you. I wish the mic worked with you!

    Hi, I recently discovered your channel and enjoy watching your fitness journey along with many of your “how to” guides for various exercises. I started my own program in July since rejoining a gym for the first time since Covid (still been working out at home) and have had really good results. My program is a lot like yours. It’s 6 days a week with one day of rest, 3 days of weightlifting, two days of running and one day of conditioning. I really believe the conditioning day is the most important and ties the weightlifting and running together. It’s really tough to make a routine with all 3 elements that don’t negatively effect each other but if you can pull it off, you can get into amazing athletic shape.

    I may be weird, but I find an easy run anywhere between 2-5 miles post leg training is actually really nice for flushing out some built up lactate. (Though I’m used to running 40-50 miles in my current block.) zone 2 training is good for recovery and should be placed between your session runs. I actually like long runs to be progressive. Start with an easy warm up, then moderate. If feeling good you can move Into tempo and end at whatever race pace you want to practice holding. It’s easier to program for runs of at least one hour. I currently use it to make my ten mile long runs a little shorter just by going faster. Training on packed dirt trail is also amazing in my opinion for saving the legs but also creating more stability and strength in the feet and ankles. Also get yourself a pair of new balance rebel v2s if you can find your size cause they are on sale as the new version comes out soon. They are butter underfoot and super light.

    You can probably even do a 10K with 3 days a week of running, so long as you extend those running sessions a bit further. And obviously spend a month or so doing base building (the zone 1 and 2 stuff).
    Also, ugh, diastasis recti. It took me quite a while to heal up. I think sometime in the 4th year pp I could no longer feel any gap between my abs. I didn't do anything special, just running and trail running and it went back to normal. Probably had a 1-1.5 finger gap for a while.

    • @Megsquats
      @Megsquats  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm thinking about doing the full Maffetone method for 6 months or so and track my progress! Def still feeling a gap for me. It's encouraging to hear that yours closed with more time. Thank you for sharing

    Just for the context around running, how many miles do you do per running day and weekly total? Are you on Strava?

    • @Megsquats
      @Megsquats  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I'm not on strava. My long/easy runs are usually between 35-45 mins and I go by heart rate and stay around 146bpm. Usually those runs I get in almost 3 miles. I'd say about 8 miles per week

    I do experience the some in term of core work. Die to my high training volume, I always priorities strength training weight lifting over cardio, I need to work more on my core even though it's quite builded. But sometimes, I loose core tightness and hurt my lower back. What would you suggest doing for corework, that it worthy and close the gap, as you said? Thanks for getting back or sharing your favorite core exercises, that are effective

    If you are looking to run longer distances while still lifting, @doclyssfitness is a good resource for learning how to fit it in with strength training. She runs ultra marathons and does powerlifting style training along side it. I do your program + her running programs!
