Janice Stein's comment about automation and robotics in China was spot-on.
China has currently implemented over 5 million industrial robots in its manufacturing - the US has integrated fewer than 500,000 robots in its manufacturing.
The widespread adoption of new technology, EV's, automation, renewable energy and STEM studies in China, coupled with an 800 million person middle-class consumer market, makes China a formidable challenge for "the west".
    Food for thought...
More than 58% of all the cars sold in Shanghai last year were new energy vehicles (NEV's).
Over 96% of the entire world's electric bus fleet are currently deployed in China's public transit systems.
China generates more solar electricity than the next 5 countries (US, Japan, Germany, India & Australia) combined.
China generates more wind power than the next 4 countries (US, Germany, Brazil & India) combined.
As of last year China had installed almost 2 million 5G base stations ... the US had installed ~100,000.
