  • Are expensive coaxial cables worth the money, or are the cheapest options on Amazon and Aliexpress just as good? Let's find out with the Rohde and Schwarz ZNB8 Vector Network Analyser!
In this video, we compare a high-end Rosenberger LU7 metrology-grade microwave cable assembly costing around $600 to various budget cables, some as cheap as a dollar each. We examine impedance, insertion loss, and overall performance to see if the price difference is justified.
Thanks for watching, and have a fantastic week!

What a great tutorial. Everyone wonders, and it's so easy for us to ignore the problems that cheap hw can cause. This gives us a feel. Thank you!

Nice video. Reminds me that I need to go through all the cables I buy to be sure they don't introduce measurement errors

Thats a very nice comparison of the cables. I really don't like the RG316 and rather prefer the RG402/405 because they are better than the 316 and easier to assemble on my own.

I have not used one of these in almost a decade, but generally, I go with cables in the midrange. Expensive cables often use exotic or rare materials that improve fidelity, but the cost scaling is not worth it for most.
