Toyota Innova on Genting / YS Khong Plays Genting Taxi Driver With 7-Seater MPV / YS Khong Driving

  • The Toyota Innova is probably one of the toughest 7-seater MPVs that is built to last. For vehicles like the Innova the main objective is to keep it as simple as possible, and as affordable as possible, although the one we tested is the range topper.
    It is not so much about the power, but whether there is enough. There must be a reason why the Innova is so popular as a taxi - so we test it on one of the most challenging roads.

    thanks bro for the update ,just got the same, a week old innova X,no regrets,just as you said the drive experience...opted out of 4x4 cos hardly use that features,been in Sabah/Labuan for the last 30 years and the Innova suspension is the best,still keeping my old avanza and first gen toyota Rush.....very bumpy cars to drive unless carry passengers or goods....
    thanks for saying.."you are impressed with this latest Innova"..the X version is not a poor man"s Vellfire or Alphard..is really value for money.

I've had my Innova for about a week, like you said, handling is ok...not bad as this is a higher car and on a ladder frame...a far cry from the Unser and 1st gen Innovas. Between this and the Mitsubishi Xpander, I would get the Xpander if my purpose is to carry 7 people.Although it is powered by a 1.5L engine,it is adequate as it is much lighter than the Innova..It seat 7 people comfortably and also it drives comfortably too due to the monocoque build vs the ladder frame build of the Innova.Not to mention it is much cheaper!

    • @YSKhongDriving
      @YSKhongDriving  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    • @emilylimsl9884
      @emilylimsl9884 3 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Yeah, because Innova is such big car while Xpander is small MPV as both are different segment.
      But Innova comes with good power at least while Xpander only 170km/h as top speed, Innova is slightly faster than Xpander as Innova top speed is 180km/h. While Innova comes with 6AT, Xpander comes with 4 AT and Innova carries bigger liter capacity compare to Xpander.
      Besides, Innova comes with Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) and come with 6 airbags where Xpander lacks. Even Xpander come with 2 airbags. And also Innova have more space with good comfort for passengers including second row and third row which Innova is quite big car.
      But I’m not saying Xpander are not good. At least both Xpander and Innova are good as overall. Even both Xpander and Innova are still affordable but all depends on specs and safety features that attracts to the customers.

    Uncle Khong is Ativa faster to reach compare to Innova?

    I believe this is your first (recorded) Genting hillclimb in an MPV? If that is a yes, I hope u can try Kia's Grand Carnival, Starex, Estima, Alphard, Vellfire.
    Right before viewing this video, I watched your Ativa video. Man, Innova is much quieter than that Ativa. CVT whining is too much in Ativa.

    • @YSKhongDriving
      @YSKhongDriving  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thwy mever brought the diesel here, I prrsume because the cost is high: I drove the diesel in India and it was fantastic.

      @@YSKhongDriving ha you ever go to India ha uncle? Actually the cost in indo with the diesel I think is not that high if you pick the lowest trim ex like the G trim is the lowest in Indonesia but the price is under 400 million rupiah is still around 390 lah
