    Very nice!!! Growing up, my mom had a 1967 GT 390 4-speed, Green on Green. She bought it new after she graduated from high school. What a blast of memories Growing up!!!!!

      @thecougarelimanatorden1622, if memory serves me correctly somewhere in the neighborhood of 300 GT's were built in 1967. And I know that it wasn't an XR-7 GT. I think that's only in 1968.

    Both my uncles worked for Fords in assembly plants..
    In 1969 , one bought a Mustang GT & the other a Cougar GT..
    I was just a kid , but I thought they were amazing..
    Both were stick shift & V8's but I dont recall what motors they had..

    I like your content and am a great fan of cougars and fords/mercury’s/Lincoln’s and have been for years. Might not want to focus too much on part numbers, which is great if they are original and a numbers matching comment is all that’s really necessary. The transverse rear muffler is a resonator not really a muffler. Also never ever push on a brake pedal of a car that’s been sitting for years. If the brakes aren’t locked they will be. Count your blessings and move on Washing the dust off would have been great. I’m sure it’s coming in a future video but that blue with the cream color interior is a fantastic combination. Would have loved to see it before it got tucked away. Keep up the good work.

    • @thecougareliminatorden1622
      @thecougareliminatorden1622  ปีที่แล้ว

      I was under the impression that exhaust system had resonators after the H pipe before the transverse muffler. The car had the orig exhaust. Noted on the brake pedal. I appreciate the support 👍

    FYI, When one removes a rad cap it comes off turning it counter clockwise. To put it back on you need to go clockwise.
    When you try to put it back on turning it counter clockwise will never work

    • @thecougareliminatorden1622
      @thecougareliminatorden1622  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had forgotten that the radiator cap has to be pushed down then turned so it threw me off. I also haven't worked on a running/driving classic car with a functioning radiator in years

    It irritates me so much when these “owners” of classic cars talk about how much they “love” their cars and “how wonderful it was” to have them, but then they park them in a barn for decades, never driving them and just let them ROT. Ridiculous!!!

    Only question I have is why didn't you stop at a car wash and knock most of that dirt off of her? Nice find, 390 4 speed in what looks like Presidential Blue.

    • @thecougareliminatorden1622
      @thecougareliminatorden1622  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You’ll laugh when I tell you I still haven’t washed it. I’m waiting until it’s a rolling chassis and I’ll do a multi step wash as an attempt to preserve the paint as good as possible. The worst thing I could do is a high pressure wash and scrub, embedding all the dirt and contaminants into the orig paint. Thanks, it’s nightmist blue, maybe same as presidental in ‘68?

Inverness Green/ Saddle Interior..It is disassembled but all there matching # s too.Believed to be 1 of 4 produced with A/C in that configuration. Was repainted Nordic blueish...n has black interior now. Qwner has had it for 11 years n did not know how rare it was or would have left it stock color....Think he is moving n retiring now n has decided to keep it n finish it right...

    Dudes a rookie 😂,you don't sit n shift them ol, standard shift cars without em running, my gear head brother use to ball me out for that when I was like 12, I actually cod locked a couple,doin that ,he traded daily, when something new hit the driveway with a stick first thing I wanted to do was check that stick out, after a few times I was warned don't be dam shifting it or stay out of it he would grumble,😅 at sixteen i got my license in a standard shift,and at 59still prefer a standard shift in anything,there twice the vehicle in anything over automatics i guarantee it,sighned,QUICK CARL, 💯😎

    Sadly soon all combustion cars and trucks including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-(
    In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025
    on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Car washs will be forbidden too because they are climate killers, now they want to slow down all the gas station pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime.!!! (BABVVEN & TEBBVEN & BEFVO laws)!!!!!!!

    IMHO all cougars should have Big Block chevy motors inserted. Love the Cougar body lines, but detest ford power. I and some friends did a 67' with a 427 and a glide many years ago.

    • @solice8844
      @solice8844 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not enough room in the front engine compartment for a big block Chevy motor. I had a Ford 390 in my '68 Cougar and the mechanics hated working on it because there was no room to get to the spark plugs. Chevy cars have big compartments with lots of room.
