- Lithuanian drinking song about beer. Traditionally the beverages which were consumed in Lithuania were mead & beer, even nowadays beer is considerably more popular than stronger spirits.
TRANSLATION OF THE LYRICS:
The oat beer is sweet, it's made with three buds of hop
How I would drink it, how I would like to be given some
The father is sitting in the corner, he has a rod in his hand
He's scolding, threatening, he's not giving me any beer
The oat beer is sweet, it's made with three buds of hop
How I would drink it, how I would like to be given some
The mother is sitting in the corner, she has a rod in her hand
She's scolding, threatening, she's not giving me any beer
The oat beer is sweet, it's made with three buds of hop
How I would drink it, how I would like to be given some
The brother is sitting in the corner, he has a wormwood in his hand
He's scolding, threatening, he's not giving me any beer
The oat beer is sweet, it's made with three buds of hop
How I would drink it, how I would like to be given some
The sister is sitting in the corner, she has a rue in her hand
She's scolding, threatening, she's not giving me any beer
The oat beer is sweet, it's made with three buds of hop
How I would drink it, how I would like to be given some
The lass is sitting in the corner, she has a ladle in her hand
She's asking, she's begging me to drink some beer
The oat beer is sweet, it's made with three buds of hop
How I would drink it, how I would like to be given some
This is the greatest drinking song ever.

Tokias dainas geriau būtų už stalo dainuot. :) Žinau, žinau, Suktinio formatas.
Simonas Kiela Ir aš tą patį pagalvojau, kad už stalo būtų dar gražiau žiūrėjęsi :)
Susitiksime alucio šventėje 🍺👍👋💯
This is the Lithuanian take on America's "One Hundred Bottles Of Beer On The Wall" but in reverse, almost. Talk about a guy who's "not getting any" until the lass with the ladle shows up (wink wink ..!).
Sveikinimai is svyturio salies
I wish German folk music was this cool.
Why you don't like it or what part of it?
I think it is! Ever heard of Santiano, d'Artagnan, or Faun? I've actually been obsessed with Lithuanian and German folk music at the same time. 😆
You guys are amazing
i dont know what are you saying but i love this greetings from Turkey :)
Turn on the subtitles, it's a pretty funny song ;D

Bukit sveiki ❤
Žiauriai smagi
Linki Raseiniai ❤
How many damn corners does this house have??
For example, in another Lithuanian folk song it is said that a manor with eight corners was built: th-cam.com/video/yvcOfNK5eFc/w-d-xo.html
Such shape was favoured in the very oldest shrines and chappels:

Most likely, this building tradition is a remnant from the pagan past: the earliest describtions of pagan place of worship mention such structures, albeit from clot, here's one illustration from 16th century:

This sounds Nordic. Based on the way it's set up. Doesn't sound Germanic, Slavic, Celtic, Latin, or Greek at all.
Edit: Nevermind, I did some research. It looks like it's a mix of Germanic and Slavic tribes. The Baltic people also have Vikings. I might be wrong. So if I am, educate me please.
Baltic people speak very archaic languages... Baltic languages are mostly similar to slavic and indoaryan one but they sound the similar way with greek and latin and sanskrit at the same time... yeah some thing are similar to germanic ones but remember baltic is more archaic and look at nature in scandinavia and baltic region... Lithuanians arent nordic
Baltic people are north european common misconseption is that baltic are eastern but thats not true. Baltic people are north european but not nordic we are baltic. North europe is scandinavia (Sweden, Norway and Denmark aka vikings), Iceland, baltic finns (estonians and finnish) and baltic (latvians and lithuanians)
Baltic languages are Indo-European as Scandinavian languages are, also considering proximity, of course there is so much in common between two regions.
Tyliau nes dar veryga išgirs;Ddddd
Kaip tik garsiau - tegul girdi! :D
ŠPYGĄ TAU VERYGA!!! XDDDD

I play this song when my family says im too pissed

Hmm, what is that instrument that he is playing with a bow called, I wonder?

Baltic folk there are historians claiming strong links between the people of Lithuania and Romania in the distant past.it would see impossible in the first place, but i simpli cannot exlude such a version.
