    You are an excellent teacher. I am brand new to the violin as an adult and I am thrilled that you have so generously taken the time to prepare and post these videos. Bravo! I can't wait to begin lesson 4. I feel with your video series I will learn the violin! Thank you.

    This is probably the most comprehensive, clear, and painless guide I've found on TH-cam, thus far.

    Always dreamed of learning violin always loved to hear it played. I baught my first one from a women that's played it since 1976 she baught it in Japan before she came over to the states it's a beautiful Suzuki 330. Im already learning souch from this channel and I'm having fun while learning. I'm very happy to have come across your channel because your the first person I found that doesn't use advanced methods to tech beginner lessons like vibrato I was having so much trouble learning even beginner notes because every video they used vibrato.

    I hadn’t touched my beloved violin for many years, it hurt my heart, and I lost hope however I had a private teacher, but unfortunately, I found it so difficult and quiet to learn. but after I watched your lessons, I brought my violin and started practicing again with your lessons, I’m at lesson 3 now, and I hope I can use my fingers gently which is the hardest part of learning violin

    Hello! These are great videos and I appreciate your free help so much. I am curious about my sound though. I am just re-learning and playing on this good, old violin I got from a thrift shop. So, my E’s, A’s and D’s all have a smooth clear sound to them, when I start playing the G the sound is a bit “scratchy” and it doesn’t hold the note as well. Is that common? Is it typical for a G to not hold it’s pitch as easily? Thanks again for these lessons!

      Hi Danitsa, if you find it hard to reach the point of the bow on the G string, try moving you bow-arm further forward when you play down bow, ie from the heel to the point of the bow. So you want to try and stretch your bow arn in front of you, rather than sideways.

      Not really, no. But you should avoid making a habit of holding the violin by the body, as the perspiration of the hand may damage the varnish

    • @violinclasses
      @violinclasses  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello, that is a good point! it happens in a lot of people, so you are not alone. It is usually to do with tension in your right shoulder or upper arm. Can I suggest that you try to drop your shoulder. Stop just before the string crossing, relax your right arm and then cross the string. Let me know if this works for you.

    • @violinclasses
      @violinclasses  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi btpuppy2 well observed! Yes, you should aim to play with your pinky in contact with the bow at this level. When you get more advanced, the pinky sometimes comes off the bow, as your bow hand becomes more relaxed. 🎻🎻🎻
