'The Incredible Shrinking Man' is one of my favorite movies. The protagonist's fight against the spider is one of the most suspenseful action sequences of all cinema. His struggle to retain his identity and humanity while shrinking into literal nothingness is poignant and heartfelt. The effects still hold up. Okay, I admit it, the spider got to me. Bastard gave me nightmares for weeks as a kid.
I was part of a classic movie festival in the early 2000s where Yvette Vickers, one of the stars of this movie (and The Giant Leeches!) was our guest of honor. Even in her twilight years she was an absolute delight. I had the good fortune of getting to spend some time with her, and will never forget hearing her tell scandalous stories about dating Carey Grant :) Rest in peace, Yvette.

I just knew the remake of it. The remake is not bad at all. It was really a good remake. One of the alltime best remakes ever. The character-devellopment takes a very long time, like in the original, but it is never boring. Because you can actually see, how the main-character grows and how she have to deal with her unusual cicumstances. It is a must-watch for sure.

50ft. Woman is the BEST monster of all time. She's so big, strong, beautiful, glamorous, intelligent, kind and gentle. I've always loved her since I first saw this movie when I was 10 years old. Thanks for reviewing this classic, yet great movie. 50ft. Woman must rule the world. GIANTESS DOMINATION MUST BE REALIZED.

I just realized the irony of that episode. Steven himself was a giant women...two giant women. No wonder he messed up.
Fun fact: Susan Murphy, the protagonist of the animated movie Monsters VS Aliens was inspired in Nancy from this movie, because both are giant women.
Monsters VS Aliens isn't one of the best movies made by DreamWorks Animation, but still good.
They could've gotten Bert I Gordon to direct this movie. At least he knew how to pull off effects.

There is a 80's or '90s a remake of this because I remember watching it on USA up all night.
Why were they even bother to remake such an eye-catching classic (Hot Woman shlock) movie for a few years earlier (in 1993 instead of since 1996)?
