This is a really nice video. I got to Geneva three days ago because I'm working at CERN for three weeks, and today I finally took the time to go wander down along the lake. I took the 18 to Coutance, walked to the river, and then followed the coast to the end of Parc de La Perle du Lac, and then walked down various streets back across to the same tram stop I arrived from. I hadn't watched any videos or read any guides before this, so I was just exploring randomly. Your city is lovely. I had a nice time and can't wait to head back down to Geneva in a couple of days. I was planning to go to Old Town to see the cathedral with a friend who told me about it. Your video also gave me some new places to check out while I'm here. Merci!
I spent a summer in Geneva with my family when I was a kid. So many great memories from that summer (like getting my first passport!). This reminds me how much I've been wanting to go back and see what it's like as an adult. Carouge looks especially nice!
Thank you so much for the helpful information! I watched many of your videos to prepare for the Europe trip which will sadly end tomorrow in Geneva. I greatly appreciate your effort in making helpful videos, and I wish many blessings for your lovely family! ❤ 😊
Just curious how to go up on Cathedral, went there 4 years ago and can not find where is the stairs. No Information, no person to ask. It is free to come up to the tower ?
Thanks for the recommendations! We've been to Gornergrat/Zermatt before - but havent visited Leukerbad & Crans Montana! I'll definitely add both to the list :) What would you recommend we see there?!
Great video as usual! I’ll be in Geneva next week for 2 days as I’m going to visit the Glacier 3000 which I’m super excited for it. Most likely, I’ll be staying at AC Hotel Saint-Julien-en-Genevois. Is it too far from the city & the old town? I appreciate it if you give me some advice. Thank you 🙏
Awesome video! I have 1 full day to spend in Geneva and intend to follow this video to explore the area. Should I stay in Old Town area or near GVA airport. Thanks!
Hey! Louis here, I recommend staying in the old town. You can get so quickly to the airport by train from the main train station that it’s worth enjoying a night in a nice area. Safe travels and I hope you’ll enjoy your stay!
Amazing walking tour my friend😍 .Greatly captured.. loved your work. New friend here..🙋♀️ waiting for more videos..😇 keep sharing and keep connected mate😊🤍
Thanks for your videos! I just subscribed and it’s been so helpful. My family and I are traveling to Switzerland for the first time in April and arriving in Zurich and making our way to Geneva. We have about 6 full days. Which 2-3 base cities would you recommend we stay as I understand once we establish a base, we can take the train to other cities easily from there. I was thinking of heading straight to Lucerne upon landing and then we can go to interlaken and surrounding area or explore Zurich from there. Perhaps a day or 2 in zermatt and then finally stay in geneva. If you have other suggestions as we want to get the most in on our short stay, that would be great!
How is Geneva in January? we are from Vancouver, BC and going to France in Dec/Jan and thought we would go couple of days in Geneva in January, is it worth it?
Hey I'm coming to Geneva for business trip for 1 week. Can you please advise me good hotels with reasonable prices & good rates. I'm visiting for business personal visit. I would appreciate any advise.
Dear I have a question pertaining to the trip only to Geneva City. That 5 or 7 days are enough to visit all famous spots in Geneva can be easily visited or not waiting for your kind response
OK, so this is _slightly_ off-topic but I'm in Lausanne now and noticed something odd that I had not seen on my previous visits: beggars! Do you know what's going on and why this sudden increase (from basically zero in the past)? I also went for a day to Interlaken (an addiction of mine) but there seems to be no problem there. A couple of days ago I went to Geneva (to visit the Patek Philippe museum, very nice!) and I didn't see any beggars there either. Does any of this make sense? I'm assuming this must be something well-known. Few months ago I was in Poland and Lviv (Ukraine) and seen practically no such problem there.
It must be a big change relocating from Geneva to Zurich! What language does Louis conduct his job in at work? Does it require fluency in French and/or German?
Louis works in finance and speaks English in his office - from his experience since they financial firms are quite international the office environments seem to be primarily in English - he uses his French sometimes but it wasn’t required, and he’s not fluent in German. I think the language depends on the sector but for financial firms and larger organizations english tends to be the main language spoken, a local language is always a plus though! But not always a requirement
That’s for the video and suggestion to visit Courage. I am coming in March for my birthday and would love to eat cheese fondue in Geneva (partner would prefer meat fondue). Can you advise somewhere relatively reasonable that won’t cost me the earth? Also what is the weather like in March please
Montreux… beautiful promenade along the lake and mansions to Chillon Castle. Interlaken has strategic location if you’d like to explore Jungfrau area & Zermatt.
Hi there! To simply enter the church it is free, but to walk to the top of the towers for the view it is 8CHF for adults or 4 CHF for students/children
