Came across this video 14 years after it was posted. I can’t believe it’s been that long since I was absolutely obsessed with this game and would stay up all night playing on Xbox Live with my friends and would idolize these elite players. What I would give to go back just for one night and do it all again. This game was amazing.
Same bro I literally used to dream about this game. The first time I played with my friends we played 4 player split screen and I got addicted and all my friends slowly lost interest and I became a beast. Then halo 3 came out and It became a bigger obsession.
+samcooke343 it's the same guy, it has nothing to do with advances. They just made his voice sound different. I guess they wanted it to sound more futuristic.
Legendary. This must’ve been right at the release of halo 2 cause they dropped radar and dual wielding pretty fast. Must’ve watched this hundreds of times back in the day in pure awe! I adored this game and really looked up to the pro players, especially the OGRE twins. Not flashy players even by 15 year ago standards, just solid game sense and teamwork. Hope they’re both doing well whenever they are in life, we all old now 🤣 Edit: more like 19 years, jeez
4 years on and i still regard this as OGRE1's best vid. no editing, no fancy effects, just pure unaltered ownage. laughing at the noobs who think this is fake, they have lots to learn.
I played these guys in mlg tournaments, I almost won an FFA at MLG Toronto against ogre2 i was ahead 3/4 of the gameand he came back and won lol I wasn't surprised but I was happy to be ahead of him most of the match lol. I also played Ghandi, Karma. Manova and Scrubtwista in an oddball lock out thats on youtube, won that and a TDM against them one time. Those were just practice games but I was still Happy our team won a couple lol. Not the Whole team Carbon of course but still. My names Truls I went to wcg 2003 Korea for 1v1 back in the day, met Zyos and Proxa and competed in mlg and host Lans til 2007, loved these days. Had people from all over the world come to my house to Lan x1 a year for two weeks at a time. Good times.
Glad I found this 17 years later. The OGREs were something else. Could alternatively be titled now: "What Happens When you Don't GA Sword and Have Infinite Ammo"
Are you fucking serious? Honest to god no one cant criticize his game play here. Every halo pro respects what he did here not because of the 41 and 0. Its because he had so many chances to fuck up yet he made the smartest decisions in each circumstance. That's why this is such a highly respected match.
man i've watched this video so many times but i just realized they're playing mlg with radar on. that must have been some super early h2 settings. even by mid to late 2005 i remember having radar off.
lol poor McGavin. I'm gonna have to remind him about this game the next time I talk to him haha. Nice Vid always cool to see classics such as the "41-0" Vid.
This video is why I started playing Halo. Regardless of what people say everything he did in the vid was flawless. He picked his fights even tho he had the power weapons. He never rushed and chose to run on occasion. He knew his role in this game which was not the objective player but the slayer. And stop pissing and moaning about him cuz he clearly out brs ghandi with in the first 2 min
this vid was made before MLG gametypes even existed. it may be on youtube for 2 years but the vid itself was made right after halo 2's release, 4 years ago.
God I miss halo 2....... That was the game. I had played with Walshy and T2 and I think OGRE 2 cuz I had a friend on my list who later on went pro....(LunchBox) Lol
Sadly, a game like this only really comes around once a decade. It came and went to fast only to give way to games that try to recreate what halo 2 had. Fuck you microsoft. You killed H2's multiplayer.
If only some of us could go back and just pull them all-nighters again. I wish I never stopped playing halo 2 , but towards 2008-2009 it was impossible to find a match at a 44 🌙
This was a Looong time ago on Xbox Live not a MLG event, Swords are aloud, no duals only depends on the map. FFA games only do Human so noone can whore the sword and get tons of kills with it, people online make different MLG settings.
Itwasluck played well into the 09 season, Foulacy was on Fatal Images in Meadows and San Diego 08, Ogre 1 quit to go to Australia, Zyos quit before H3 was even out, Ghandi and Shockwave quit to focus on other things, like college. Fonzi is the only one that might have quit because of the game. Frag wouldn't count because he wasn't anything close to pro. So you have 1 person. H2 retired more pros that H3.
Freakin amazing, I dont agree with you Masacre, this is ogre 1, even pros miss head shots, going 41-0 is insane, even with sword, and also its about the sure kill, so what if he earned snipes through body shots and sword beat downs? you can just tell he was trying to stay alive, but Id like to see you in his shoes in that game type to see how long you last! FREAKIN AWESOME VID
@TotalTwister i mean in the sprees. Killing Spree • Running Riot • Rampage • Berserker • Overkill... overkill is the last one, after that it repeats overkill every 5 kills
wow. just goes to show you how drastic 17 years can be, also Ogre 1 was ahead of his time, insane how good he was. Imagine if he kept playing with bro and Halo and MLG* knew what they were doing. They would of been superstars... rip a great era of gaming, it won't come back..... ai *microsoft lol
Ogre 1 is playing against other pro players. This is pre-patch. BxR wasn't found yet. Ogre 1 IS a professional player. He retired from Halo 2 and continues to play Halo 3. The team he's playing with is not his MLG team, so communication and familiar teamwork is lacking.
accually this was the one of the first version of MLG gmaetypes plain and simple just BR starts basically, then they went into ways to make the game more stratified and more equal
@GiftedNq I'm pretty sure the guy who threw that was just trying to get it to land at the s3 plasma nade spawn, and just missed. Actually, the only lockout nade point I ever recall seeing a pro use is the s1 to library one haha. So I'm 99% sure it was just a misplaced nade.
This is the best Halo performance ever. This is equivalent to Wilt Chamberlain's 100 point game. I know the comparison might sound exaggerated but it defined a dynasty and it shows who was the dominant force in Halo and Halo 2: The Ogres.
For all you people that don't believe this was the real ogre 1, it is. you can look it up on bungie. MLGWizzle explained the stk so if you don't get what that is, look at his post. if you want to look it up on bungie go to "stk ogre 1" and look up his halo 2 career stats, its on page 24 near the top its king on lockout, if you can't find it, send me a message i'll get you the link. man I miss the old team though Ogre 1 and Ogre 2 were the scariest duo in mlg
@GiftedNq Oh cool! What other maps did people use nade points on? I would guess beaver creek to nade down rocket, but other than that, I can't picture any other nade points being used in MLG.
Its crazy to see how much competition has improved since these days. Nowadays if pros played H2 theyd all be hitting perfect quadshots, BXRs/BXBs, not miss, spawn trap etc.. This game looks like a modern day pub lobby. Like how many people pushed lift knowing Ogre had sword? Kids are daft
@GiftedNq Oh nice! I knew a fair amount of Halo 1, but rarely ever had the time to pull any off in Halo 2. I've stuck several people in my career with the s1 - library. I think the only other one I ever used that I think I created was a shortcut to back BR (it would land on library side ramp). I would have bet money that there weren't any crazy nade points when this game was filmed in early 2005, or whenever it was haha. Yeah, I was in the top 10 ;)
someone on his team helped him..i know it doesn't happen often on live, rarely for me anyway, but hes lucky enough to have a smart team too..and swords part of the game..first person to pick up sword doesn't keep it all game...
man i hope they put the medals and writing back in the upper left hand corner. having them at the bottom is frustrating, it blocks my reticle half the time
He was fucking dominating lol if you watch all of the RED team was just trying to hunt his ass down but couldn't. Ogre 1 and 2 are fucking good at Halo though i admit that!!!!

Same here
same, bro. Playing halo 2 on xbl as a kid was magical lol
Same bro I literally used to dream about this game. The first time I played with my friends we played 4 player split screen and I got addicted and all my friends slowly lost interest and I became a beast. Then halo 3 came out and It became a bigger obsession.
Same. I miss it a lot 😪
I'm here reminiscing the better days of halo...

One of the earliest gaming video I’ve seen
This was probably around 2005 or 2006.
Never watched the ogres h1 winter wonderland?
Clicked on this video simply for the fact it said 17yrs ago. What a time its been
I miss the Halo 2 announcer.
+MrHav1k It's still the same guy, he's call Jeff Steitzer. His voice just sounds different with all the advances in recording etc.
+samcooke343 it's the same guy, it has nothing to do with advances. They just made his voice sound different. I guess they wanted it to sound more futuristic.

You can tell it's Ogre just by how smart he plays... Even though it was early in the game's history his strafe was still really smooth...
Speaking of strafes, did SK ever reveal how the hell he did his SKrafe? :o
Glad I found this 17 years later.
The OGREs were something else.
Could alternatively be titled now:
"What Happens When you Don't GA Sword and Have Infinite Ammo"
Ogre11 putting on a clinic!
All 3 pixels in this video
LOL I remember voice masking. It was annoying and yet hilarious at the same time.
Stepping on-and-off the hill?

fludblud damn this comment is like a decade old
Wow. 4 years ago. I had to go back and look at that time stamp.
@@Vynndii Wooooah your comment notification took me on one helluva nostalgia trip hahaha
fludblud holy crap. I didn’t expect you to get a notification after 11 years. Glad you’re still around!
Have another one 🤣👍
I miss this game so much 😭😭😭
God I miss halo 2....... That was the game. I had played with Walshy and T2 and I think OGRE 2 cuz I had a friend on my list who later on went pro....(LunchBox) Lol
2021? Anyone ?
Sadly, a game like this only really comes around once a decade. It came and went to fast only to give way to games that try to recreate what halo 2 had.
Fuck you microsoft. You killed H2's multiplayer.
As awesome as this gameplay is, I feel like it still doesnt show how good he is
soon as i saw lockout i knew there were gonna be a lot of sword kills
this is pretty good for controller and ten years ago.
And against a bunch of top pros at the time.
2021. After seeing ogre 2 named best halo player
UN-FREAKING BELIEVABLE LMAO !!!
I miss you Halo 2.
If only some of us could go back and just pull them all-nighters again. I wish I never stopped playing halo 2 , but towards 2008-2009 it was impossible to find a match at a 44 🌙

Would love to see this upscaled or something.
the overkill was the medal for 25kills no deaths. he then gets it after every five kills and no deaths after that cos theres no higher medal
wow early halo 2 ogre 1, kinda scary :)
Itwasluck played well into the 09 season, Foulacy was on Fatal Images in Meadows and San Diego 08, Ogre 1 quit to go to Australia, Zyos quit before H3 was even out, Ghandi and Shockwave quit to focus on other things, like college. Hahahha, it was hilarious when they all tried to rush him near the end. They got horrably owned! This guy is the shit.

Shoot to Kill Ogre 1 footage, classic af
this is an old old old vid ogre 1 made back in late 04. besides, this is a vid of one whole game, not a spliced up montage of all his best shots.
Ogre 1 is playing against other pro players. This is pre-patch. BxR wasn't found yet. Ogre 1 IS a professional player. He retired from Halo 2 and continues to play Halo 3. The team he's playing with is not his MLG team, so communication and familiar teamwork is lacking.
unheard of K/D in this era of halo in this gametype against all pro players
@DeftDel Yes there was. It went, double, triple, killtacular, kill frenzy, killtrocity, and killmanjaro.
accually this was the one of the first version of MLG gmaetypes plain and simple just BR starts basically, then they went into ways to make the game more stratified and more equal
ugh the ogres haha too good, didnt they use to play on xbox connect too?... man im old...
Recommended in 19 , I'm glad it is
@godofwar6511 yeah the sword was unlimited and it had a massive range to it thats why it was so good.
“He’s comin’ after meeee”
Watching in 2020
McGavin, Seven, Gandhi. What are you talking about? Those were top 8 names back in that time.
Him with a sword, is a very scary thing
Back when Ogre 1 actually knew how to miss.
This was in 04 damn I’m old
@BTxARTIST Halo 2 has a lock on system.... you could hit someone in the shoulder but it would register as a headshot.
Halo 2 announcer was teh beezh kneezh
This is the best Halo performance ever. This is equivalent to Wilt Chamberlain's 100 point game. I know the comparison might sound exaggerated but it defined a dynasty and it shows who was the dominant force in Halo and Halo 2: The Ogres.
loooool great video and ghandi is hilarious
@GiftedNq Oh yeah, there were a ton used in Halo 1, I mean for Halo 2. I can only think of lockout and beaver creek
6:23 UNFREAKIN BELIEAVBLE haha
man really miss these days..
that is how he summons his secret powers. rofl
lockout is so much better than blackout its unreal.
true

I dont care...im still gonna watch it, I know exactly what goes on!
Did they add the announcer saying "Unfrigginbelievable" in a later patch, or was it like that outta the box?
Impressive
@GiftedNq Oh cool! What other maps did people use nade points on? I would guess beaver creek to nade down rocket, but other than that, I can't picture any other nade points being used in MLG.

This is 04. Halo 2 was out for 1-2 months at this point. BXR and BXB wasn't known yet.
This is art.
Man... I forgot how massive the Halo 2 sword lunge was until about 6:40. Huge.
@GiftedNq Oh nice! I knew a fair amount of Halo 1, but rarely ever had the time to pull any off in Halo 2. I've stuck several people in my career with the s1 - library. that's fucking insane lmaoooo
41 kills in a row with the best at the time lol. this is fr crazy
Pre-update ogre1. even if hes not amazingly good at sniping like others back then, he is more accuare now than he was before.
someone on his team helped him..i know it doesn't happen often on live, rarely for me anyway, but hes lucky enough to have a smart team too..and swords part of the game..first person to pick up sword doesn't keep it all game...
man i hope they put the medals and writing back in the upper left hand corner. having them at the bottom is frustrating, it blocks my reticle half the time
I hate how much they nerfed the sword and noob
He's making a COOOMMMMEEEEBBBBAAAACCCKKKK!!!
legendary gameplay
halo 2 perfection
Gameplay is so bad now but so good at the time. Crazy how gameplay evolves.
ganhdi made me laugh that whole game
He was fucking dominating lol if you watch all of the RED team was just trying to hunt his ass down but couldn't. Ogre 1 and 2 are fucking good at Halo though i admit that!!!!
