"What has my life become?" you asked rhetorically at the end there. Children learning life lessons on a working farm, growing up with chores and responsibilities, acres of pastures and soon to be a dream of a main house. I can only hope and work toward something similar. A simple life; maybe not. But better...maybe. You'll decide that as the years roll on. I think it'll prove to be a wonderful move for your family.
Also means that we are not overloaded with milk, a young jersey and we would be swimming in it! 3-4 litres a day off the old good still adds up though and soon to be two. 😬
Just woke Mrs up out loud laughing at the “pretty sure there’s a chicken asleep in my car”….and the following confirmation/shooing out. 😂😂 We have 6 chickens. One had to spend the night in our bathroom recently as was under the weather and needed to be kept an eye on. Love the idea of one of them constantly sneaking into my pickup 😂
I'm thinking at about the 6 minute mark you either need to get better lenses that don't distort as much, or the very slender and petit Jo is working on a special "project"? Really enjoy this channel, love seeing the additions both by birth and purchase. Subscribed tonight.
Jonathan uses the milk for cheesemaking, the smaller fat globules are ideal for that. A Jersey with bigger fat globules is ideal for cream and butter making, we had Jersey house cows and my mother made clotted cream (let the milk stand for some time and then heat on the Rayburn), this was turned into butter. A Shorthorn would be a more general purpose cow, she would also be capable of producing a really good beef cross calf, I learnt to hand milk on one of my father's Shorthorns. Both the Gloucester and Shorthorn are fairly rare, the Jersey is found in many large commercial herds.
Eden is a natural at milking! So impressed! All 3 of your children are going to have a wonderful childhood growing up on your farm. Not only learning about the animals but seeing the hard work of both parents. Another chapter begins! 🐄🐄
Watched Funky Farmer a couple of days ago and learnt all about Gloucesters. Sounds like the perfect breed for a House Cow and for a Family . Good luck and look forward to watching how it all goes forward.
Once you get used to milking her and keep her nice and friendly and well handled you could milk her standing in the field and you have nice milk for breakfast. Keep the videos coming.
Look grand, the horns 🤔 Theres a herd of longhorns up the road, now theyve got horns 😉 Entertaining video as ever, punctuated by Rosa's sharp succint accurate commentary...."lots of poo". And Eden looking more like one of the farm lasses every time,,,,,, eighteen months she'll but running the place, 😉 Good luck with calving hope its smooth and easy 👍
Yeah I should have been content just looking out at next door's herd but always loved the idea of micro dairying or at least producing all our own for now. Definitely quicker to pop to the shops though! 😬
The wife thinks Jo is looking radiant?🤗
You must both be really proud of your eldest what a great kid so helpful and brave and clearly loves farming
Seems like another announcement is on the way also. 🤭
Yes I was wondering that ;)
Shhh...
Camera angle?????
I only came on to see if I was the only one thinking it!😂

i hadnt thought that an old cow would be a good idea - but I really get your choice now !

I just love the chicken in your car. 😂 what beautiful cows, and to see the girls so happy around them is just lovely
All three children are delightful. They are so well behaved, and a credit to their parents.

Ok so I'm a 36 year old man's man and this video made me cry , one day this is what I want for my children
My favourite TH-cam family. The more of you and your animals the better!

Everyone needs a cow!
Love the cows, just worried about the horns! 😍🐄 😮

Well what a day, great learning tool. They will be well looked after.
Nice cow

Yeah it’s been outdoor morning milking all week. Probably easier to walk them up once machine milked though. 👍
Raw milk is so good for you!
Cows!!!!!! Looks like a few positive tests around the farm 🤔
Just what you need more chores.
Look grand, the horns 🤔 Theres a herd of longhorns up the road, now theyve got horns 😉

And so the farm family grows, pigs, sheep, goats and now a cow. Only thing missing is a horse for the girls, and not forgetting the chucks.
Chickens and Bunnies!
We have cows in the field next to us, we just don’t have to look after them :) Good luck with them.

I lost count of how many times I LOL'd watching this! 😄
How on earth will you find the time to look after cows?
Alpacas next???
“They just slip out”?? Was the swimming pool just practice for digging holes you can’t get out of???
😂 I'll be in that hole if I'm not careful!
👍
Awesome 👍🏻
Watch those children. Livestock cause so many accidents even the docile ones can hurt you.
You should always milk a cow from behind it cannot kick backwards
Maybe with a machine but I'm not sitting under that 💩 🚿
A working Bearded Collie?
3 or 4 of them. Lovely dogs. 👍
Not good they are not dehorned. They can hurt you and other cattle
Hopefully they get you
👊🫡😊
Do you know what type of cow's are they?
I really wanted the little Rose to say Steakhouse cow's 😳🫣 now that would have been hilarious 😂🤣
