Thanks, The brackets do hold it in place well, like with most things you should be mindful of what you're fixing into, because if the wall isn't strong enough it won't hold much
Hi Craig, I remember seeing you in big brother all them years ago! I’ve just recently bought a 800mm vanity unit. I have two questions , what height should they usually be off the floor? Also it will be going on a stud wall. I’m ok with fitting things, but my question is if it doesn’t line up with the beams will I need to cut out the plaster board and add a cls in the timber where it would be getting fitted onto?
@@MrandMrsDIY thanks Craig. 24 years ago, wow time has flown! I have measured everything and cut out the plaster board, I allowed 5cm inside of the vanity unit square so when it gets board back up nothing will get seen. I added in the timbers where needed for the brackets and added a few noggins to the strengthen up even more. I have also cut a square out of the floor to re route the waste pipe. I’ve done a nice neat and tidy job of it ready for my plumber mate to sort out the pipe. He said I have done most of the work for him haha. Many thanks for the replying and the advice!
Hi , sorry new to diy , so maybe a daft question . Before you drilled for holes , you did not check for wall studs to ensure that holes are aligning with wall studs . Thanks
Absolutely awesome video will be installing a 1 meter similar sink to this very soon , has the same wall fixings honestly thought they didnt look strong enough so got some extra wall brackets and may end up buying the legs as im very nervous it will hold up , one thing i noticed which im unsure on is you never attached the sink with silicone or some sort of adhesive to the vanity unit only to the tiles behind ?? The user manual i have has somthing about sticking the stink down any recommendations for that ? Thanks alot video was awesome
Cheers mate, yes you can put a line of grab adhesive on the tiles before you put the floating sink carcass into position, then hopefully it should hold it up easier for you! Thanks
If there is ply or concrete boards behind the tiles, that would be stronger, however if the walls are tiled onto plasterboard then you would require screwing the bracket into the stud framework. Cheers

There isn't really set high off the floor, it more depended on the depth of your unit its self
Yes cut away the plaster board behind and re-enforce the stud work, then ply between stud to get the best fix to make it last

I have vanity unit but it doesn't have brackets with it. Plumber said will install with longer stronger screws but will that be okay 😬
Just make sure that they can take the weight of the unit!

Yes you can do to make it a stronger install, but if your tiles are thick enough it should be okay

Quite easy to remove, some brackets can be a bit trinket to access when attached tho

might just be your beams expanding and contracting!

How high does the water outlet and drain pipe need to be from the ground for the vanity height to be just right?
This can different with different size units, when you have chosen which model it should give you recommended hight for pipework
