This video literally gave me my life back. It came up on my feed again and I teared up remembering how I would watch this on the tube for support. I used to stay indoors and avoid going out because I used to suffer endless panic attacks when travelling. This video and your book DARE has allowed me to overcome this.
My gp was impressed that I no longer take propranolol to control the symtoms and he will be recommending your book to his other anxious patients. All I needed to realise was that I wasn't in any danger. "The symptoms of anxiety are uncomfortable and not dangerous". This statement was the key to overcoming this easily fixable problem. I am panic free thanks to you!
Thank you so much for your hard work and I wish you the greatest success with your products.

i'm crying right now, from happiness, because I realised that I survived, that I'm alive. Every person, would always tell me: "calm down" and it made my panic attack worse. But your video, this...this is the most helpful for me and for others. Thank you so much.

So I don't have claustrophobia, that is clinically I'm not afraid of confined spaces per say. And I'm actually not even afraid of flying to be completely honest. I'm afraid of things I can't control or situations and places that I can't escape from. I have generalized anxiety disorder has suffered from it for the past 20 years, I have flown before some have been okay and I've had many that have been bad. I avoid flying because I'm afraid of having a panic attack 30,000 miles in the air. Because I know if I start having an attack I can't get up and walk around and put water on my face and do all the normal things I do to get myself out of that situation. I can't call for help I can't go to the hospital or anything. I am literally stuck there. I think that is a lot of people's fear more so than the actual flying itself. Because I've been on a few flights that absolutely didn't affect me at all most of it was when I was younger of course there's been a few during my anxiety can you they have been okay as well.

I just cried my eyes out because this video helped me so much. I got home from work at 4am and had a panic attack ever since. I have very bad gastritis and always thing that my pain is something else. I alway fear I am going to lose it. Or stop breathing or go crazy. This video is the truth and it works. Shake it out.

I've doing your technics for 3 years now and they do work. For me the panic attacks would occur while I'm driving, so when I feel the the panic getting starting I immediately "welcome" it and I tell my body to do its thing, yes, as crazy as it sounds I give my body "permission" to feel all the uncomfortable feelings and I imagine myself sitting back and observe myself , I start to feel less tense and my panic attack starts to pass, I don't fear it anymore... and all thanks to you. Good luck to everyone, I hope you give it try.

When I listened to this on Audible the next day I woke up a completely different person, I didn't want doctors or people to feel sorry for me, it made things worse, I needed a slap in the face, I didn't want to be afraid anymore. Best money I ever spend. I can't thank you enough, God bless you.

Love the pink noise soundtrack! lol, but as nuts as it sounds, ask for more, demand it, dare it, mock it.
I get you may be thinking 'why the hell would i do such a thing?'
Firstly a full blown 'Fight or flight' response ('panic attack' is such a poor label, you are not under attack, no more than your smoke alarm is trying to burn you) cannot get any worse, it's maxed out as it is, but demanding more, puts you in control, and if you are demanding enough, you get quite snotty at it, and that state is the pole opposite to fear, you cannot be angry and fearful at the same time. Soon your brain learns to go straight from For F to quite angry at it, and that is interrupting the old well worn pattern. Mess up the pattern, and it can't trigger so easily.
Has trying to be calm worked? probably not....what you resist, persists!
If what you're doing isn't working, change something.
Trust this technique. Repeat it every time, see yourself now, chest out..."Come on, is that all you got? BRING IT ON! MORE MORE!"
It's training your brain to quickly derail the old reaction. You will still have a thumping heart (Your heart is built to beat fast, run 100m, you'll see!) but you will feel empowered, not a victim of it.
Go looking for triggers (you heard me) had an episode in town? GO TO TOWN! demand it bring it on, "come on, where are you, I'm waiting!!!!" (You'll never have one if you seek them out, it doesnt fit the old pattern. Your brain has no procedure for this. Once you've proven they can't be found, your confidence will grow.

The thing is, yes i survived them physically, I didnt di,e my heart is still beating, but psychologically they DID hurt and they DID affect me. I may still be alive but the pain of the attack was real. So the whole theory of acting like nothing happened I find weird considering something did happen... That's the block Im at when using this technique, but im still reading through the books and using the audio tracks and striving forward Good luck to everyone out there, we will overcome these sensations!

I have brought up this exact same point to my doctor and I don't recall her having a very helpful response. For me, my panic attacks can be physically painful (throat tightening, body shaking). I find that what helps is I remind myself of why I have attacks, I have them because I believe I am dying and that fear is what fuels the pain. I then remind myself that that panic attacks cannot kill me and that if I let my body relax, say so what, there will be no lasting damage and the attack will be over much sooner. It's not a cure, but it's definitely helped a lot.

You're also psychologically affected by riding a roller coaster ride too. If you look at it as a bad thing then yes it will stand out as a bad memory. But if you remember how fun it was and the thrilling aspect of it then it becomes a good memory. The panic attacks are the same in nature. It's how you choose to remember the instance that defines how you feel about it now. Despite having endured many years of panic attacks so bad I have been hospitalized for some the fact is they weren't as bad as I thought they were at the time. I can look back now and say wow those were some pretty thrilling moments that I had a bad reaction to. But now here I am and my heart is healthy, I have normal brain function and my muscles aren't perpetually cramped. I survived all the attacks. Now how do I feel about them? What doesn't kill me makes me stronger. Next time I start to have a panic attack I tell myself the roller coaster is starting again. How am I going to react to it? Try to fight it, or just go with it. So far, going with it has been the best therapy I've discovered.

the effects are painful sometimes, but for me it's helpful just to remind myself that that's the way it's felt before, it sucks in the meantime, but it'll soon be over.

I hear what you're saying, but what this guy's point is... Is that every time you react negatively to your panic attacks, you are reinforcing their power over you. At the end of the day nothing major happened to you. As in the juice wasn't worth the squeeze, the amount of fear we experience when having panic attacks is not equal to what was actually happening to us which most of the time is nothing. I'm not saying these things don't hurt. I have had severe panic attacks and generalized anxiety disorder since I was 19 and I am now 37. There are few people that have had more panic attacks and at a stronger severity than mine. I've been hospitalized many many times due to this. I can tell you this, the least amount of power you can give these things the better. Every time you avoid flying, every time you avoid going over a bridge or certain social situations that tend to trigger you... The more you are reinforcing anxietys power over you. It's like a bully that keeps taking your lunch money until one day you finally punch him in the nose. Yes it's scary but its necessary. And while I somewhat agree with this video, I have had panic attacks that this will absolutely not touch. This is more for mild to moderate anxiety attacks. A full-blown panic attack is different and much stronger , so I can certainly relate to what you're saying. But don't let this shit defeat you. Remember if your body can do it, then it can certainly undo it

Started bawling after watching this. I’m a relatively new anxiety sufferer. Couple of years ago I had my first anxiety attack and it kind of all went downhill from there. Covid lockdown, lost my job, financial struggles, trying to find my identity as an adult and I started to spiral quickly. The past two years I’ve ran away from my symptoms and fears to try and stay comfortable but definitely have dug myself in a hole. Been using the dare app for a few weeks now. I’m struggling to let go of my symptoms and just let it be, but do find my brain thinking more positively about the future. I’m beating this shit in 2023.

They do pop! I'm a firefighter and I have experienced a number of panic attacks within the first 1-2 minutes of fighting fire. The thing is, is that I have already decided that I ain't stopping and just as I'm getting to the point where the sensations of panic feel like I can't take it any more, it pops. Perhaps it is the very physical activity that I'm participating in that speeds this process along, but this anxiety and dissipation probably all takes place within a minute or two. I also try and slow control my exhalations (purse my lips on exhalation) during the anxiety/panic phase . This seems counter intuitive, as it feels like your short of breath, but I think the physical sensations might be caused by hyperventilation (rapidly breathing off your carbon dioxide levels in the blood). Good luck to all of you learning to cope.

I will be flying in two weeks time and am scared to death from this upcoming experience... I have panic attacks which don't allow me to even get on the subway, not to mention planes... everything that might seem like a place I cannot escape I get panic attacks of. I am almost at the point where I will quit my studies, which is the reason I will be flying to another country, and will lock myself at home until I die... this is unbearable- my life has changed in such a drastic and dramatic way since I started getting those terrible panic attacks and I simply don't know how to get rid of them. The problem is... conscious actions like what you are advising here, as kind of you as it is to share it with all of us, cannot help me... I have tried times and times again to control IT... but it only seems like it is controlling me and every sphere of my life now. I begin to understand, as awful and dark as it might sound, who commit suicide because of these panic and anxiety disorders..

I haven't had panic attacks in a long time but today I was sitting in a car and suddenly I felt the "wave", I'm sure anyone who's had a panic attack knows what I mean. I managed to calm myself down before the actual attack but it was difficult because all these scary thoughts came into my head. I never thought of turning the panic into exitement, I'm gonna try that the next time I get a panic attack (hopefully I won't).

my panic attacks happen to me at the most awkward moments, i have often ordered food and then got into so much fear before collecting it. i feel people they're judging me. I begin to tremble and sweat and my head shakes so much it makes me look like a freak. thus preventing me wanting to face crowds. it's so embarrassing :/ I have found a cure but the cure for me is illegal. Good clean cannabis ( not the street stuff) indica has a great calming effect for me. but I have no choice to choose it. all the toxic legal meds i took in the past made my attacks worse as I got dependent on those legal drugs with bad side effects. cannabis does help me greatly. depending on the strain. potent strains of plants grown in poor conditions do not work for me. i'd love to legall be allowed to choose clean indica oil drops. , i eat clean, do not drink much. i also do lots of fitness and meditation. also thank you for your guided video. I will try next time to turn my attacks into excitement. lets see

Honestly my first panic attack was on June10th.
COVID making me scared, had to do online courses for the first time on my last semester of college and had no ceremony or party after where my family could take pictures and celebrate my graduation. The whole summer of 2020 I had plans to visit a girl I was talking to and visit my friend in the UK all gone due to COVID.
I basically slept late and slept in then my usual time around 8am in the morning. the spring wasn't warm till mid April so I stayed not working out, eating chips, and soda twice a week a whole bag or can. On June 10th 2:30am while playing TF2 I got my first panic attack. My parents door was locked and banged on it and they were groggy and as they rushed to find out whats wrong I told them to call an ambulance but my dad said to just sit down and breath. Eventually it subsided and they lectured me that sleeping late and playing games in the morning was bad for me. So I went to the doctor and now from June to September I was fine but having small tingels in my legs or arms and then on September 17th when getting into argument on Discord i had another Panic attack but this came and went quickly. After that I have no more panic attacks but following week heart palpitations for 4 days making not being able to sleep and I cried so much that if I did not sleep I will die.
So on October 2nd I went to a mental clinic and to sum it up briefly they diagnosed me with GAD and a week after meting a physiatrist he wanted to put me on pills. I said no and so I went on with my life.
October 8th I regained my sleep and got 6-7 hours of sleep. I do have anxiety still and over the weeks I found it hard but recently I heard you can recover fully from anxiety and any Disorder of anxiety. DOCTORs won't tell you but it is possible. I'm in the process of recovery and it will take time which is important but know that it is possible
Look up Dr. Claire Weekes, Shaan Kassam and D.A.R.E Responses and improvement Pill are really helping.
Trust me anxiety and panic attacks suck but they can go away forever, but if they comeback you will know by then on how to deal with the.

I have just one question about the idea of “pushing out your comfort zone” if I may. I personally suffer with chronic fatigue, and despite trying everything to increase my energy levels I tier very easily, which in turn makes doing lots of activity difficult at the best of times... any tips on how to broaden my horizon on a flat battery? :)

Claire Weekes wrote a lot about this sort of situation, her books are no more than p&p. She says in a commanding voice 'So what is you shake and sweat, who cares really, so what if the houses heave and your eyes can't focus'. And she is right, actually it doesn't matter and so what if people do. If you tell the stewardess you suffer from panic attacks they will keep and eye on you and if necessary you can go to the back with one of them and they will talk you through it as they are trained to do that. Now you may not feel you need to do that but to be able to tell yourself that there is help if you want can stop some of the stress. Actually shaking and sweating is one way the body releases the adrenalin. Would it really matter if you were a freak anyway you are unlikely to be discussing it with those who think that. Most people around you will actually realise what the problem is and probably distract you. Or you can tell them I am shaking because I am terrified and having a panic attack can you get some water for me or get the stewardess. This allows you to take some control. Some people go across the Atlantic repeating a sensence to themselves whether it is 'God grant me serenity' or 'I am going to die' or 'I'm okay' the repetition is the trick. Don't tense, let yourself shake as you are anyway and get maybe a lemonade or keeps some biscuits as you need the fluid and biscuits put quick sugar into a body who has pulled it all into the organs to protect you. Keep flying. Can't cope with it? Get some hypnotics (valium, Xanax) and fly with them. Don't force yourself to suffer un necessarily.
