This is the first time one of these videos understands that not all fear of flying is of crashing. My agoraphobia is so severe, I can't even look out the windows. Thank you!

I am not afraid of the plane, but afraid of my own mind, my anxiety and passing out.

If I could deal with the anticipation of take off - most of my flying fears would be cured. I hate waiting, I hate getting on the plane and finding my seat and just waiting for the plane to start up. I get overwhelmed with the speed of the plane and knowing we are going to be going super fast. Once we get off the ground, my panic subsides. It's these few minutes of waiting that kill me. I'm going to fly in a few days, a short flight but I've been stressing about those few minutes on the plane and about takeoff like my life is going to end. It is silly. I am going to use all these tips and all of the TFT that I have learned. If you have any extra pointers for take off preparation that would be so helpful!!

I really love your work. I had my first panic attack in an airplane in 2012 and it was the most terrifying thing - because I didnt know what it was. I was really suffering and then I found Panic Away, and it really made a huge difference. Demanding more REALLY WORKS. Especially since you're first instincts are to RUN AWAY. It doesnt hurt that your voice is also really calming and non-judgemental :) THANK YOU. Cape Town, South Africa.

Thank you for making this video. I feel like accepting works very well, it allows you to sit back and breathe more. Breathe and not letting your body tense up are huge difference makers.

I've flown all over half the world and I'm still uncomfortable on planes. I have low-level to moderate hyper-ventilation for the entire flight. You wouldnt think it was even physically possible but thats it for me every flight. I don't think water boarding would be worse torture.
    Just a grim struggle to try breath without it turning in to massive hyperventilation.For 1, 2 , 3, 4,6, 7, 8,9,10.............hour flights.
Absolute torture. And I've tried everything. And here's the kicker: it actually gets even worse if I try to read or listen to music. I start to hyperventilate even more quickly.
Fucken torture, but I have to travel so theres fuck all I can do about it.....
Only bit of flying I like is descent and landing

As a kid growing up I used to fly a lot and I used to love it and then I didn’t fly for about seven years then when I did again I was terrified I had no reason no situation that created that fear just came out of nowhere I’m not necessarily afraid of the plane crashing I just don’t like heights

I have a terrible fear of flying. I have a business trip in a few weeks and the anxiety is overwhelming to the point where I I'm getting diarrhea and heart palpitations. To make it worse, I have 2 connecting flights on the way home, and one of those flights is on one of those small regional jets. I know the odds are in my favor and the probability of anything bad happening is incredibly slim, but I just can't shake the fear that no matter how "good" the odds are, I AWAYS feel that MY flight will be that fatal one out of millions. I'm so tired of feeling this way. There's so many places I want to see that require flying. I know I can't predict the future and nothing is certain, but I don't wanna die from flying. I just wanna be able to enjoy flying, whether it be domestic or international, knowing that I'm gonna be ok and nothing bad will happen and that it's not my fate to die in a plane crash/explosion/incident/etc. I do wanna sign up for the SOAR courses but I can't afford it at the moment. My wife wants to fly to Hawaii next year for her birthday. I'm already nervous cos it's 100% over ocean.

What would you suggest for people being anxious once they arrive at their destination and they may feel "stuck" there instead of having fun on their holiday?

I am in the same struggle as you, my friend. I have a couple of flights coming up and the fear is already here. I love aviation. Wanted to be a pilot growing up and even got my private pilots license in high school. I have had anxiety for as long as I can remember but as I have gotten older it has developed and gotten worse for seasons and I have also had panic attacks in the past. I think my issue is not the flying itself...I am very knowledgeable with aviation. I know its safety and find it fascinating. I think I am scared of getting severe anxiety or a panic attack on the plane and having no where to go, no where to run to once the door closes and we are flying and being embarrassed as you say as to what other people might think. I know I will not die because of anxiety or a potential anxiety attack. It is a difficult beast to navigate and hard to pin down. I thought I had developed a fear of flying(and to a degree maybe I overthink things with flying now), but now after having watched this video, I think it is a fear of having anxiety and being stuck. Some other person commented on the video and said they had agoraphobia. Have you looked into this? When I just googled this and briefly read about it, I think I may have pin pointed what my issue is. It is complex but hopefully we can figure this out!

All these clips from experts do NOT address fear arising out of corruption in the aviation industry. Airlines cut corners with the procedures and lives are lost. How will a passenger know whether or not there has been diligent compliance with the rules???
