I finally bought a CNC this year and it has been a great addition to my shop. For some reason I always forget about making jigs and templates with it. Thanks for the reminder.
I do crafting woodworking, boxes, carvings for a hobby. I run CNC milling machines (Mazak) for a living. I said no way am I getting a CNC machine for my shop because I do that shit all day, and now I find myself looking at them. I'm am now officially interested. Thanks a lot Dave! , Lol. I bought your book (bandsaw boxes) before I found you on YT, great book, great channel. Subbed and binging on your videos.
Great video. I notice the stepcraft CNC machines in background. Would you do a review on that machine. Trying to decide btw Onefinity and Stepcraft. I would love to hear what you think. Thanks
Woodshop or not, I want to see and see machine as well as a lot of other tools and machines. That phone trick is really handy I was taught that in a college automation class. Depending on the application, certain waxes can also work
I have a CNC and like he was saying at the end, it's my all-in-one tool. I use it to flatten boards, cut projects, and everything else he said. Eventually I'll upgrade to a larger machine (I have my eyes on a Stepcraft machine) so I can do even bigger projects
I am keen to get either a cnc or laser for all those reasons you just mentioned. The possibilities are endless I love it. However at a minimum I need it so cut 1.2mm aluminium. Does the step craft do that?
Hello, its been awhile since you made this video, can you tell me how you like that machine, I’m looking at a used one, a 600D model and I know nothing about them. Thanks
There is a much easier process to trace tools into Vcarve and you will need something like a old flat screen tv, iPad or tracing board. Set the background to all white and place the tool on top. With the camera on an tripod take your first photo and scale the work piece to the photo. You will be able to do Bitmap trace in Vcarve and just import all the photos as needed. Can do hundreds at a time. ( tip the further you camera is from the tool the less perspective problems you will have)
A CNC would be a great add to my shop. I'm an engineer during the day so I could see myself really getting into the CAD part of the project. After that, let the machine do the work...
Dalhe my friend good afternoon, thank you very much for the indication but here in Brazil the cost of the machines not very expensive is different from your country, your channel is very didactic and top - big hug - likaço
The foam is some shade of a powdery magenta. One time it even appeared white or maybe it was light pink?! Who knows, time to dream about small CNC machines. :)
Most can including the Stepcraft. Problem is the laser needs to be low powered on an open system like this and can only engrave and cut very thin materials.
5 reason DP released two videos in three days. 1) bandsaw blade 2) jointer insert 3) keyless chuck 4) sawstop break 5) ww2 ts blade sorry Dave I had to lol.
Priced so high they dont even list it on their web site. Yeah.. Nah. Theres better trustworthy machines out there thats not afraid to show prices on their own store page.
I mean, I might complain at the US residents only thing though.... somehow a business that sells to pretty much all countries will only provide prizes for US residents.. like most giveaways having the US as the centre of the known world lol

Great vid, you have so many favorites. I've always loved your delivery. dead on balls accurate....thank you.
Best cnc video for the guy who doesn't make coasters... cheers !!
Bro. You're sofa king brilliant. Been using photoshop for twenty years and I never knew about the perspective fix.

Looks like the perfect size for a small shop. I love it.
I couldn’t agree more, a CNC is a game changer in the shop! 👍🏼
Love my CNC! It has been a great addition to my shop.
I’m about to move into my first house and can finally build a shop of my own. This CNC would give me a GREAT head start in doing so.
I've been considering the idea of getting one CNC for my projects. And this one fits perfectly for my needs.
Not having one really makes me wish I’d pursue this more. Thank you for all the insight and for showing that not all project work out. Love ya man!
Love it! This would make a great addition to my small garage shop!
Great Video, and yes, it is absolutely Pink
It does say pink on their website but I'm not sure I agree. 😁
I’ve got a CNC but it’s always great watching you big up a tool like this. Good luck to anyone who enters!
That foam, it’s pink, isn’t it? 😁
That machine would be a dream!!!
P.S. I love your content.
You also put a smile on my face,, and sometimes make me laugh
Thanks!!
Thanks Chris!
I’m not a maker, but now I’m brainstorming how I could use one. Especially with how affordable they have become now. Thanks!
Thanks for the awesome video!
This machine looks great. Do you have two of these now?
Great video. I notice the stepcraft CNC machines in background. Would you do a review on that machine. Trying to decide btw Onefinity and Stepcraft. I would love to hear what you think. Thanks
Nice video. CNC is certainly a useful tool to have. Organized work shop reduces stress. Mahalo for sharing! : )
There are no bad tools to have. They all serve a purpose along the way.
Definitely my favorite radius, ratiumi, ratily, radium, radiallo, radiaism...yes radiaism for sure!
I'm saving for my Stepcraft.
would LOVE to add this to my shop! keep up the great work!
Woodshop or not, I want to see and see machine as well as a lot of other tools and machines. That phone trick is really handy I was taught that in a college automation class. Depending on the application, certain waxes can also work
I really like how you did the tool cutouts- that was a cool process to see. A machinist buddy of mine always used to say "dead nuts on." 😄

Making drawers is a great reason to have one
Awesome, Dave! 😃
Some day I'm definitely going to get one like that! It would fit perfectly my space!
Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
pretty cool little CNC, I already have a hobby one, but I would think this one would be perfect for someone in an apartment.
I am keen to get either a cnc or laser for all those reasons you just mentioned. The possibilities are endless I love it. However at a minimum I need it so cut 1.2mm aluminium. Does the step craft do that?
Would you recommend millcraft or millwright cnc
What a sweet tool! “Picciuto rules!”
Thats a nice machine!
Hello, its been awhile since you made this video, can you tell me how you like that machine, I’m looking at a used one, a 600D model and I know nothing about them. Thanks
Love this new CNC! 👍👍✌️
Really great for making templates!
Definitely need a cnc upgrade to my shop
You can use a scanner for the tools that will fit on it instead of taking photos and worrying about scale and what not. I use it for CAD sometimes.
Cool small machine
I WILL have one of these one day!!
This could be a great tool for having a side hustle making things for flea markets.
That particular tip is my favorite, too. ;)

Have you tried cutting the layered foam on the CNC yet David? If so, did it cut well?
Yes it cuts very well. I posted a photo of one on Twitter a few days ago. Although for that I did use a special foam cutting bit
A CNC would be a great add to my shop. I'm an engineer during the day so I could see myself really getting into the CAD part of the project. After that, let the machine do the work...
the accuracy is a very cool feature. Might have to cnc myself a bigger woodshop though 😂
Looks good!
The lack of beard is freaking me out man lol.
Loving your vids bro, you inspired me to make my own wedding ring in one of your old ones
Oh sweet! That is awesome!
Stepcraft Me Baabbyyyy!!
I want a CNC soooooo bad! Great video as usual!
If your making small products for selling, a CNC is a must. I think this will be my next purchase.
Entered and crossing fingers! Lol! Thanks for the video and coordinating a giveaway!
Cool video. I was impressed that it cuts another material (foam) besides wood. Are there other materials it can cut besides wood and (pink) 😁foam?
Awsome machine!
Great video. I liked both pages and left a comment. Fingers crossed I win as I would love to learn how to make things with a CNC.
Dalhe my friend good afternoon, thank you very much for the indication but here in Brazil the cost of the machines not very expensive is different from your country, your channel is very didactic and top - big hug - likaço
I have wanted a CNC machine for years. Trying to figure out which one.
I love CNC!
Does it cut aluminum?
The foam is some shade of a powdery magenta. One time it even appeared white or maybe it was light pink?! Who knows, time to dream about small CNC machines. :)
An interesting device.
I wish I could upload a photo, but I have used my cheap desktop 3018 to carve out some 90 degree clamping squares (The real ones retail for $20).
Better title: “Have a friend with a CNC that understands all the techmology.”
Casey!
Can I use this cnc machine to duplicate some woodwork pieces that I already have? In other words, duplicate them. They are chopping boards
just about to pull the trigger on a Stepcraft M 1000...all i need to do is get the guts to hit send. 🙂
Nice
I want a cnc to also do Lazer cutting and routering
Most can including the Stepcraft. Problem is the laser needs to be low powered on an open system like this and can only engrave and cut very thin materials.
I just looked into it more and they even have 3d printing too.
I'm really want engraving
We ❤ your Video =)
I need one.!!... .... The workshop.
5 reason DP released two videos in three days.
1) bandsaw blade
2) jointer insert
3) keyless chuck
4) sawstop break
5) ww2 ts blade
sorry Dave I had to lol.
hahaha! I can't argue this.
Can it butter toast?
This would be a great series. "Will it butter?"
Fingers crossed on the giveaway!! nice
Who needs this when those in the know have a ghost cnc
I’ve always wanted a CNC. But I have to pay off my laser first haha.
I am always a little bit intimidated by all the computer programs that are involved. Is this managable?
PRICE?
Just curious if you've already picked a winner?
This is happening over on Instagram. May 10th. instagram.com/p/Cc0XO7usIsu/
CNC is next on the list for my home shop... Just need to persuade the wife....
Lilac.
ha!
You should've mention that the giveaway is just for US residents only
We did over on Instagram where the giveaway is. Sorry Sari.
Great info. Finally cncs are becoming affordable.
Whew! I was afraid CNCDan was going to replace CameraDan. 🥴
I used to want a CNC. I still do but I used to too.
Thanks Mitch!
CNC would be great to have but out of my price range as a hobby
Would love to add this to my wood shop! I actually set up an area in my shop juuuust in case I ever got a CNC.
FYI: The foam insulation is purple.
I don't Bill, might be pink. 😁
Well, a CNC and hand tools could be an entire shop. Other tools speed things up, that's all.
I thought you said you didn’t like using the router
Sometimes I like doing things I don’t like.
Would like a CNC but don’t really need it.
Instead of a picture, just place your tool in a cheap flatbed scanner
That foam is mauve!
Obviously it's pink. Obviously.
💓
I want to win the CNC
Priced so high they dont even list it on their web site. Yeah.. Nah. Theres better trustworthy machines out there thats not afraid to show prices on their own store page.
Hi Glenn! Prices are on their site. Thanks for watching! Appreciate it!
And one big reason I don't is $$$$$$$.
Love your content otherwise.
Obligatory comment
Eugh, why instagram? lol.
I kid. I mean, I'm not kidding, insta is crap but not legit complaining/gift horsing lol
I mean, I might complain at the US residents only thing though.... somehow a business that sells to pretty much all countries will only provide prizes for US residents.. like most giveaways having the US as the centre of the known world lol
Regulations makes it very difficult for me to do so.
I can trace the outline of my tools into foam and cut them out with a blade for free so this isnt a good reason
