- We show and discuss another rifle from the Sniper Central Collection. This time it is a SIG SSG3000. A solid sniper rifle for the money, at least the short time it was available in the United States. We talk about the history, the unique features and why we have it in our collection.

I bought my SSG3000 new about 6 years ago. I put a Vortex Razor HD Gen2 on top. I love the gun. The trigger is crisp; it is very well made. The ONLY drawback is the weight. She be heavy! But it helps with groupings. It literally stacks rounds at 100 yards (a dime), and a silver dollar at 200. I am still hoping to get a 600yd plate to shoot out in the desert. Soon! If you can find one of these, it is well worth it. 👍
If you need a new barrel or want to change caliber in your SSG 3000, there is a company called Benchmark Barrels that has quite a few offerings. In addition, they also offer magazines and magazine extensions.
I have had both the original 1:12 twist with the McMillan stock, and the newer version shown in the video which is 1:11 twist. I used U.S. Optic scopes, SN3 3-17, and a B25 5-25 on my newer SSG. Outstanding systems, both. Cannot say enough about the SSG or U.S. Optics.

SSG 3000 is the same rifle as the STR 200 wich is the defactor competition rifle in scandinavia..
STR 200 is widely available here mainly in 6.5x55, but as the system is a barrel swap system like Sauer 200 you can change to similar bold head dimensions like 308, 6.5 CM (why would you ever?) and similar.
They have just started selling these again in UK , same stock except for the cheek piece which they have changed to a solid adjustable piece and you can purchase 10 round mags. The rifle is selling for £1800 and is worth every penny, Awesome
These were change barrel rifles & cost $6500 with a 1-6 S&B scope then they changed stocks brought them to the US & sold for $1800. These were made so the shooter could adjust everything no gunsmith needed & SIG sold off the barrels including 22lr by CDNN. Same action as the Scandinavion Target Rifle STR200 which are very popular as are these all over the world. They are long action & will take 30-06. Most accurate rifle I've ever shot. I had 5.
Nice to see a new video on the SSG 3000!! I purchased mine from Sig in NH many yrs. ago right before the import restrictions. Mine is outfitted w/the QD sound suppressor and the Sig Electro -Optic 5-30-56 scope. Total Bad A_ _ !! Bring on the zombies
I have two SSG 3000's. One is the early model (1st generation) with the McMillan stock and the second one, is the model you are showing. I have since purchased and added a McMillan stock on the second one and I am leaving it .308. The early model, now has a custom barrel, made by Benchmark Barrel's, in .260 Remington. It was great to shoot before, but now it is a phenomenal rifle! So if you have an SSG 3000 and are looking to get a custom barrel made for it, contact Benchmark Barrels.
FYI - You can buy a 6.5 Creedmoor aftermarket barrel. Plug-n-play.
Sig Sauer announced yesterday that they are moving all production from Germany to the US, so the SSG3000 might be more available for you guys in the future.
This is derived from Sauer 200 STR Match rifle, chambered in .308 and 6.5x55 Scan. They are easy to find, and good priced. Same as the 1st Gen,but you can take woodstock off and put on a McMillan. Lot of parts or barreled action only also.
Scope, check for a Hensholdt/Zeiss SSG 3-12x56 model for something unique.
Your scope ideas was exactly what I was thinking! Maybe a Kahles as well. Love Hensoldt scopes....
I have 5 unfired all made in Germany. Also 2 barrel adapters & barrels are made in the US in most calibers that drop right in. They are made so no gunsmith is ever needed. Most accurate rifle I've shot. 1/4" MOA
the Trigger can also be set between 2.8 & 3.7 lbs

Great point. Add an option for 6.5 Creedmoor in addition to .308 and it would be a huge hit at that price.
@@snipercentral8160 I couldn't agree more. I myself have 3 different budget Stevens 200 action builds with McGowen bull barrels, McMillian stocks, harris bipods,badger ordinance pic. Rails and SWFA fixed 10x and they "ALL" were more than the Sig SSG-3000☆☆☆☆☆
@@snipercentral8160 Benchmark Barrels makes custom barrels for the SSG 3000. And they do make a 6.5 Creedmoor and they make fantastic barrels! I know, because I use their product!
