I’m kind of a slow runner and recently bought the Cloudeclipse, it’s really comfortable and kinda make me run slightly faster. I went from pace 9 to 8 (in km) with this shoes.

Great video guys, had a pair of 1080v10 a few years back and, while I liked it, I did think it was very soft so not gone near them since. I bought the On Cloud Eclipse after having a pair of Cloudsurfer 7 and loving them. Definitely true to size and have a much better ride than the NB once you've run them in. I love mine and think they are On's best ever shoe!

The On Cloud Eclipse was so good for my running style and seems that these shoes were made to be used during hot summer days that I ended buying my second ON shoes a few weeks later: Cloud Stratus 3.
By the way the Eclipse is an overall a better shoes > Stratus 3.
For my liking and way of running and where I run, I do prefer On over the fragile NB shoes. But the 1080v13 is not bad shoes, it is super luxurious and cushioning, but for my running style it is more of an amazing casual shoes and average running shoes.

I love Cloudeclipse, bought it after your video comparing on shoes. Even the more V4 was a lazy shoe when it comes to long distances. I am an overweight runner so this soft fresh foam annoys me. Thank you for your help, and consider adding overweight member to your team

Hi guys. I'm a big fan of NB but thought the 1080 v13 was just too soft for my liking. Was thinking of getting the Eclipse, but can't find any local shops who have them in stock to try on.
I did find a pretty similar shoe from Adidas locally that I really liked, although the upper wasn't as comfortable. It was the Switch FWD.
Hoping to see you guys review that shoe and other similar "max cushion, bouncy, but not as squishy as 1080 v13" type of shoes in the future and comparing them.

I want to get back into running and unfortunately I can only road run which leaves my knees, shins, ankles tight. I'll probably only run/walk within 2-4 miles at a time. I used to like hokas but they don't seem to be as great anymore. Also I have somewhat hight arches. Any recommendations folks?

I know you said you don't like Hokas anymore, but give the Clifton 9 a try. I don't have particularly high arches, but my feet has a tendency to supinate because of an injury I had in the past. When I tried on the 1080v13 at the store, just walking around in them I could already feel my ankles starting to roll outwards a bit because of how soft the foam is. The Clifton 9 is just the right amount of softness and cushioning for me, personally.
I wish I could comment on the Clouds, but I cannot find any available locally where I'm at to give them a try. That's why I'm also watching these comparison videos 😂

@KneeTaps I used to love Hokas but they just aren't the same anymore. There are way too many shoe brand styles and none seem to be reasonably priced or cushioned correctly. It's annoying and most places in my parts don't carry most of them leaving me here researching lol and risking online ordering

@taylorburke5388 I hear ya. I have the same problem locally where I'm at having a short supply of good running shoes to try on before buying haha 😂
Anyway, I have a suggestion for you, which is something I used to do back when I was still in college and couldn't afford to splurge on shoes much.
Get any shoe that you already find fits you comfortably and has a decent outsole for running. It's OK if it doesn't have the best midsole as long as it's flexible enough so your toes can bend easily, but still firm enough for stability for your high arches. Good outsole is more important for durability and traction.
Then, just buy an insole that has super plush cushioning instead for much less money, and stuff that in your shoe. Even now, I still do this for shoes that I find uncomfortable to wear but still use because of a specific style, as well as for dress shoes, for instance, or work boots.
Personally, I like to use Spenco's cross training or heavy duty insoles (whichever's cheaper at the time you get them as they're practically identical, just marketed differently).
Once you find insoles that fit you well, shoes will last you decades if they don't fall apart first 😂 Good thing is those insoles can even last longer than some of your shoes, so you can switch them out to another shoe and reuse them over and over again. Only time they can bottom out is if you do a lot of heavy lifting with them.
One disadvantage of wearing insoles, though, is that you lose a lot of ground feel. Probably not an issue for you if you're looking at max cushion shoes.

I normally like your reviews but have to disagree with your latest NB 1080v 13 vids. The 1080 v13 is narrow, unstable and so damn soft that running is almost futile. How can you say that the normal width 1080v 13 feels roomy? It´s narrow! The On Cloudeclipse is roomy, esp. in the midfoot, yet the upper feels secure, that´s why I like it.
I´m not here to hype On shoes but the 1080v 13 sucks big time and apart from some online testers, everyone seems to know that. I liked the 1080v10 btw, had 2 pairs - great shoes.

Would you reccommend on cloud surfer, on cloud eclipse , nb1080v13 , for a beginner?

    • @jimbeam4736
      @jimbeam4736 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@win3326 I don´t know what being a beginner has to do with shoes. Wear the ones that fit and feel natural to run in. Finding the right kind of shoe is an individual process of trial & error. Good luck!

You must have wider feet than normal. My 1080 v13 is roomy for me and has much wider platform than oncloudelipse.

Shoes fit different people differently. It’s individual choice based on how they feel to you.. It’s hard to say what’s good for someone else based on your experience. But having said that you certainly can tell others how you love them.
