Balos is the shoe of the year for me. The foam is nowhere near as soft as most reviews suggest. It has a softness to it yet it's lively and lots of energy return. I just love the foam. Balos feels better for my long runs than SB 2. Hope Balos 2 will come with a higher stack.
total agree on the Rebel 4 - it has been a great shoe for me but lately as my marathon training plan adds more miles I am noticing there are limits to the mileage I should run in it. ...thinking 12 miles will be my max for that shoe. exploring options for my 18 mi run coming up.
I've had 2 pairs of the Rebel V4 and I've put 100 miles on the Balos. IMO the Balos is a much better shoe and worth the extra money. I find the Balos a much better shoe than the SC trainer V3 as well. Just overall more cushioned and stable, it's great for all paces.
Is the balos more stable than the 1080? I really liked the feel and fit of the 1080 but the squish and the narrow heel felt unstable. The rebel v4 destroyed my heel… that upper is harsh.
@@colinking5742 I ran in the 1080v11 but none of them since. I find the Balos just overall comfortable and the upper fits me well. The Balos does compress but I think it's the most stable NB shoe I've had.
@@femaciel I have both.. put 350 miles on the Vista and it has lost it's bounce. I'd compare the Vista to the SC trainer V1 but is overall lighter and more nimble than the NB. I really like both the Balos and Neo Vista but if I had to choose one I'd probably go for the Vista due to having more foam for longer runs. However, I've done 2 20 milers in the Balos with no issues so it's more than capable.
Interesting perspectives. I actually returned my Rebel v.4, which is something I never do with running shoes, because I felt they had no energy return and not cushioned enough. I liked the Rebel v.2. I'll have to try the Balos.

Is Balos better for heel strikers? Rebel is ridiculously squishy in the heel
Rebel v4 is great for picking up the pace, but for easy runs the cushioning is pretty flat for me, though I’m a heavier runner (85k).
What about Balos vs 1080v14?

The Balos sounds like the perfect shoe but I'm not paying that amount for a shoe. Not gonna happen. Anything similar but cheaper from other brands?
Not sure why you'd pay £60 more for the Balos over the Rebel or even the Asics Nova Blast.

I cannot get over the heel on the fuelcell line… I’ve destroyed my heels in that thing. The balos felt really nice. That black is super ugly haha.
