I was stunned when I saw those flames. And I was even more shocked when I realised the car was also on fire down the road. I am very greatful that the fire was extinguished quickly by both teams and marshals. Not since Perth 2011 have I seen such big flames from a Supercar.
Car shouldn't have been dropped off the jack's with fuel under it, it also shouldn't have to be allowed leaving the pit box with that much fuel spilled under and over the car.
Hola gente!!!,me llamo Miguel soy de Buenos Aires,Argentina y quisiera saber x que canal de televisión puedo ver las carreras del Supercars?,gracias!!!

Make cars that can last a hole race on a full tank and you wouldn't have this problem. I understand races like Bathurst are exceptions to that but 70 laps come on
this is perhaps the dumbest thing I've ever read not only was this a freak accident, the fuel valve freaking broke ffs, but the logistics of making a *RACE CAR* with that level of fuel is beyond impossible they burn through more fuel in a single race than some people would use in a month, even if we take the most optomistic level of km per liter, that's still only 50 liters per 100 kilometers, compared to a Toyota Camry's 4.2-8.9 (depending on model and year) per 100km so to even make it around Townsville, which is 250km between 2 races, you'd need, minimum, 125 liter tanks, which to put in perspective, the biggest commercially sold car fuel tank is on a 2022 Ford F-150 and is 135 liters, you'd need to put a truck tank in a car, which fyi, will absolutely not work
It's nice to see all teams working together to put down the fire.

And that car that caught alight at Perth was also a BJR Commodore

anyone see the guy in the garage on fire? Looked like it appeared towards his face. Luckily for him the extinshier guy was right there to douse him.
Up most respect to Penrite Racing team.
Please upload videos like this more often.
This upload was longer than the Race Highlights
Even though there was a tragedy, here I salute the opposing team to help put out the fire
Is this your longest video you've ever made
In 2019? Yes

“Geez is that a tent?”
The only time Percat's on fire is when he's literally on fire.
It had to be BJR I swear that team has the worst luck of any supercar team
And Nick Percat doesn't have much as a driver either having that big brake failure at the Australian GP round...

No need to go running around like headless chickens because of one very rare incident when no one was even hurt.
Get to work and design one
