    This is one of my favorites. Sometimes it seems to take longer to put it together than it did to crochet it. I will add the edge idea to mine from now on. Thanks for the idea, Mikey!

    Mikey is a master not only presenting wonderful projects, but instructing us. I never imagined I would be able to manage some crochet stitches, but I did accomplish them. I've made many patterns and have spread the word about this channel. Thanks Mikey and the Crochet Crowd.

    I'm watching you sew the mistake together and totally feeling your future pain. Part of what makes you an amazing and fun teacher is that you don't hesitate to show your human side aka mistakes. I could SO see myself making that same mistake if you hadn't shared that and I've been crocheting for 52 years although I am WAY out of practice (switched to about 90% knitting for about 25 years) which is why I love your tutorials and experience hints. I'm definitely going to make one of these... Or a few.

    Mikey, easy-YES! The sailors knot dishcloth should be no problem at all for a beginner! I don't trust my left handedness in doing this pattern backwards. I can't get the instructions printout done backwards for my benefit. I "see" myself as a "d@#+" reject due to my reversed programming. No one even wants to help me get it to "appear" right when I finish my attempt to do it. It looks FABULOUS! Doug

    What a cool looking pattern. I think it would make a really cool baby blanket on a larger scale. Don't quite know how to do that, ie. increasing the number of stitches to each row.

    Hi Mikey! Got another question, or a couple, actually. Do you have to start the rows in the back bump? I find this really difficult due to the cotton yarn that does not give or stretch at all. I do crochet loosely and even then trying to slip the hook through there and my crap cotton yarn, its a nightmare. I do need better yarn, but still. Also, on the 3rd row (and 4th) there would be more stitches before and after the middle stitch of the corner, correct? It's late, maybe I'm making it harder and my splitting 6 ply cotton...its like thread x 6!! I think I got this cotton in a mystery bag! I want to burn it right now! But this is beautiful! Maybe I should start over with better yarn! Thanks, Mikey! 💓

    • @beatricemae3786
      @beatricemae3786 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It gives a clean edge to your piece when you work in that back hump. I was not a fan at first, but I try to take my time to make sure to do it now. When I make an edge on a piece, it helps that look much neater. The more I do it, the faster I get at using it. My issues with it was I would lose count, I could not seem to get into the correct number, but with practice it has helped.

    I wonder if there's a similar pattern but smaller so this could be a coaster. That would be fantastic!

    • @ruthmaxwell60
      @ruthmaxwell60 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you used thinner yarn and a smaller hook size it will reduce the final size, that would be lovely.

  • @chrisgreek4285

    WRT to people not marking their stitches and then messing up, you asked “Is that mean?”. No. That’s called a self-correcting problem. 🤓
