I took my stock 89 nissan pathfinder over california and hurricane passes around 20 years ago. i didnt know any better as i was told by a coworker that i would be fine. I had just moved to that area from the east coast. There was a couple places where the trail was a bit off camber and let me know I was a bit in over my head. Once past Hurricane pass a rock sliced a tire and i was stuck on a steep incline without anyway to safely change my tire. Luckily for me a convoy of jeepers came by and got me going again. They evidently love that shit. I was able to finish but lesson learned.
This is a fun trip. I've been up and over it one time in a Jeep, going on to Chicken Corners, and I've been up and back down one time on my mountain bike. Years ago once you passed Hunter Canyon the road turned into a rough road requiring a lot of ground clearance. Now it has been smoothed and widened all the way to the beginning of Hurrah Pass, and there are a lot of new campgrounds out there beyond Hunter Canyon. Right at 6:58 in the video you can see the point in the cliff beyond and above you. On top of this cliff is Anticline Overlook accessible from south of Moab going out on Hatch Point. That overlook may only be a mile away from Hurrah Pass but it is many miles away by road.
Thanks for sharing. Your information was very helpful and the scenery is spectacular. It was very kind of you to take the effort to produce this. Blessings on you brother. Happy trails!
Hey! I ran into you and the pups last October on a side road out by Mussentuchit Sand Dune. I ended up pushing through that wash and made it to the end of that road. There were a couple nice overlooks where that road ends up dead ending. Thanks again for the beers! Looking forward to seeing more of your adventures, subscribed.
Tan taco if my memory serves me right? Great meeting you out there, you were the only person I saw for 3 days back there. I’ll have to check out further down that road next time I’m out that way.
@@Jtoverlander Yessir, tan taco with a GFC! Same, you were the only person I ran into, but I only did two nights. I was trying to find the way to Hondu Arch from the West. If you haven't been before check out Red's Canyon and McKay Flats. They're whats East of the big canyon that road dead ended on. There's a few abandoned Uranium mines with a decent amount of structures standing. The Hondu is really cool to see from the East down in that canyon. If you do head out that way, watch out for scorpions, no matter where I was camped I managed to see at least two.
great content, and the fact that you tell us how to get there, Hope to get out there in the next couple years. Next time include more of your handsome puppers. :D
This was very useful to me for a reason you probably didn’t anticipate. I’ve been wanting to hike Hunter Canyon, but wondering if I can get there in my completely stock Cherokee. Guess so! Thanks!
Is this not part of the White Rim Trail. I’d skip the WR and just do this if I could bring my dog since they’re not allowed in the WR. Great video. Thanks
Not part. At the end, you can see it looking out. If you take Shafer Trail down from Island in the sky, you make a right to WR or coming the other way, longer way, you make a left before you get to the switchbacks going up.
Nice video. Good looking dog. Ill be there later this year, planning on riding a bike w/ passenger. This looks pretty easy/doable. How much harder is it to get to Catacomb Rock and all the way to Chicken Corners?
I would like to know how you nade your deflating setup, it looks like a great way to air down... I went on that same trail, in Sept. of last year, I turned around and returned to camp where you ended the ride, I wanted to go further and maybe I will this year... Thanks for the video...
I've done this drive many times and continued down the backside in numerous types of vehicles from a Chevy Malibu to a stock Subaru outback. A truck is ideal but I've even seen a Tesla out there.
Depends how far you go, from where I ended the video, you can continue down the backside you can make a whole day out of it. Also depending on how fast you go it takes 30-40 minutes back to town. I’ve placed take out orders from the top there.
This looks awesome! I'm planning an overlanding trip for late july. I'm from Mexico so I'm not really familiar with all of the trails but am starting to find great ones like these! Any recommendations for the trip? Will be there for around a week. New subscriber here!
I hope you have a great time. Moab is a special & beautiful place. My favorite part of Moab other than the trails is the food. I highly recommend Eggs Benedict from Jailhouse Cafe , Chicken mole enchiladas at Fiesta Mexicana, Brisket from Spitfire Smokehouse, and of course Burgers at Milts. Zion is worth driving through only a few hours away if you haven’t done that yet also.

So many roads to go down out there. Love it.
Great drone work thanks. I hope to ride my bike out from Denver someday!
Definitely our favorite trail…so far!
Some incredible shots , kudos for the edit man this is beautiful, definitely gave me the itch to go there someday
Beautiful Jeep and dog. Thank you for video. I'm from North Dakota. Member of the "Flatland Jeeperz" lol. Someday I hope to go wheeling in Moab. :)
So nice. Getting out west is a bucket list item for us. That am for sharing!
just do it. ive been 6 times. tomorrows are not promised amigo.
Perfect video! I always turn around after the creek crossing. Didn’t realize it wasn’t that hard to continue up in a truck.
Very easy. In life, don't turn around at every minor challenge. Push onwards son. The reward and views are great.
Great trail overview. Very useful and well filmed.
Great video, love your Drone work, I was up there over the 4th of July, such an amazing area.
Thanks for posting! Excellent content!
Stunning! Will be over there over Christmas, will definitely put this trail on the list of must do.

Great video!
I recall cycling from Moab and up the first part of this road to the Ahab Trails. Lovely place.

Thank you. I was unsure about including how to get there so I’m glad the time lapse was appreciated.
This was awesome Man, those drone shots on a the big screen looked spectacular.
Thank You George !

yes
Always enjoy your video! Southern Utah is my favorite place for off roading. It's an excellent place to photograph and video.
Fantastic video! Amazing cinematography and really liked your voice overs as well!
Thank you I truly appreciate it. I look forward to getting back out and filming some more videos.
Great video thanks !
Looks awesome! I’ll have to check that out next time I’m in Utah. Nice work
You won’t regret it 👍
Great video, thanks for sharing your adventure. I’m looking forward to many more.
Or...have your own adventures and post your own vids.
Nice job! A beautiful place 😁
Very nice and great work! Could you do this with all the trails? It would make them a lot easier to find. 😊
Great job, nice video !!
Thanks
Great video 🔥🔥🔥🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Awesome video. How long round trip?
Might go to this trail friday
This is awesome
It was amazing out there!!! Nice video!
Thank you
How many miles is that? And how long did it take ?

www.speedflate.com
it gets bouncier and rockier past that point but worth it. we do it on utv's
This video is worth a like and subscribe Thanks
Thank you

Great presentation and editing. What drone were you flying? Your drone footage was awesome. Thanks for sharing! 😀👍
Mavic 2 pro and DJI mini 3 pro.
Spent about 4 hours color grading the video.
i have 2007 tundra, do you suggest I bring a lot of extra gas on this trip?
Does anyone know if a stock 2024 Tundra Limited 4x4 TRD OFF ROAD can do these two trails?
Can my 2023 sequoia go here with just regular stock tires?
Would a stock 2023 F150 FX4 crewcab with K03s make this?
How long is the trail - there and back?
41.6 out and back. I leave around sunrise time if not before. Even after breakfast is fine but not much later.
Awesome good work
Thank you
@bustabeatgeorge brought me here!
About how much time out and back? Full day needed or half day?
Depends how far you go, from where I ended the video, you can continue down the backside you can make a whole day out of it. Also depending on how fast you go it takes 30-40 minutes back to town. I’ve placed take out orders from the top there.
Love the bull bar you have on your stock steel bumper. Can you let me know what brand/model the bull bar is. Thanks.
Warn .They make 3 versions, a high, mid and low .
Great video…. How is the weather in Utah around February? Bringing the family to do some off roaring in Moab
Haven’t been there during that time of year.
Cold with possible snow on the ground. Youre going to be pretty hit or miss for off roading that time of year.
Do you really think it’s important to air down on this trail? I’ve driven it in UTV and it seemed easy.
what kind of system do you use to air down / up
ARB dual, mounted under the hood.
Great video. What drone system are you using?
Drone footage was with a DJI mavic 2 pro and a DJI mini 3 pro

did you go?
@@MOAB-UT I did along with 2 tacomas. Was a great trip!
Would a stock 2nd Gen Sequoia make this trail?
I don’t see why it couldn’t.
Is it 2wd friendly for a truck with 35s?
possible indeed- only a few spots might be tricky but i could do it.
Did you need 4wd to do this trail or can a stock 2wd make it ok .
4wd is better 2wd is possible
I show in the video where I would recommend having 4x4 from that point onwards.
can an AWD SUV with AT tires handle this trail or do I need a 4WD with low range? nice video, i enjoyed it.
How much ground clearance?
We did it in a Subaru OB Onyx XT with AT tires aired down to 20. 8.7" of ground clearance on our vehicle, and had no problems getting up to the pass.
i did in in the winter with a FWD rental if that helps you. no issues.
Any camping allowed?
Yes, there are several campgrounds, I believe it was $20/night.
Can you ride ATVs on this trail?
I saw side by sides and motorcycles so I’m assuming so but there is OHV info online you can check for a certain answer
Your video is more about your Jeep than the scenery.
This video scratched the surface of what’s in the jeep. Out of 25k people your the first to suggest that.
That looks very much on a road, no? Lol.
