My trailer originally came with loading guides that were made entirely out of PVC. They were flimsy and broke after a few year. I've been loading my boat with out them and usually it's not an issue but this spring/summer has been especially windy making it hard to load, especially with the bimini up. Finally, I decided to replace them. All the parts cost about $175 and the installation was about 30-45 minutes. I pretty straight forward job.

I have the Wahoo 16.2 dual console with a 50 hp Johnson. Personally I'd glue on the pvc cap and pin the pvc tube as I've seen them float away. Thanks for the video.
Thank you!
That was a useful tip about measuring the beam! Thanks!
Thank you! I am glad it was helpful. Cheers!
Thank you 👍🏼
You’re very welcome 😊! Thanks for your comment.
you are supposed to cross the u bolts, that's why one of them has a notch
Thank you. True, but as you can see in the video, they wont fit crossed on that size frame.
@@blockprojects good point thanks for the explanation
The ubolts are allowed to be used 2 different ways for trailer beam width
how did you figure 12 1/2
Hey! Do you mean from the back of the trailer, for placement? 12 1/2 was just to make sure they were the same on both sides. I put the guides as far back on the trailer as I could without intervening with the other hardware. There is a cross member on my trailer, and the mounting for that ends at 12 inches. I gave the guide brackets 1/2 inches clearance from those. Is that helpful?
YOU CAN TELL WHOEVER HAD THAT TRAILER BEFORE YOU DID POOR MAINTENANCE ON THAT TRAILER.
Yeah, it was trashed when I got it. been repairing one thing at a time as it fails. What stands out for you?
alot of salt damage. trailer should be washed down and coated before and after the ramp. you can get away with not washing your hull right away. but trailers you cant. very typical for people to prioritize their boat before their trailer not knowing the trailer needs attention right away.@@blockprojects
Oh yeah! So true. Thank you
