An absolute delight to watch, the list of games is just so good and the presentation is concise and insightful. Clearly made by someone who has played every title and thought critically about each experience. Even the genres I usually shy away from have been made to sound fascinating and essential. Thank you for so many great recommendations.
I always love to see a new video! you definitely help fuel my indie game obsession. only addition I'd make is Neo Cab. It belongs to the cyberpunk/dystopia category and something about the combination of resource-based decision-making, fascinating characters, and unraveling emotional story really resonated with me so I couldn't recommend it enough
Please don't stop making videos man. I love your list videos so much I watch the entire thing even with my super short attention span. I will definitely be checking some of these games out bc of you
You always make such thoughtful and well researched videos. Some of my favorite games have come from your recommendations. Keep up the good work, it's not going unnoticed.
I think it'd struggle with listing 50 good indies I'd recommend, let alone 50 of a specific genre. You are an inspiration! And thank you for the recommendations, I haven't finished the video but already saw a few games I think it'd love
Incredible work, these videos are always a delight! As far as sci-fi games I would recommend "1000xRESIST", a game set thousands of years into the future where all of humanity has gone extinct from an alien invasion except for a girl called Iris who has created clones of herself to fend said aliens off. Its writing and presentation are wildly evocative and disarming, and its story and theming are at the same time beautifully grounded as well as impossibly expansive and existential. My favorite game of 2024 personally, it spoke to me in a way few stories have.
thanks so much for all your hard work in putting this together, i've played several of your recommendations, but have also added several new to me games to my list to explore.
Unsure which do/not count as indie but: The Entropy Centre: puzzle games revolving around rewinding objects, set on a moon base that acts as an undo button for disasters on earth Journey to the Savage Planet: cartoonish adventure game where you try to survive on an alien planet Red Matter: VR puzzle game about piecing together a mysterious disaster on a russian-coded marse base The Swapper: puzzle platformer revolving around placing and swapping control between clones of your character Also Deliver us the Moon has two sequels: Deliver us Mars and upcoming Deliver us Home.
Paradise Killer is a great indie sci-fi with a vibe different to anything else in this video. It probably fits into the horror/mystery section but it could debatably fit somewhere else.
Too lazy to write descriptions: - Norco. Low-key cyberpunk. - 1000xResist. Alien invasion. - Lacuna. Megacity noir detective (also Between Horizons from the same dev which I haven't played yet. Spaceship colony detective). - Anodyne 2: Return to Dust. Alien planet. - Umurangi Generation. Alien invasion.
why does everyone always glaze NMS, it's got more content but it has the same fundamnetal problem it did at launch: it's as wide as the ocean, but as deep as a puddle.

I'm so happy to see you back with a huge indie games video. Thanks for your clever analysis and thoughtful narration

Sunless Skies (2017)
Technically a space game, maybe breaks your rule by not including steampunk. I loved it and played over 100 hours.
Great video about great games
I’m glad Kenshi was mentioned :)
Great list
Damn, great video

Sable was released in 2021
What is the game at 4:21 - 4:25? I've watched the entire video and it wasn't presented or mentioned again.
love your videos but can u add subtitles because at times ( as a non-native speaker) its difficult to understand what ur saying
