"Low" from David Bowie was one of the earliest examples of post-rock and really the whole Berlin trilogy was so influential to later punk, post punk and new wave adjacent genres.

Solid list, props for adding BtEoT, hometown homies. They are usually overlooked. I actually started one of the first post-rock bands in Texas called Enloom. Currently releasing my debut “solo” album dedicated to post-rock and featuring many inspiring artists from the community. Take a peek.

Rock Action was the album that opened the doors of post-rock for me. I think it's SUPER underrated. Thanks for your list!

Nice video. I guess I need to give Wander another shot because I didn’t love their 2021 album too much, I’ll have to try out March. I’ve also never heard of any the End of Tonight but that preview sounded great so I’m keen on listening to the full album this afternoon.
Lots of great picks, too. I think Guidance is my favorite RC album, you nailed it. I think that EITS album you chose is something really special as well. Easily has the most “bite” of their discography.
Also HUGE praise for that DMST pick. What a gem of a record. We’re overdue for a followup.
Couldn’t possibly rank them but I think my top choices would be something like…
    • Jakob: Solace
    • Yndi Halda: Enjoy Eternal Bliss
    • The Evpatoria Report: Golevka
Wondering if you had any thoughts on any of these lesser known post-rock names. I hold them all in high regard.
    Keep up the content. 👍

Thanks! Yeah I’ve heard of those bands you mention and haven’t gave them a listen. I heard they are classics for the post rock genre and will like to give them a listen and hopefully get lost in the albums.

@@C.good2damax Cheers. 👍 Just wanted to swing by and say thank for that By the End of Tonight rec, because it's incredibly rad. Totally get what you mean about the energy it brings; took me back to when I was obsessed with Giraffes? Giraffes! and You Slut! amid my math rock phase. Great stuff, I can't wait to revisit it. Wander's "March" also treated me way good, better than I thought it would. I guess I owe Home another listen.

Eskimo Kiss by Years of Rice and Salt is the song that introduced me to the emaculate desolation known as Post Rock.
This song specifically has a slow build (it doesn't start picking up until the 2 minute mark), but it's great for when you're trying to study or be at ease.

I'm surprised there was no mention of Sunlight Ascending. I found them completely by accident and their track (Spring) This Was Your Place found me. It was from their album You Don't Belong Here. That track has a special place in my heart and it absolutely spoke to me on all levels

Great video! Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I'll definitely check out the albums I haven't come across yet.
For me it'd be almost impossible to rank these records, so without any particular order:
    - If These Trees Could Talk: The Bones of a Dying World
    - April Rain: Waiting for Sunrise
    - pg.lost: It's Not Me, It's You
    - powder! go away: laika still wants go home
    - Tides From Nebula: Aura
    - Toundra: (II)
    - Balmorhea: Rivers Arms
    - I am waiting for you last summer - Edge Party
    - 65daysofstatic - The Fall Of Math
    - The Shaking Sensations: Start Stop Worrying
These tunes have shaped my identity through different periods of my life. There is always a place in my heart for them no matter where this life take me.

Fully agree on the TWDY album. New others (both part 1 and 2) are both (extremely underrated) masterpieces. BTW, never hear of Wander, but this March song is extremely good!
