Lore for people who might be new to lullaby or people who might not be caught up with the Hypno creepypasta:
(A little long, but well worth it, it’s an interesting story)
This hypno is the one from the main week. His trainer and him were little and they were so close to each other, they were the bestest of friends, they had so much fun together, but then, some kids started picking on her, maybe picking on her for choosing hypno, maybe picking on her for other things, not quite sure. She wasn’t so bothered at first, but slowly, the harassment chipped at her sanity as she had nobody to help her. It got worse and worse to the point that the little girl was on the brink of a breakdown. She walked with hypno across the bridge, and there was a crowd of people. They start harassing her and making fun of her again, and unfortunately, she couldn’t take it anymore. She didn’t have anyone to help her with her struggles, so she jumped. She died in the water, maybe from impact, maybe from laying in the water, slowly drowning. The point is, nobody helped her. Nobody even felt any guilt. They all pointed and laughed at her shouting “SHE JUMPED HAHAHA” (this can be seen in the hypno origins art banbuds made) and hypno can’t do anything but look down. He is in shock. The crowd leaves eventually but all hypno can do is stare into the water. He feels like nothing without her. He realised she is all he ever had, and without her, he feels like he doesn’t have a purpose anymore (hence the name, bygone purposes). As he grows older, the trauma grows with him. He gets angrier and angrier and can’t hold his rage in, he always visits that bridge and then he swears he will get his revenge on those teens that bullied her into jumping off, and that is when he starts luring children into the forest and feasting on their dreams and fear, he also wants the parents of the children to suffer as they feel lonely and helpless, just like hypno was, staring down at his dead trainer in the water.

Hypno's backstory and what he started doing after his trainer's death reminds me of how most famous murderers and serial killers became what they became just because of childhood trauma. Damn.

This song hits so much harder when you realize the context behind this song, of him visiting the bridge everyday(i think) looking down at the river where his trainer had jumped off of from the harassment she would always get. But, seeing him currently standing there once again really does sink in as well, since hes only the way he is because of what lead his trainer, the only person he ever had, to do the unthinkable.

This is why Hypno's Lullaby is one of the best FNF mods out there, in my personal opinion.
It's literally designed perfectly, the story, everything.
The way this mod is done is like no other mod, especially how it developed.

To be honest the thing that most people don't think about is how intelligent all pokemon are. They understand language for humans and other species, battle smarts, but probably most important, feelings. Not saying animals don't have feelings but that means pokemon can feel emotions and feelings we do. So that means any pokemon can feel hatred, depression, and trauma. Now that means they can have the same reasoning for murder as for us, and have a pokemon a murderer is scary, any pokemon from a caterpie to a hydragon can become murderers, and this Hypno is a perfect example of how scary the pokemon universe really is
It's the one thing almost all pokemon media makes sure to bring upfront, the fact that almost all pokemon have varying degrees of sapience and they're not just unthinking animals, they can understand languages and ofc have all the traits you mentioned, however people just hear that they're based off of animals and immediately assume they're only beasts, or another example is the detective Pikachu movie making it seem like pokemon can't really understand humans very well despite the contrary being true.
So ofc if a pokemon knows the reasons behind the suicide of their beloved partner , something is going to come from that, and as we see in the mod, it wasn't something good this time.
some people just grieve differently and some times grieving makes you do terrible things to either yourself or to others

Don't forget isotope, the part before he says: "Am I a Joke To You?" Is so powerful, you feel glitchy reds anger, the rest of the song is still art, but the beginning before he says am I a joke to you Is absolutely incredible.

How I view it is that it is a timeskip, that after all these years, after all the trauma, the crimes, and the pain it has gone through, Hypno, even after becoming a monster, a husk of his former self, still goes to the same site where he lost his trainer, his only family...
And despite his trainer's spirit just out of reach, screaming for him to stop, wishing with all her might to help Hypno, she's still dead... She cannot help him...
Hypno is too far gone, all that remains is the soulless husk of a Pokémon that lost everything, and the little bit left of that poor little creature still goes back to the bridge...
To mourne the loss of both his trainer and himself.

I can explain Lbat. He does what he does out of vengeance. The lore to him states that his trainer one day had taken their own life and everyone laughed at her for doing such actions. He despises everyone and wants to kill everyone, thinking they’re heartless monsters and nothing more.

I see this entire song as Hypnos past self feeling sadness but when we cut into the future it’s the hypno who’s caused so much pain now he stands on the bridge that took it all from him and him thinks if this will be where he to ends it as he reflects on what he’s become a monster a husk of who he was he thinks how neither him or his trainer wanted this nobody wanted this and hypno now thinks what to do as this may sadly be the beta Option if he leaves he’ll most likely hurt again but his trainer soul cries out trying to reach him to tell him it’s okay that she forgives him and understands he’s in pain and only wants it to end hoping to help him move on but by now Hypnos to fat gone his only choices at least in his own mind is jump or continue the cycle once more

I suppose it's one of many points of view on the same subject. What defines Hypno, his past or his present? And is what Hypno is now really Hypno at all, or is it just a shell of a Pokemon that only survives for sake of vengeance?
How shameful, the pain human nature can bring. How cruel and unforgiving can we be. It really does sadden me that someone out there is or was probably living the same nightmare Hypno was a part of.

The reason why I say yamask is cus not only it's a tragic Pokemon also cus usually what creates a yamask is a human with regrets and they carry their "face" which is the mask.

Listening to this song I actually know how that Hypno feels because a couple of weeks ago I lost my grandmother who loved me and cared for me! It's really tough to move on after losing someone you love like a family member!

i think i have a theory for how hypno became the way he is
So we all know he is a pokemon, and we know he had a trainer. I said had because in the song "Bygone Purpose", we can see a smol bean version of him standing on the building, the song he is singing kind of gives you the idea that he is mourning the loss of his trainer, who jumped off the building. As the song progresses, his body turns into the hypno we all know. You can see he is just standing there, almost looking angry that his trainer is dead. Then we see the ghost of what i assume to be the trainer singing next to the angry hypno. This kind of goes to show that Hypno is doing this to take out his anger over the fact that his trainer is dead. And you can tell what kind of pokemon he is just by the name, Hypno. I think this, and his trainer jumping off the building, made him lose his mind and started hypno-tising everyone. But, hypnos trainer isnt the only dead one. I mean look at Gold, he died due to hypno-thermia. Sorry im getting off topic, i just wanted to point out that there are multiple dead trainers. Anyway, take a look at what he sings in safty lullaby. "Come little girlfriend come with me, boyfriend is waiting steadily." Hypno is obviously trying to lure girlfriend, and others into the forest or, somewhere. Why? Because he wants others to feel the pain that he has went through. Hypno standing there in grief on the building his trainer jumped off, thats the moment when he probably thought, "If I cant have my trainer, than NOBODY CAN" Implying that he is doing what he is doing is out of revenge. And look at the next song, Left Unchecked. This is where we see how insane Hypno has gone. His head detatched from his body because he put so much power into hypno-tising GF, and his Pendulum. But where it really gets insane is the third song, Lost Cause. This is the breaking point, and Hypno has gone completely insane. The amount of power he put in to the pendulum, turned him into an abomination of flesh as he still tries to hypno-tise girlfriend.
In conclusion, hypno became the way he is because he is getting revenge for his trainers death.

At the beginning of the first part of the old mod I thought "Shit bro, hypno is a pedophile", but now that I think about it and see what really happened, I can say that I have misjudged hypno, imagine losing someone so important to you, that person who helped you when you were sad or when you were alone, the one who accompanied you through thick and thin, all because of some stupid people who didn't care about the consequences of our actions and who harassed a poor little girl with his little Pokémon because yes...

It seems Hypno has post-murder clarity. Whenever he’s not murdering/kidnapping kids or playing Pokermon Uno with the boys, he’s grieving his trainer that died too soon.
Appearently his trainer died by jumping off that same building he sings on, so hypno became a heartless monster looking for the one who made his trainer jump off, hypno thought it was GF so he targeted her. In this song he’s basically going back through memories before they fade away into the dark cold mist… [EDIT]: at 0.75% speed makes it sound sadder

Honestly call me picky but I honestly prefer the leaked version just because it showed the process of hypno becoming the monster he is now
Other then that it is a good song, just slap those bits on at the music syncs, move the final result at the end of the song and voilà, perfect.

I think it should have done both where through out the its as it before with the flashes and maybe even at some point show him getting a bot bigger and monster like but not to the size he is now and then when song normally ends have an extended part probably mostly long notes showing him full size now i feel like thats a much but way of feeling the progression caused by pure rage
I prefer this one as I see it as not him becoming a monster but him on the same bridge thinking if he should do the same as he was a kind Pokémon once but all he brings now is death and pain and he thinks this is not what his trainer wanted this was never what HE wanted and now it’s either jump or continue to hurt as he’s to far gone now to change

My biggest problem is that there’s a mechanic where certain notes scroll at different speeds. That can throw a lot of people off, and remove the emotional impact. Same with the shock sounds for Alexis whenever she misses. I would personally remove those things, and even give them no missing animations. I want this sing to be the slowest, saddest, and easiest song in Hypno’s Lullaby V2 with no contest. Screw this mechanic. Also, considering how Alexis died, she should be floating downwards with a red light coming below, not ascending upwards from a bright one coming from above. She killed herself by jumping off a bridge. She committed suicide, and therefore murder. Since the person she murdered happened to be herself, Alexis wouldn’t be able to repent. Meaning she’ll be burning in Hell forever, all because there was no one to help her in her hard times.

odd that the down arrow goes slightly faster then every other one.
My crack theory? Symbolism. Hypno's trainer jumped off that bridge and left him behind because of the dogshit people that bullied her, and thus that arrow is faster because Hypno probably remembers it all going by faster than anything else in his life
Actually, if you see better, it’s the scroll speed, it keeps changing from fast to slow. I feel so bad for him
I don't know if I'm reaching here but the fact the up and down arrows are faster depending on who's singing could mean something
For example on hypnos part the up arrow is going faster which could be symbolic of him quickly become insane and on his trainers turn the down arrow is fastest being symbolic of the fall she took off the bridge

He's singing out of sorrow for his Trainer. Hypno's trainer was pushed off the bridge by her bullies, so now Hypno forever associates any people he comes across with the bullies that murdered his Trainer
