I definitely agree about McFarlane’s scale issues. It was a hard sell for 7 inch in the first place, but his figures don’t even scale well together. Mattel’s figures have such a great comic feel! Mattel’s biggest issues were distribution and QC. They did offer so many characters that I don’t see McFarlane ever touching
You’re right a huge issue with McFarlane’s line is also character choice. It’s insane how many D to F list characters he chooses over more popular ones. I know you can’t put all the good stuff out at once, but with the amount of figures he has released, by now you think he’d release a Zatanna or Black Canary.
I would agree. The biggest thing is not being able to scale mcfarlane figures with each other. Mattel scales better with other lines than mcfarlane does with its own.
Mattel as a line is definitely better. Macfarlane has more articulation sure but we can't compare articulation because it has advanced since DCUC came out. Mcfarlane is disappointing because of the following: 1. Scaling within the line 2. QC issues 3. Weird articulation engineering decisions 4. Proportions are all over the place I say DC should give the license to other companies like Jada to make 6-7 inch figures
I understand what you're saying and it might be true. I just started buying figures recently. One reasons that made me buy figures is the aesthetic and articulation, even though these companies are very far to achieve what even an old and impaired person can do with a limited body. What I mean is that is all about personal perference and point of view, although I can appreciate some figures that are not as aesthetic pleasing as some McFarlane are, and I must say, Batman version of Detective Comics 1000 looks worse in my opinion than old figures. McFarlane is trying too much trying to achieve too much with sculpt and modern articulation while cutting all possible corners he can. Sometimes this method of cheaping out shows in these figures but even still, you can adjust height and other imperfections in these figures. Superman Rebirth (and all figures in the Infected body mold) can have their height significantly increased. That keeps me interested in getting McFarlane figures, because they look good and can be easily improved. The thing I dislike in DC Multiverse is the obcure and dark themes, but that's part of the source material and I don't get the things I don't like. All lines have these things. I think people tend to look at the bright side in other lines and the negative side in the DC figures from McFarlane, overlooking the good aspects this figures offer.
@@JBTMR I don't know if you came across Bones' videos. He discusses these topics every once in a while and he made some comparisons between the current DC line from McFarlane versus DC Icons, DC Essentials and other lines. I agree with a lot of what he said in these videos.
Every person is a different world. I'm seeing the same image and I can't believe there is a person in the world that thinks the figures on the left are better the figures to the right. Even at the time they were released I prefered to get the Dc Direct figures to those abominations. Still, I'm glad that someone enjoys them.
I as I said everyone is entitled to their own opinion, so if you dislike the Mattel figures that’s fine. Just enjoy what you enjoy and thanks for watching
Mcfartlane is so much superior in almost every aspect that those old figs are almost happy meal crap. The faces were crap. They break, Even if there was a large character selection. The only thing I'll give the old multiverse line is they did a few good bafs. Especially kilowog. 😂❤💩
Superman might be important to dc history. But Todd is not wrong Batman sells. Look i love Superman and the whole dc universe. But all toy companies including Lego focus on batman

Exactly
half of McFarlane figures are the best dc figures ever made and half of them are the worst Dc figures ever made
I agree!
I would say it's more of
10% good
20% ok
70% bad
@@baroymorga6923 absolutely
@@baroymorga6923 I would agree before the most recent waves. The DC direct digital waves are my favorite of all DC action figures
Yeah the scale is a problem Like Titans Nightwing being way to short Nightwing shouldn't be shorter than wonder woman they're both 5'10
Agreed
