Beijing summer palace, then dumpling making in a private patio with lunch.

We took a tour of the Summer Palace in Beijing. This was the palace of "the dragon lady". She was a concubine who gained a lot of power and although not officially royalty was part of the elite.
This palace was very crowded and we did not have enough time there.
After leaving we went to the city center to a private residence with a patio. They made a buffet lunch and then we got a dumpling making lesson.
At the end of the day we went to Olympic park where all the building were lit. it was a large area and there was some food stalls but as it had been a long day we stayed towards the center. I would definitely go at night as I think it would be prettier than without all the lights on the buildings.
