    The second part just reminded me of that one joke I heard a while back:
    UK: We want a unicorn.
    EU: Unicorns don't exist. But you can have a pony instead.
    UK: We vote against your pony.
    EU: We already discussed this in detail: It's either a pony or nothing.
    UK: We vote against your pony.
    EU: Alright. Nothing it is.
    UK: We vote against your nothing.
    EU:...you really don't get it, do you?

    Honestly believe that the peasants are always forgotten in the end. Both sides forget that the common man just wants life to be as easy as possible. Couldnt imagine living in a place where all of a sudden a hard border is placed up. The likes of which Ireland and even Germany/Korea has seen. Whilst Germany/korea are extremist versions of this situation, going from one place to another within youre own shared "homeland" and having to be questioned every step of the way would instill rebellion in anyone after a while.

    1916 so called "rebellion" was not massive. It was committed by a few troublemakers by international standards. It was easily defeated by the local garrison which was poorly armed, as most British army weapons were in the world war 1 fronts.
    Also the rebels did not have widespread support until the reign of terror by the "blacks and Tans" whom were world war 1 soldiers hired as mercenaries after the great war ended. Many of the "Black and Tans" were suffering from PTSD and saw the Irish as traitors and acted horrible to Irish civilians.

    As ridiculous as this sounds there are a lot of benefits for those concerned.
    Canada already has a trade deal with the EU and is pursuing closer relations, a trust territory in Europe would help with trade and improve the economy of the border areas.
    We presently administer the longest open border in the world. That experience would go a long way in supporting the Good Friday Agreement.

But, I believe it is unethical for a sovereign state (a.k.a. the Republic of Ireland) to demand another to abstain from proceeding with upholding a vote the citizens of another country made. The British people voted to leave the European Union. The Republic of Ireland didn’t vote for them. The United States didn’t vote for them. The European Union didn’t vote for them. The citizens of the United Kingdom did. Respect the democratic institutions of another country or count yours forfeit. "And then the BREXIT vote happened", lol! Loved that part as well as your fadeout!
    On more serious terms though, I also hope for a peaceful resolution to what can seem to be a scary turn of events as all current affairs seem to be. All the best, Mr. Ruddy!

    Nice to know where the Chinese got their idea to import themselves into Tibet and then claim the local population wanted certain changes. Israel does it pretty well too. The plantations has to be the nicest word for cultural genocide I’ve ever heard

      @What what If you want to to know the real reason behind the EU look into Richard Coudenhove-Kalergi a Freemason. He started the Paneuropean Union which is the beginning of the EU. Look into his book I recommend starting with Practical Idealism: The Kalergi Plan to destroy European peoples. You will understand why the EU allows mass inv*sion.

    An Irish guy complained that the British soldiers shouldn't have responded with bullets when bricks were thrown at them. There are inexcusable atrocities that the British commited like Bloody Sunday, but seriously. Think about that one.

      Straight White British Protestant British unity? You must be joking!
      What unity has there been? Scots have laid down their lives fighting for your "union" and what thanks have we got? England takes our resources, uses our revenue to prop itself up and has the audacity to tell us that WE need THEM!
      That takes balls, and stupidity.
      You say 350 years? That's untrue, ever since the Union began there has been resistance to it, when the union was passed in 1707 there were riots in nearly every city in Scotland, martial law had to be enacted for goodness sake! and that resistance will not stop.
      We aren't listened to, and we never will be, so I will say to you, it is people like you who not only make me cringe, but make me physically sick.

    • @foolofhearts8126

      BrainCoolo Scotland actually would do really well for itself, we produce the majority of the UK's natural resources, we give it wealth, and Scottish regiments are the backbone of the army, tell me how that equates to a failed country?

    • @Worldschooler
      @Worldschooler 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Noticed that too. It was genocide. It's amazing how many people in Ireland (and my home of Boston) talk about the potato famine without calling it genocide.

    • @AshBashVids
      @AshBashVids 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Worldschooler To call it genocide isn't exactly accurate - yes, at first glance it can seem like it, and many factors do point to it to the point that many Irish historians have argued quite a bit about this, but frankly "mismanagement" or "neglect" are weirdly the best descriptors, especially due to a mixture of ultra-liberal economic policies (not in the wanky US sense, more as in neo-liberal) and anti-Irish sentiment at the time.
