    What is funny is that people will spend a lot of money in car audio but not in home audio and the home audio will be around a lot longer.

      I can listen to music in my car with $4500 Bowers & Wilkens an hour or more every day at a volume level that makes sense, and feel the base under my seat, with the surround sound, roof mounted speakers and acoustic windows. At home, my wife wont listen to music as loud as I do, and even the neighbors wont appreciate music that is not background music. So if you pay much for home audio, you must live far enough from others so you can use it right, and how often does that happen. Besides that I purchased vehicle used, so technically did not pay the $4500 :-)

    This one is missing SO many great options: 1 - executive package, 2 - massaging seats, 3 - B&W stereo, 4 - extended merino leather, 5 - driving assistance pro package and 6 - adaptive M suspension professional. I got all of those on mine and REALLY wish I'd gotten the alcantara headliner as well. I went with black sapphire metallic and these very same wheels. It's GORGEOUS.

    I think the engine noise and burbles you are hearing in the cabin are actually artificially pumped in via the sound system. The big complaint of the M60 over the M50 is the lack of an aggressive V8 sound. Easily fixed with an aftermarket exhaust/resonator delete.

    Regarding the climate controls, I completely agree with you about having physical climate control buttons. I currently own a 750ix. Every time I adjust the temperature, for the next 4-5 seconds, the screen then prompts a message that tells me I just adjusted the temperature. This causes the map to disappear, which has caused me to mis my exit several times. I am not so stupid to not be aware that if I change the temperature, the temperature will change! Talk about over engineering!!!!

    • @703Speed
      @703Speed  14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Supposedly BMW wants you to speak your controls. So instead of pushing buttons, they want you to push the microphone button and tell the car to turn the driver temperature to 68 degrees for example. Not sure I’m a fan of that, but it seems like it would make things easier? Idk, I haven’t used one daily so I’m not sure

    Comfort wise how does it compare to an x5 40i or 50e? Is it a huge difference or a marginal difference. Torn between getting a performance SUV but don’t wanna sacrifice on daily comfort as I am looking at a 50 miles daily commute.

      Same comfort. These seats are like sitting on a cloud. Some of the most comfortable seats I’ve sat in. The only thing I’d say about this car and your commute is to be ready to pay for gas lol. But if most of that is highway, this thing is actually pretty economical - and VERY fun to drive!

    I own a 2024 X5 M60i and my wife has the 2022 X5 M50i. The 50 sounded much better with more "pop pops". They both are fast, the 60 does have the sprint mode, if you pull both shift levers at same time it opens sprint mode and 40 more bhp for 10 seconds from the battery. Its great road trip car but he 50 is good as well. I hate the lack of buttons for things like heated seats and wheel. The tech is better in the 60 for sure. Good car but dont love it. Such a shame this X5 M60 doesn’t sound similar to the Mercedes GLE 63. This X5 deserves to growl like a V8, not the muffled noise coming from this exhaust.
    This particular colour scheme should have been optioned with the Gloss Black wheels, definitely not what’s on this X5. I’m also surprised that this X5 hasn’t got the shaved or flush door handles like the new X1 has. Would look far better having these old style handles eliminated altogether. But in saying all that, I would love to own an X5 M60!

I am always surprised how many of these I see driving around with the M Sport Pro (all blacked out) that still have shiny aluminum wheels. To me that just seems out of place. Having said that, at least in 2024 you had to go with a 22 inch wheel to get the black, and not everyone wants that ride.

    I absolutely hate the industry wide movement to screens for controlling climate and entertainment. I always chalked my aversion to it as a result of being, well, somewhat old. Nice to hear a young guy making the same complaint. Maybe the manufacturers will listen. BMW's used to have classy interiors. Even the beautiful Porsche and Audi interiors have been ruined by screens.

    Nice video, but reviewing a fully equipped vehicle will even be better. Most people will spend $90k on a car for the driving pleasure, but not $95k to make it twice as good. For example the B&W audio takes you to another level. Its no longer a fast car, its a fast concert, and the bass under the seats are amazing. If you take the 2 axle suspension, it becomes a transformer. If you put the car in Sport+ mode, it lowers by 4 cm, first the front then the rear - this is so cool, but it makes a huge difference in the riding especially if you have 22" wheels. Ride is soft, but in Sport+ its a sports car. The massaging seats are actually very good for long rides and the ventilated seats, and so on. I know its not just about features, but this car is about features, power, driving experience and if you leave out the features you kind of miss how good it really is...

    The margin between M40i and M60i worth 15k? The X5 M40i already out accelerates 95% of all cars (SUVs and sedans) on the road. Only other BMWs, Porsches and those super sport cars can out accelerate a X5 40i. Plus BMW in-line 6 B58 cost a lot less in maintenance than the V8.

    • @me2-21
      @me2-21 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I own an X5 M50i and M550i, and was hesitant to buy a V8 as well. But ended up with 2 of them and don't regret so far. It's not just about being quicker than others - it is about feelings you get: acceleration is not just fast - it is violent, it sounds better, and it's great to know that you have more for any situation.
      For me the deal breaker to try V8 was the lack of certain options for B58. On a good note, I was able to get big discounts, which weren't available for models with B58. So with extra options you get the price difference wasn't that big.

    Responding to your comments about climate control in the screen (vs physical controls). I feel like we have been down this road before. Remember back in the early to mid 2010s when Ford was really pushing capacitive buttons for climate control and audio control? I think Honda did it too…and maybe others. Yes, I hate the screen buttons. I drive 2022 X7 fully loaded and will not be jumping into X5 as much as I want to. I want actual buttons like most people. Fire the person who designed new X7. It is ugly as hell. Also please make X5 back seats recline. I have teen kids and on long trips it would be very nice to have. I am happy with my X7 and will keep it till new X7 looks change to better and get physical buttons + reclining bench

      The older X7's look so much better imo than the new one.. I agree - I can't believe the seats don't recline.. Especially at this price point.. Crazy
