You must get massaging seats for long drives! If you are alone in the car, the B&W is phenomenal. Air suspension with 22" wheels are great and very soft, except for sport mode, HOWEVER BEWARE it has a tendency to eat tires. If you hit a pothole, it damages the sidewall. There are people who go from 22 to 20" for this reason. But if you have air suspension the ride becomes too soft.

I just recently purchased a 2024 BMW X5 Xdrive40i...while my budget was north of $100k, I simply could not justify the M60i. First, if you drive both you will definitely notice the difference in the two from a pure power perspective! However, that is TRULY the only difference and for me, the added horsepower in the 60i was not worth as much as the better gas mileage in the 40i. My 40i is also in the Tanzanite Blue and he is right it is drop-dead gorgeous! if you can afford it, I don't think you can go wrong either way and it is just a matter of choice. I moved over to BMW from my 2023 Mercedes GLE AMG 63 and all I can say is bye, bye Merc, I'll see you in the next life 🙂
My biggest concern about AMG and M-ish versions of SUV's is that when I'll look at miles left to drive on a full tank I would see a horrible bad electric car mileage, like 200 or 280. What made you move away from Merc? Too much plastic, too much overdesign? Performance> Looks? Or all combined?

@@timothyho2081I had a model x and there’s a few big differences between the two. The Tesla has a much cheaper build and you can see that from the interior all the way to the exterior with uneven and large panel gaps. The Tesla is a rocket off the line, but from the bmws I’ve been in, they are too. Along with that, the bmws builds are higher quality in my opinion. The range is a big difference as well. When you own an EV, you’re only supposed to charge to 80% to conserve the physical batteries life, so the advertised range is only good when you charge it to 100% when you have a long trip. Charging may seem cheaper, but if you’re charging at stations around your area, you’re still paying 20-30 dollars for a full charge. I did drive the M60i before I ordered. Not sure you can make a bad choice here, though I have heard of numerous issues with the PHEV version.
I own the M60 and my wife has the M50i. I say the M50 sounds better, there should have been more power in the M60 but nope its the same. The lack of buttons really does suck at first and doesn't really get better. The fact its a true M engine should have made more HP
1. this is a fantastic LCI upgrade from BMW. the styling and body-line changes are amazing. they truly rejuvenate the car. 2. this V8 engine is fantastic. the ease of power is so much more comfortable than driving a V6 3. the interior material quality is poor. everything is so light-weight compared to my 2014 BMW M5, for example. flimsy and light weight, cheaper feeling leather, for example the steering wheel. will it stand the test of time? TBD good and bad, like everything in life.
Sir. I like your content and review style. However, I’m sure you probably reviewed the Cayenne…in which I’m incredibly confused as to how you can say the BMW is the best performance luxury mid-size SUV. I am a BMW fan but a much bigger Porsche fan. I know the comparable Cayenne is far more expensive but it really doesn’t matter comparison wise as it is in the same class. There is no way any performance luxury SUV can compete against any of the 2024 Cayennes. I mean they have been doing 10 piston brake calipers since like 2014. As a car enthusiast l, I’m sure you understand my point.
What Cayenne competes with this? The S? It has 50 less hp, and once you add options to match the BMW it’s probably $120k. And if price is irrelevant then why don’t we throw in the X5 M, RSQ8 and the Urus, they’re in the same class and pummel all Cayennes but the GT. And let’s remember, these are 5000 lb luxury SUVs made for daily driver duty, not sports cars or GT cars that you are carving up canyon roads on weekends, or take to the track.
@@gregs8685 2 letters. GT. There is no car company you can possibly like that makes better performance luxury cars than Porsche. Look at all the comparative reviews and come back to me. All of their cars are benchmark in the respective classes. What do you think will compete with the upcoming Macan EV with the “Turbo” words on liftgate? There simply is no equal. Does “Holy Trinity” mean anything to you? Imagine a 3-series competitor. The only thing missing. When they launch it…the 3-series will no longer be a benchmark. This comment will age well.
First of all, it’s not a real true M, so that’s the first issue. Why? 33K reasons that’s why. Your comparing a real AMG to a non M car. Compare it to the X5M competition and you will see several options that make it the REAL M. Brakes, suspension, exhaust, water coolers, spoiler, front end, horsepower - even though they house the same motor, the M comp is tuned to 617HP, where the non M 60 is at 523HP. Plenty reasons why it’s a 33K difference.
I'm thinking quite seriously about ordering one. Here's my bitch list thought. 1. I wish you didn't have to have that huge obnoxious panoramic roof which where I live will NEVER be used--total waste of money. 2. I wish they would get rid of those very DORKY ROOF RAILS. Nobody uses them for skiing. 3. I want the 22" Black Wheels but the dealer told me they only come with the SUMMER PERFORMANCE TIRES so I will have to also order a set of extra wheels and also ALL SEASON TIRES--KACHING. Other than that those are my only 3 bitches. Not a big fan of the 2 part rear hatch but I could get use to it---I think.

The 8 is great, but the 6 is awesome too! Just a more subtle kind of awesoem
i just bought the m60i awesome! Fyi climate controls Re very simple there must hVe been N upgrade very easy and quick
@@cp1699I never understood the bitching over the lack of physical climate control buttons. 99 percent of the time I am just adjusting the temperature, which is always displayed, or physically directing the air vents. I know others like to fiddle with CC all the time but I am not one of those, and as you say, it’s not that hard anyway. Glad you like the car, and I am enjoying the six. I did drive the M60i before I ordered. Not sure you can make a bad choice here, though I have heard of numerous issues with the PHEV version.
What color is this?
BMW’s lease way better than mercs
heated steering in the screen vs on the wheel is a no go. Thats the dumb crap Chrysler does
I own the M60 and my wife has the M50i. I say the M50 sounds better, there should have been more power in the M60 but nope its the same. The lack of buttons really does suck at first and doesn't really get better. The fact its a true M engine should have made more HP
M60i = M50i ??!!! no way
1. this is a fantastic LCI upgrade from BMW. the styling and body-line changes are amazing. they truly rejuvenate the car.
2. this V8 engine is fantastic. the ease of power is so much more comfortable than driving a V6
3. the interior material quality is poor. everything is so light-weight compared to my 2014 BMW M5, for example. flimsy and light weight, cheaper feeling leather, for example the steering wheel. will it stand the test of time? TBD
good and bad, like everything in life.
I totally get it, but I haven’t driven a cayenne in years so I don’t have the context
V8 (s68) 🤝✌️💙
How’s the turbo lag?
almost unnoticeable
ماشاءالله تبارك الله الخالق ♥️ ♥️ ♥️
First of all, it’s not a real true M, so that’s the first issue. Why? 33K reasons that’s why. Your comparing a real AMG to a non M car. Compare it to the X5M competition and you will see several options that make it the REAL M. Brakes, suspension, exhaust, water coolers, spoiler, front end, horsepower - even though they house the same motor, the M comp is tuned to 617HP, where the non M 60 is at 523HP. Plenty reasons why it’s a 33K difference.
Yep. Mercedes have been slacking
I am willing to give BMW $1000’s for some bs package that will bring back iDrive 7, and remove that giant touchscreen
meh. I like the way SQ8 looks more.
I absolutely hate that big screen.
I absolutely h8 the idrive8 and h8 that BMW is watering down the M line.
Does this car have the automatic start/stop system?
As a car fleet owner ill probably WONT be buying this or ANY car.
Watch this car have a dumb ass mark up of 20k+ from dealership for regular models and M models.
I ordered mine and got a discount off MSRP.
@@777triathlete funny enough I was yesterday with my broker and he's giving me his 2022 x5m competition fully loaded for 1300 a month! I need to find out what the sticker price is because he told me he'll probably sell me the car for 77k.
He's also ordering the new x7 a 2023 for the new body, I'll be paying 1400 from what he quoted me yesterday. And I'm also getting the new Benz GLC 300 for 800. I currently have a GLC and I'm paying 780 for my 2021
The grill is cool …but the bumper…..hideous
yeah not really sure why they chose to do that
I always squeeze all the juices from my X5. Never drive it as lux car
screens, screens and more screens.... 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
Yeahhhhhh
not a fan of the interior, they should've still stuck with a normal gear shift, then changing it to a flick switch
kinda agree
Regarding the engine, both m50i and m60i have same power and torque. 0-100km/h is also same.
Your review doesn’t go deep just scratch the surface.
Sorry, your presentation is superb but the content is mediocre.
Looks like alfa
Midsized? Thats a very big car😂
How the fuck is the X5 a mid size suv??? Just because it’s not the size of a Escalade????
That’s ridiculous.
Should be compact because it has only 5 seats. Most mid-size have 7 seats. I owned two of them.
@@nicholash8021 that just doesn’t make sense to me. It sit higher than a wagon and more space then a sedan. I don’t get this midsize and compact suv nonsense.
If you live in Europe, then I understand because when I rent a midsize SUV, they give me something like a Toyota CHR, which is neither midsize nor an SUV by any stretch of the imagination.
@@nicholash8021 I don’t live in Europe. Caribbean resident so I’m close to the US. I just find these different segments a waste of brainpower and time. Suv is suv. Sit higher than a sedan or wagon and more space than a sedan or some wagons. Suv is suv.
Crv is suv. Hrv is suv. X3 is suv. GLC is suv. Americans make things unnecessarily complicated.
@gaara4667 The trend I'm seeing in smaller SUVs is that they sit a bit higher than a sedan but have less trunk space than a sedan. I have the same issue evey time I rent one and have to get two medium and two carry-on suitcases into their shortened trunks. My Volvo XC90 is a proper "midsize" SUV. I can fold the seats flat and fit a 3-person couch in that and close the rear door. I can also take it off-road and raise the suspension height. It can even tow a boat. That is a "utility" vehicle. My present rental, a Toyota CHR, is literally a Stupid Useless Vehicle, not a Sport Utility Vehicle.
Bmw has ventilated seats, not cooled. and they are worthless.....
I miss you.... i love you more..... i want you
