The explanation i found for the music video difference is that American entertainment developed around the radio, while South Korean entertainment developed around television. So the US developed around sound more and Korea gravitated towards visuals. Idk if it's true but it makes sense to me.

Here's the *MAKING OF SHUT DOWN* video th-cam.com/video/L0zIUVVEW6g/w-d-xo.html , at 1:38 you can see how they filmed the "pink globe" scene using blue screen projection (they used blue because Rosé was wearing green in the shot and it would be more difficult to color correct green screen). The scene is a callback to one of their debut videos *WHISTLE* , the only music video that used green screen. All other videos used all practical sets, props and effects, and rear screen projection in some scenes which was shot on-the-fly during filming.
