When you mentioned the itchiness and cramps I had to pause and walk away...My feelings were hurt!!! This explained so much! THANK YOU FOR THIS😘🙏🏾 Oh and you are hilarious! I hollered throughout this entire video!!!🤣😂😂
I have suffered hair breakage all my life. then I moved to the Caribbean from the UK where Aloe vera grows wild, so I potted some and use it on a regular basis and for the first tie in my life I have healthy shoulder-length natural hair. AMAZING!! It works like a dream. My hair stopped breaking, it's soft and I love it. I wish I have discovered it many years ago If anyone is hesitation DON'T!!/
The cleaning aspect was very eye opening. I had no idea there was a yellow substance within the leaf that could cause issues. That may have been the reason why I experienced itchiness years ago and subsequently stopped using it for awhile. However, I've currently been using aloe vera juice for my scalp & dreadlocks for the past 5 or 6 months. It's been life changing! It definitely clears up all scalp issues for me, lessens the amount of oils I use, and keeps my dreads from turning into a group of crispy strands...lol! Thanks for this great video!
Hey NappyFu, greetings from Jamaica. I am blessed to have a lot of aloe vera plant in my yard. I used to blend and drink aloe vera but never used it on my hair until a couple years ago when I came across your videos, and I must say my hair took off growing like crazy, and is very healthy. Anyway, this is how I prepare the aloe vera. I always cut the aloe leaf and allow it to drain for about an hour or so to get rid of the yellow juice. After which, I clean the leaf, cut off the thorny parts then slice the leaf into sections and place the pieces into a bowl of clean water for a few hours. I find that this get rid of the rest of the yellow slime. Next, I cut the gel away from the green outer skin with a knife. I then blend the thick gel pieces and strain the juice through a stocking foot three times to make sure that I don't leave any of the fiber in the gel. My last step is sectioning my hair and saturate my hair with the gel and olive oil then cover my head with a plastic bag to pre-poo my hair over night. By the way, I also use the aloe juice mixed with water , essential oils, and other oils as a moisturizer which I keep in my fridge for several weeks. I also freeze some for further use. This has worked for me and has never spoiled.
I was applying Aloevera gel since 1 month and by God grace I found that my hairs really grow where I had problem of baldness there hair grows and I feel super happy by God grace
@@breaunablack3668 Sorry I missed your post. I have not being on here for a very long time. As per your question, once I strain the aloe vera gel to make sure no particles are left in it, I blend some of it with water to loosen it up then make enough to last me for a while. For example, 16oz aloe juice and add these oils extra virgin olive oil, sweet almond, jojoba, avocado oils about 1oz each and 2oz Jamaican black castor oil. I keep about 4oz in a spray bottle in the fridge to use a couple times per week as my leave in moisturizer, then I freeze the rest in seperate containers, and just grab one and let it thaw out when I need it. That way, I don't have to make it each time. Depending on the length of your hair, this should last you a couple months because a little goes a long way.
I have been using aloe vera for about 3 years as a pre poo, it has really helped my hair grow, but have never known about this cleaning method or that it was necessary so thank you for making this video. New here. I've always known about the Aloe poison. But your 48hour method is new to me. The difference in the water from day 1 to 2 was noticeable. Out here saving lives. Thank you!
thanks so much for such a thorough tutorial. You're the only youtuber I've seen thus far talk about the latex, draining, etc. Cuz the itch on my skin from aloe was so bad. I didn't realise what was causing it until I did the research about the latex. I'll definitely be using aloe more in my hair and on my skin going forward.
Yayyy the natural hair videos are back!!! 😁😄 No one can compare to you when it comes to spitting that KNOWLEDGE!! So informative and so fun at the same time, thanks for the bomb content 👏🏾👏🏾
My girl. THANK YOU. I am watching different videos about using aloe vera for your hair but no one shows or even talks about removing the poison( YELLOW part). I drink aloe vera once in a while and I was taught to remove the YELLOW (poison). Thank you for showing this.
I've been watching many videos on Aloe Vera and you are the 1st person to really talk about the yellow substance. All I would see were people washing it. There was this one woman who said to make sure you wash off the yellow latex from the aloe, but the way she said it made it sound like it was some kind of pesticide on the skin and that all i had to do was scrub it very well. I'm beyond grateful that you explained this. I do have skin sensitivity (Eczema) and was thinking of making something for my skin, thank GOD i found you, who know what that yellow thing would of done to me.
I've been using aloe for over a year on my hair and let me tell you! It has made such a huge difference for me! I use it as a leave in/ detangler. Better than anything else out there. I've been wanting to use it orally but scared of the side effects i've read about. I also din't know the yellow stuff causes itching. Plus i don't normally soak mine cuz ain't nobody got time for that( wait now we actually do thanks to Covid quarantine) lol.
I haven't used Aloe vera from the plant. But I have bought the juice and the gel, and I can testify that the gel helps a ton with detangling and juice help keep my hair moisturized before and after styling. Both staples for me. But thank you for the video as I do have thoughts and plans about using the plant. The content was helpful and useful!
You are really inspirational. I just incorporated aloe Vera gel into my wash day routine and I followed your method of soaking it for 48 hours and it has done wonders. Keep up the good job ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you so much. I have lupus and use aloe on my skin breakouts. I had not figured out how to use on my scalp. I see your video helps people with natural black hair. I have three black children. My middle daughter has very troubled hair 😅. I used to tear up when Mom braided her hair and she would sit tears streaming domn from pain. This vid will be passed to my grown kids. Thx again, God bless
Nappy Fu you are indeed extra and awesome lol. The 3rd and easiest option for those who may want a faster way is to simply peel the skin off, put the gel itself in some water and wash until the gel does not have any aloin, which takes about 30 seconds and it’s perfectly safe after that. The aloin or (bitter sap as otherwise known) has been used and is still used today medicinally as a laxative in many products and also naturally.
My new saying is, "Nappyfu Says." Because before I do anything to my hair I first go see what Nappyfu has to say about it😉 . You are literally the best . Thank you so much🖤
Thank you very much for your nice video. I also used aloe vera for my hair for the first time today against hair loss. I now have naturally dark blonde hair that is gray. It is very fine hair and also very limp. I hope that the allo vera also helps with that and also against hair loss. In any case, thank you for your nice video and the advice about your filter cloth "nutmilkbag". I immediately bought a set online. I hope they arrive at my house soon, because then I will use them immediately. Thank you kindly and see you soon.❤
The Aloe gel helps with the dryness on my scalp. I want to say that it attributes to my hairline growing and not breaking as well. I know that the yellow substance makes me itchy. Thanks for sharing about cleaning out the poison.
I started using aloe Vera in my regimen last week based off of your previous video . I was inspired to try it &. I think I’m going to continue to use it . I use the aloe on my scalp then I follow up with EVOO on my strands &. Let it sit overnight then begin my wash day
Thank you so much!!! These youtubers start a hype and dont tell anyone about the proper preparation techniqyues!!! Im from the caribbean and aloe is an all rounder that has been used for centuries, so i know how to prepare it.
My scalp randomly started getting these itchy scabs. So I’ve been using aloe on my scalp and I haven’t had any scabs, or itching. My scalp feels really good!!
Thank you for sharing, cleaning the aloe vera plant. Great idea. I will be. checking out the nut bag. May God continue to bless You. What is your wash day routine & products.
You told the truth about them nut bags. I ordered two from Amazon and they are the truth with straining all my diy hair stuff that I make. I used to aloe powder 20x also. Both the fresh and powder imparts moisture to my high porosity, fine, thin 4c/4b hair and it's a styler for my hair too.
Between your personality and admitting u use the sponge for the dishes (like me also) had me rolling. The video was amazing and u taught me alot of things I didnt know about aloe. Thank u sister. Keep those video coming. 💗
I always wanted to like Aloe because nothing beats natural products but it always burned and I gave up. But the masochist in my bought more and its sitting in my fridge because I was bracing myself for the burn then I came across your video. I will try this method and will come back to thank you immensely because I just know it would work. Thank you for making the video.
I just started using aloe vera plant one thing I noticed when I kept it for about a week it turned purple/pink. I got rid of it. You have to use it within a few days. I love how moisturizing it is I add it to my conditioner as well. Happy Easter 👸🏿🙏🏾
Kay Jones if you store I in a dark container or brown paper bag to block the light my gel keeps for 2-4wks. I usually wash every 2 wks n I do pre-poos all the time so I would blend a half jar full n keep it for at least 2/3 washes
I've started for about a month now. I see the difference in my hair. I have a tension spot at the top of my head. The hair is starting to come back (very bald, slick bald) The aloe vera really helped heal my scape 1st, then it started growing. I am going to take a picture and look for the difference by Christmas and the New Year.
I use it but I NEVER wrapped my hair in plastic after. So this is good to know. I also used wit a deep conditioning hair mask and leave it on longer maybe and hour.
I love how you go back and forth w/ your accents. LOVE IT! Thank you for this info because I don’t recall this IMPORTANT info in any other aloe Vera video. God bless !!!
Very helpful&insightful..just done fresh aloevera gel treatment for the second time yesterday and i really enjoyed using it!i have not skipped my prepoo step i apply the oil on the scalp and hair by tapping motion with medium twists in then undo them as i apply the aloevera to the individual twists then detangle.
I like your method. It may take longer, BUT you get a purer product. For straining, I've always used nylon knee highs (which I also use for polishing my boots. Not the same one for both uses of course!). Great also for small cuts, burns and insect bites.
I usually leave my aloe to drain before use but noticed that my fingers itch when peeling it. I will definitely use your method going forward. Thank you doll ☺️❤️
Definitely will be washing my aloe vera like this from now on, hopefully this will help with the itching that I experience around my neck when it runs down but overall I love aloe vera and have seen my hair get stronger and healthier. ♥️
The yellow stuff is good for sores from what i was told...my nephew had a sore in his head that takes the haircout snd causes bald spots and i was told to use that on his sore and it healed his scalp and his hair had grown back within a week...
I use fresh aloe vera. I get it from the store wash it and cut it and pu the plant directly on my scalp then hair. I make sure my hair has an essential oil on it first. Your funny. Enjoy your presentation. God bless you always.
Thank you so much! I have been using aloe vera on my girls as well as my hair for about a year now and this is my first time knowing about the yellow stuff that comes out of it. I do appreciate you showing that right there I'm going to start doing that more often
I enjoyed the video. With that said I've been using aloe since childhood. My grandmother gave it to me and her 3 sons when they were growing up and I've never seen or heard of this yellow in the edges. You are probably buying aloe that has mega chemicals used in its growth. Even though you only see the yellow on the edges it has to be throughout the plant and leaves. PLEASE buy your aloe somewhere else!
Thanks for the demo; I normally use prepared aloe vera gel for hormonal acne and with my leave in conditioner, but due to the quarantine shelves are empty. I bought the aloe vera leaf with NO knowledge whatsoever on how to use it & with this I'm ready to give it a try.
Yes I do use it in my hair on a regular. Today was helpful because I make milk and I recently considered using it to strain the aloe. Seeing you use it today confirms already that it will work. You’re the best! Thank you!
Thank you for teaching about the precautions to take. I didn't know that! I have used alovera juice bought from the pharmacy to hydrate my hair and it helped with edge growth. I have my first aloe leaf and because of you, I am ready to make my own gel! 😊Thanks!
I Just found you although my daughter has been following you for years... I’m about to try your aloe Vera method! Thanks for showing us how to extract the yellow stuff, and stain it properly.
I've never tried aloe vera from the leaf, but now I'm not sure how I lived without it. Definitely getting a leaf tomorrow to get my treatment ready for my next wash day.
Been searching high and low where I live for a fresh aloe vera plant or JUST ONE LEAF, to no avail... but at least I'm prepared now for when I do, thanks this was super helpful
Thank you for your awesome video! Very cool the way you talk, very genuine, witty and knowledgeable thank you my dear. I was using aloe without taking off the toxicity and maybe create an allergy on my eyes, a friend told me you have to let it soak for 12-24h once you cut it. So I wanted check a little info before using again. Loved watching and listening to you girl.
I've been struggling with when in my wash day routine to use it and finally settled on using it in between my shampoo and conditioner. I leave it on for an hour or so and then rinse with medium warm/tepid water. Then I apply conditioner for three to five minutes then rinse again. My final rinse starts with medium warm water and gradually transitions to as cold as I feel like tolerating. Seems to be working. I'm enjoying silky shiny results. I'm looking forward to some length retention as well hopefully. Tfs your techniques on removing the irritants. Very informative.
THIS video was very helpful for I never knew that there was a poisonous part in the aloe Vera, I have seen the yellow color but had no idea it was poisonous. Thank you.
Unfortunately I had to learn this the hard way, my scalp was so itchy and ever since then I've been reluctant to use it again 😪 Everybody raves about using aloe vera but nobody talks about the latex poison 😓 So thank you for being very thorough and informative on the topic and putting me on because I definitely learned something new 😌👏🏾👏🏾 I'll definitely be trying aloe again but using this method beforehand.
thankkk youuuu for showing us how to properly strain. fr cause i’ve watched 3 videos and nobody showed how to strain fr. i’m about to this because i’ve started micro locs and i wanna use the gel to retieee 🤟🏽
This is so imformative. When I saw the hype about Aloe I went to go get and wanted to use it emidietly, my Mom grew up in the farms and she warned me that if not used right it could dry the liver and it also itches on the skin so I'm doing my research now.
Did my first aloe vera treatment yesterday. No blender but I squeezed that aloe real good and stranded it twice with a stocking cap. It smells good this morning.

Thanks for the info!! 😍😍
My new saying is, "Nappyfu Says." Because before I do anything to my hair I first go see what Nappyfu has to say about it😉 .
You are literally the best . Thank you so much🖤
Idk if anyone else said the same, but you're the only one I've seen "cut" it with your fingers! Smart 😊
😊😊😊😊😊
Yes it helped me. I used a combination of you & another authentic consultant.
My pleasure glad it was helpful.
Thank you! People don't realize aloe prep is important. Thanks for sharing. 😊
The yellow stuff is an antibiotic..
Thank you for sharing, cleaning the aloe vera plant. Great idea. I will be. checking out the nut bag. May God continue to bless You. What is your wash day routine & products.
I wish I had found this video first before applying aloe Vera to my hair.
Same here. She definitely explained this properly.
Guy here🤚🏿 thank youu for this video
Glad it was helpful.
@@phylsands7975 Thanks for the advice I will try that the next time.
It turns pink when exposed to oxygen or light sometimes doesn’t mean it has gone bad tho
i left mine in the fridge and it lasted me like a month without turning purple at all. ???
I make an aloe vera oil mix with coconut oil. I do wash it but I don't soak it. I'll definitely be soak it before I use it ☺️ Thank you!
I've started for about a month now. I see the difference in my hair. I have a tension spot at the top of my head. The hair is starting to come back (very bald, slick bald)
The aloe vera really helped heal my scape 1st, then it started growing.
Haven't used this in years due to an itchy scalp after using it but now I know why it was itchy. Will try again. Thanks for this video
This is an older video, but I keep coming back to it for reference. Love it!
Glad you find it helpful sis!!! I appreciate your support ☺️ Thank you so much!!
I like your method. It may take longer, BUT you get a purer product. For straining, I've always used nylon knee highs (which I also use for polishing my boots. Not the same one for both uses of course!). Great also for small cuts, burns and insect bites.
Glad it was helpful.
Yes I have started using just the Alevera treatment plastic bags leaving it on for hours and I can definitely see the difference
Did the same thing thanks to your video. LOVE IT. SO GOOD. Cut my time in half.
This is sooo helpful. All if it. Especially the nutmilk bag strainer...(As I'm sitting here with aloe vera flakes in my hair😳)
Thank you Ma'am.
You are hilarious! I stumbled on a video and now im addicted to all your videos!!!
Yes I do use it in my hair on a regular. Today was helpful because I make milk and I recently considered using it to strain the aloe. Seeing you use it today confirms already that it will work. You’re the best! Thank you!
I have not tried Aloe Vera. This was very helpful thanks😊
Thank you for teaching about the precautions to take. I didn't know that! I have used alovera juice bought from the pharmacy to hydrate my hair and it helped with edge growth. I have my first aloe leaf and because of you, I am ready to make my own gel! 😊Thanks!
Girl I just love your personality. Super inviting.
Thank you!
Idk bout y’all but I LOVE the size of this sink
Hi I've just listened and watched ur video of cleaning the aloe vera and soaking it for 24 hrs. Thoroughly enjoyed it 👌💯
I Just found you although my daughter has been following you for years... I’m about to try your aloe Vera method! Thanks for showing us how to extract the yellow stuff, and stain it properly.
I use it every wash day! Have plenty juicy aloe plant in the garden 🤩
I've used aloe vera plenty of times but I never knew I wasn't cleaning it right so thanks for the info.
THIS video was very helpful for I never knew that there was a poisonous part in the aloe Vera, I have seen the yellow color but had no idea it was poisonous. Thank you.
This video was very helpful because before seeing, I was thinking about removing all the Aloe Vera plants from my yard.
Thank you so much. I did get the itch, because I did not process the aleo correctly. Now I know what I did wrong. Now that I know the steps.
Draining was awesomeness ❤
The best!
thankkk youuuu for showing us how to properly strain. fr cause i’ve watched 3 videos and nobody showed how to strain fr.
i’m about to this because i’ve started micro locs and i wanna use the gel to retieee 🤟🏽
Love Aloe Vera, it heals my scalp issues. It's perfection because it cleanses/heals/moisturizes.
This woman's hair is Amazing and so Beautiful...
Thank you!!
We use the yellow part for babies finger to deter them from sucking their fingers. It's also the bitterest part
It's my first time to watch your videos and I really like it. It's both very informative and entertaining. Thank you so much! Now, I'm a subscriber!
Yes this was very helpful. I know the bottom is poisonous, but I did not know that yellow stuff was even in it. Thank you love!
I'm definitely going to try this method out!! Thanks for sharing
This is so imformative. When I saw the hype about Aloe I went to go get and wanted to use it emidietly, my Mom grew up in the farms and she warned me that if not used right it could dry the liver and it also itches on the skin so I'm doing my research now.
This video was definitely helpful. Thank you Nappy Fu! 🇧🇿
Did my first aloe vera treatment yesterday. No blender but I squeezed that aloe real good and stranded it twice with a stocking cap. It smells good this morning.
Why am i now seeing this video, anyhoos im gonna start my aloe journey on my natural hair. Thank you.😊
