this video was a wake up call for me!! i’m a new first time mom who has had a very rough time postpartum and i would eat whatever was around and the fastest thing i could find. processed and inflammatory things because it has been our first time living on one income as well so using what wic could get us which is absolute trash. survival mode plus postpartum is so detrimental! i’m 7 months postpartum and got approved for food stamps so im so grateful that i can now get whatever i want at the store and this video came at the perfect time. i need to take my health more seriously especially as an exclusively breastfeeding mom!

FYI. while in home EC class, we were taught how to get the core out of lettuce or cabbage. hold the head of cabbage/lettuce firmly with one hand on each side of the head, with the core at the bottom. firmly slam the head down on the counter. and there you go, you can pull the whole core out in one section. you gotta love home ec class.

I had my 7th baby in April. I dont usually gain a lot of extra weight during pregnancy so after delivery i'm already close to prepregnancy weight but then I gain it all back plus more while im breastfeeding. Its so frustrating to be heavier at 4 months pp than I was at 38 weeks pregnant. But i think its as you said and I just really let myself go on the nutrition and I let my sugar and carb cravings take over. Starting on cutting out grains today, and going to lower sugar over a few weeks.

I am 2 months postpartum, breastfeeding, and I am eating a lot of protein and home cooked meals. But I can not stop craving sugar. I've been eating a ton of sugar every day in the form of several cookies, juice, fruit, etc. I'm afraid my milk has too much sugar and could be affecting my daughter negatively. I just randomly came across your channel, your story sounds very similar to mine, I feel like I've spent the last 5 years trying to figure out what's going on. After our fifth child, and during a stressful time in our life, I started with lots of joint pain and inflammation and so much fatigue. I feel much better when I'm pregnant, but then around 2 months postpartum my symptoms start coming back a lot. I have been trying elimination diets, I was on carnivore for a while, I am definitely underweight, and wishing to find a way to gain some weight while also not eating inflammatory foods.
Would you mind sharing what your symptoms are, and how you know you have an autoimmune condition?

Must be difficult not being 100% in health while caring for many children solo throughout the day especially a baby. Its great your husband takes them around the farm. Theres a child psychologist that explains that mothers tend to nuture & pacify while fathers can be just as good at parenting but naturally excite & distract kids away from mother ( so she can rest). Nice teamwork.

I'm 37 weeks with our first baby. Early on in the pregnancy, we took a Bradley Method class that did a good job of going over the Brewer Diet. Prior, I wasn't eating much fat, eggs, or animal meat. Some, but it wasn't a priority. Once I overhauled what I was eating to include these things in what I cooked (um, hello breakfast foods like Dutch babies, crepes, and even homemade mousse, etc.!), I've handled pregnancy very well, thanks be to God. A big concern is always if it'll make you gain too much weight by incorporating those things, but I have remained at steady and healthy composition. I am nervous about exclusively breastfeeding. It seems that with our diet and formula culture, the cards are stacked against me.

I went through this with our first. I have Celiac Disease so 100% gluten free and then dairy free for inflammation. So I questioned what to cut out. Our midwife shared with us the big causes of colic/gas
      Gluten
      Dairy
      Coffee
      Chocolate
      Broccoli
Sugar (that includes high sugar fruits)
I cut all those out and at roughly 3 months slowly added one item in at a time and after a few days if no reaction then added another. For our child it was bananas. We just welcomed another baby and so far no tummy issues but if it happens again. I'll do the same thing.

Have baby checked for oral tires and a solid latch by a lactation consultant.
