Thank you for being so concise in editing and writing so that even floor 8 scrubs like me understand. The advice about reactive play and slowing down a bit is really useful at my level to not get hit by every DP in the game!

It's either spend 4 hours making a video, or spend 4 hours on discord whenever the subject of offense comes up. However, I am blessed by your enjoyment.

A secret option against wake up supers is your own super. This is an extremely hard call out that probably should be never done but I'm pretty sure the psychological damage I inflicted on that Ram won me the set.

That actually does less damage than blocking.

Well you can also just wait and buffer your own super during the flash of their's on reaction to be 100% sure you'll get the punish without committing to a crack head read, because typically whoever does their super second wins as their invicibility outlasts the other characters. I actually do this a lot to punish people who think they are "safe" to do their wake up super simply because they have two bars, because this method does not give them enough frames to RC their own super and once they commit they are going to get hit by yours.

In regards to Reactive Play, I remember hearing DEB talk about doing nothing as a strong option in offense and it is my favourite thing to do. Most people have a sort of "twitch" where if you do nothing long enough, they'll feel like they have to press a button (always funny when you and your opponent stare at each other for 5 seconds straight). You can kinda snipe these by timing your attack just before their's and getting a counter hit. Additionally, with someone like Faust who has a great Back Walk, you can space yourself out from the opponent's best buttons so attempting it can be relatively safe. In the case that your opponent does nothing, you haven't committed to anything and you've gathered data for next time.
Doing nothing after dashing in the neutral can also be pretty good (with FD, you can really control the spacing). You can play it safe, be reactive and prepare for what your opponent might do next time. Even better is that it strengthens your other options so when you eventually run full screen for a throw, it might just work

DEB has the right idea about everything. Listen to everything she says. Be like DEB. Wear cowprint.

offense.mp4 and defense.mp4 provide excellent breakdowns of the core interactions of Guilty Gear Strive, but even more impressive is how the information is formatted and presented in a way that makes it easy to apply to other fight games, and even other competitive genres.
When starting a new game or even a new genre of games, the first challenge is understanding the information directly available: what do the bars/meters/icons mean, what are these characters capable of, which attacks are + on block, that sort of thing. The next and hardest challenge is learning the most advantageous option to take in any given moment, analyzing and acting on the information given: If the opponent has burst and I have 50 meter, I should be cognizant of blocking during the RC of my next big hit because my opponent should be cognizant of bursting after I spend meter to maximize reward. By simplifying the concepts and showing the benefits and detriments of each, learning this complex game can be easier.
These basic rules and applications can be applied to other games too, if players are aware of each game's specific mechanics. In MBAACC compared to Strive, normals can cancel into other normals in any order, grounded normals can't be blocked in the air, throws are weaker, there are few metered and even fewer meterless reversals, and any stray hit from any button can lead to 3.5k damage + corner + oki. This changes the relative risks and benefits of each of the core offensive and defensive options, but each option is still present, and being aware and using all options in the proper situations makes for better players. Newer players in melty gravitate toward mashing 2A on defense because taking a hit while jumping leads to the same situation, the threat of throw is low, reversals are few, blocking is scary and boring, but if they tag their opponent with 2A in a gap, they can do their own combo and regain momentum.
I used to regularly play against someone who always tried to DP on wakeup, and would get upset when their DP wouldn't come out, or would be blocked, which drove them to try to DP more. I told them that regardless of their execution, the threat of DP is as important as the DP itself, and that a DP that is blocked or a DP that hits both opens up different options. In fast games it can be hard to see and understand what is actually happening. The setups I'd use in anticipation for DPs made openings that they weren't aware existed.
Breaking down and simplifying the basic actions a player can take in any given game helps them understand, engage, and enjoy the game more fully. Your tutorials show the nuance and depth these games can carry, and make it easy to understand. Cohesive and concise. Excellent work.

    Beautifully concise. Slight correction, however:
5f buttons cannot always challenge a throw. Guard crush lacks any post gc throw invuln - so an immediate throw will beat any normal.

@@alexanderdenison2950 If I had to guess, on hitbox you can block low then jump then block low again quick enough so that you'll block the second hit of 2S, whereas on stick it's hard to move the joystick fast enough to block low in time after jumping
