The visual style in the artworks he uses have also become way more uniform. In early videos they were kinda all over the place. I've grown quite fond of these cartoon portraits.

I don't think they fit the mostly serious topics of the book and the videos well, and they are often unnecessarily ugly - like even characters that are not described as ugly in the books look hideous in these pictures. But I understand that these are probably his only source of pictures for every (even minor) characters in the same style

Initially he sent a plot outline to get a paycheck so he could write without working. That plot outline had a five year time jump but that plot outline was never the story he was going to write. I think it’s interesting that Taena and her husband aren’t seen together much, and Taena’s son’s origin is very vague. Honestly the Merryweather’s reminds me of spies pretending to be married as a cover.
If Taena was one of Vary's little birds in Esos, then it stands to reason that Varys arranged for her to marry Merryweather while he was exiled. Varys then arranges for Robert to pardon Merryweather so that Merryweather will return home. Varys is now using her to manipulate Cersei. The whole situation reeks of Varys.

I reread Cersei IV, and Orton suggests that Cersei: * not get involved in the selection of a new high septon (and thereby forego having a High Septon that owes his position to her) * not get involved in Littlefinger's conflict with the Lords declarant (and thereby forego making him or them beholden to her) * start an alliance with The Ironmen for bogus reasons (that they are the "enemy of an enemy", when that enemy -- Robb -- is already dead), at the expense of risking pissing off the Boltons * not pay the Iron Bank, whereby they will have an incentive to back someone else * tell Wyman Manderley to send Davos to King's Landing so they can extract information from him (whereas Qyburn want Davos killed) * get rid of Jon Snow because he has supposedly allied with Stannis It seems to be that most of these are equally well suited for Aegon or Dorne to want Cersei to do. But points 1 indicate Aegon: if there wasn't any invasion coming, there is little point in interfering in the faith's selection process, as Stannis worships the R'hlor, so all of them are against him. But with Aegon's invasion coming, having a High Septon that in your debt might give Cersei an edge. But OTOH, point 4 suggests against Aegon: we know in hindsight that the Iron Bank decided to go with Stannis, and why would Aegon want that?

You mentioned in your 1000 worlds book club that you were planning on a retrospect video, looking back at all the stories as a whole. Would very much enjoy that, so I hope you can find the time for it! And maybe a podcast about Martin's non-ASOIAF work as well? (That is, if you can find any other TH-camrs that have read any of that. It's kinda baffling to me that so many of the ASOIAF-tubers seem uninterested in connection the dots between ASOIAF and Martin's previous work...)

I've watched this a 2nd time, and I think this may be a pivotal work in your studies. You have me sold on Taena + Varys, and the prospect of strengthening the Qyburn links of your whole Dornish Master Plan chain intrigues me. It could be that Qyburn set up Senelle not for experimentation but rather for "harsh questioning," and not for Cersei's edification but rather Dorne + GC's. Were Senelle known to them as an intimate of Highgarden, and this team specializing in crafty intelligence.
