Looks so good, you needed a bunt cake pan. I love black walnuts too! 🎉 When you said tube pan that is what I thought of, a bundt cake pan. Here is the lowdown: A tube pan is any type of round baking pan that has a hollow tube in its center. The tube conducts heat, which helps large, deep cakes bake faster, and it also helps the cake release more easily from the pan after it has been baked.Oct
You take after dad! Not me, I really didn't like them. I thought I didn't, but had forgotten. 😅Karen said bundt pan right away too. Oh well, now I know. 👍
Your angel food cake pan that you used for the pineapple cake would work. That's what I would consider a tube pan. Was the cake spicy? I don't think I ever had black walnuts. Are they a different flavor from regular walnuts? My favorite no eggs/no dairy recipe is the Amelia Bedelia chocolate cake recipe. It's particularly good with vanilla ice cream. That combo reminds me of the ice cream cake rolls we would have (special occasions only, lol) when I was a kid. Thanks for sharing your baking adventure!
I'd never heard of it called a tube pan before, but now I know what it is! 😅The spice mix was nice and not too spicy. It was very Christmassy, but the black walnuts tasted astringent and bitter to me. I'm not sure why my dad and my sister Carrie like/liked them so much. Then again I love black licorice and dad never liked it and neither does Carrie, but Mom loved it. Yum, the Amelia Bedelia chocolate cake recipe sounds delicious!
@@maryanderson5652 yes, I now know black walnuts are not for me!🤣 The bread/cake part turned out really nice despite me not using the correct pan for it. I would make it again but with English walnuts and some other dried fruit. Oh, you know, chopped almonds and apricots would be yummy!
I am not a black walnut fan - at all - but the black walnut tree is the official state nut tree of Missouri! (Things you learn teaching Missouri State History to 4th graders!) 😊
I want some❤
Lol, I'd let you have the whole thing if you were here!

looked good! moderate oven is 350. also tube pan is bundt cake pan, but I liked the bread pan you used
Thanks! That's what I thought it was at first, but talked myself out of it. It would probably baked faster if I had used a bundt cake pan.

Black walnuts have always tasted off or bitter to me. But it looks like the bread part turned out well.

Yuck, we should choose a different nut tree! 😂
Bundt pan. Also, let it sit a minute before putting in your mouth.
😅Thanks! Also, I was in a hurry to get the video edited and uploaded. I was running so late. 😂
