- Come and try Economy Class on the LATAM 787 from Sydney to Auckland on my latest flight review video.
LATAM is the biggest and best airline in South America - it's the recently rebranded combination of LAN and TAM.
On this 787 Dreamliner flight review I test out LATAM economy class. As always my flight review features boarding, take-off, the LATAM economy class cabin and seat, the in-flight dining and LATAM's inflight entertainment system.

I used to like flying in their A340 back when they were called LAN. They are a good airline.

LATAM sure was a huge improvement in long distance travels. Flying on Air Canada for Vancouver from Brisbane. They got the same assets from LATAM. :)
OMG I love the new intro!!!! Your videos are getting better and better! I like the fast forward and normal speed video effects. Timelapse can be good also 😊.

Loved this video. Came here because of a last minute, and somehow cheaper, decision to fly LATAM over Virgin Australia. Seats 32L and 32K for my girlfriend. Travelling to Auckland for our first holiday together, just the two of us, then off to Queenstown before heading back.

Yes that makes sense. There's often more free seats further back too.
Nicely done review! If LATAM flew Brisbane-NZ I'd seriously consider them. The only worthwhile option for people who want to sit with their better half in business class on across the ditch flights is Emirates.

all international flights going out side of continental North America/ carribean I believe serve alcohol at least beer and wine in coach. AA does on Hawaii routes I believe same with Hawaiian.

I am flying with LATAM to auckland next week however their inflight and your video is awesome, i have found that the customer service when ringing their contact centre to be extremely basic and not that helpful as well as their online manage booking to be also basic.
the old intro was much better, specifically the music. felt like I was about to go on a journey

The cabin altitude is around 4000ft compared to 6000ft for most other airliners. I am not sure about the Airbus A350. Makes long sectors more comfortable. Anything over 13 hours I am looking for an alternative.

A good option than a squashy 737 QF flight over to NZ, good choice of film too; I really liked Gosling & Crowe together ✔️
I flew LATAM from Lima to Madrid on December 31st 2018 and they did not have any alcohol at all; only wine with the meal.
The video system I had in my seat was not working properly; kind of a boring flight.
Paid about 80 dollars extra for the seat and was the last one to board the plane. Nobody told me, at the gate, that I had to go in first and the boy rudely answered that I should had known that I had to board first. Of course, when I got to my seat, there was not enough room for my carry on. Bad moment and very disgusted.

Thanks Daniel, I'm not sure because LATAM doesn't fly the A380. Each airline has their own seat width & pitch - best place to check is Seat Guru.
A380 wins by a large margin.

Nice Video If you have time you can go to one of my favorite airline Avianca to Bogota than take a codeshare to Guayaquil in Business Class
Will try - I flew with Avianca from Lima to Rio a few years ago in business and it was pretty good. This was before i started filming so will have to try them again one day.

Seats are comfortable? Yes if you have an empty seat next to you they are great as is the rest of this aircraft.
If you have 3 normal sized people sitting in those narrow seats (check out on SEATGURU, they are much narrower than others) there is shoulder rubbing on shoulder. Perhaps OK for the short hop to Auckland sitting next to a family member. But continue to Santiago and it is an entirely different story. Last flight I had 3 XL travellers sitting twisted sideways to actually fit. I had to take pain killers for the resulting back pain.
Never again, the Airbus they used previously was way better in this regard.
From now on its Qantas QF27/28 on the good ol 747 to Stgo for me. I do this trip 3-4 times a year. I heard the the 787 was designed for 2+4+2 but greedy airlines made that 3+3+3. Well not for me, even if I have to pay a bit more for an alternative.

Yes I think SQ sets the standard in economy - this one was pretty good though.

@@YT-ud3ot The seats are super narrow, 3 normal sized adults do not fit they have to sit twisted sideways......for 16 hours.

my posting schedule is based on when i travel so nothing for a while - I am doing another trip soon so hope to post a Malaysia Airline and an Etihad business class review early January. In the meantime filmed Qantas A330 business class on domestic flight in Australia yesterday on my phone - if the vision is good plan to post in about a week. Stay tuned :)

What is your favorite airline?
Tough question - across all four classes I think Singapore Airlines is the most consistently good. I also like their business class although Qatar is also excellent. First class I think Emirates is best of the airlines I have flown - have not tried Etihad first class apartment but that looks better than Emirates.
Where is LATAM based?
They are based on South America with head offices in both Chile and Brazil. LATAM is the combination of the old LAN (Chile) and TAM (Brazil)

People live in Australia seems more luckier than we who live in North America, no free food, charging u all time for ur luggage, and poor lounge offerings with cookies only......
