Nicely crafted video GD! You make a great point of the survival rate of existing Engelhard bars. I Think you nailed it, some of these bars were melted down for sure. The year is hard to nail down but most likely very early 1980's. I bet some of the dates out there are from COA's and other documents, for the dates we do have. Wonderful bars! Like you, I will buy certain bars and have only one Phoenix 10 ounce bar in the collection- just to have one.
Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts buddy. I was thinking it was early 80's but I must admit as I get older the memory seems to be getting a little fuzzy Enjoy your Sunday GD
A small show with 50/60 is pretty nice. I've been to small shows with 10/15 dealers. Great trade GD. I don't have a bull logo in my stack. Would love to have one.
Thanks my friend for stopping by to watch, I do appreciate it. Sometimes those tiny 10/15 dealer shows can have some worthwhile finds. Generally in this area those shows are collectors or just people that are unloading things they had kicking around and not dealers that set up
Thanks for stopping by to watch, I do appreciate the support. We have been in a trading range for a long time now so you may get that pullback, if not this week than maybe in the near future. GD
I do love those ripples on that Engelhard bar you got. Yes it looks like a 2nd gen Phoenix. Yes allengelhard is just a baseline. I'm sure the surving ones still around are lower gor sure. Interesting idea aboit the year stamp. Most well known intage bars you can an approximate date range on production.
Thanks for stopping by to watch, I do appreciate the support. It is getting very tough to find good vintage without paying high prices for them with all the new collectors out there. If you aren't already following them you may want to check out Mineral Exchange, it doesn't happen often but once in a while a piece slips through at a fair price Good Luck GD
Interesting information and nice silver pieces. 👍

I was lucky to find 3 old Engelhard one ounce bars at my LCS 3 weeks ago...he sold me them for only $28 each.
Always nice when you can find some at you LCS. Glad you were able to pick a few up and at a fair price.

I haven't caught on to them yet.
I will give them a ck.
💯 to you & the vintage bars man.
Fun fact: my brother in-laws father used to salmon guide for ol' Mister E in Quebec
That is a fun fact, thanks for sharing it.
