Barr Notes info:
Among the most sought-after U.S. paper money of the late 1960s are the short-lived "Barr" Notes. The bills feature the signature of then Secretary of the Treasury, Joseph W. Barr. Barr had a relatively short term of office, the shortest of anyone that has held the position (December 21, 1968 - January 20,1969), leading to hoarding of these $1 Secretary Barr Notes. These notes are Series 1963B.

@GDSavingThePast I have a friend that showed me his bill collection 30 yrs. ago , along with what to look for . I never got started with bills .
Nice coin, the 1897-s is more rare I believe.

art bars are my thing...1970's USSC, Madison, Ceeco, Death Valley etc
Thanks for stopping by to watch, I do appreciate it. Great hearing that you are collecting art bars, they have a lot of variety to choose from which keeps it interesting collecting them. GD
Cool old bar unfortunately I dont have any info on them, your right it is almost impossible to get information on these old poured bars,at least most of them ,reminds me of my recent bar with that RMIC logo stamped on it,even though it says Certified Mint ,it said RMIC stands for Rare Metals Investment Corporation but who knows couldn't find any info about them 🤷♂️
Many of the people that were pouring those 1960's to late 1970's bars may no longer be with us so we can only hope that people that were there or knew the people that produced those bars sees a video like this one or one that you or another channel creates and they fill in the information.
I like your story your story is too long you should have made it short and sweet to the point and showed us the difference between a real one and a fake one

Awesome finding 5 star notes. I’m curious, what’s an example of a holy grail serial number?
Thanks buddy for stopping by to watch, There are a few that would be holy grails if found in circulation such as a solid number ( all the same number ) or a single digit number of all 0's with a single number at the end or a super repeater true binary note of 01010101. There are other numbers that would be a nice find in circulation but those 3 would be ultimate finds.
@@GDSavingThePast ok awesome, thank you! I’m feeling more and more confident after watching your videos on what to look for!
@@scrapitall200 Hope you find something good out there, I would love to hear about it when you do.
@@GDSavingThePast thank you! It’s a fun little hobby, I’ve definitely been enjoying checking all my change.
@@scrapitall200 Glad to hear you are enjoying this hobby, once you find a few coins or currency worth more than face value it becomes addictive.
Nice 👊👍I need to do some more searches
Thanks for stopping by to check out the video, I do appreciate it. Yes do some more searches. I love doing these searches beacause for $1 you could find something worth hundreds or even thousands and at worse you lost nothing on what you turn back in. GD
Doing currency searches is like a treasure hunt and you just never know when that rare note worth many times face value shows up. What has been your best find. GD
Oh cool! Finding a seven of a kind is awesome. Congrats! I will have to check out the other video.
Thanks for stopping by to watch, I do appreciate it. Yes finding that 7OAK was pretty cool, now I am hunting for anything that might one day top that one in circulation if that is even possible GD
Hey bud. Can you see my original comment? Unusual of you not to reply so I thought maybe it’s TH-cam playing games with comments like they often do lol.
Thanks buddy for stopping by to watch, you know how much I appreciate the support.. I guess YT is filtering messages, this is the only message I see today
@@GDSavingThePast you ever check held for review messages or try to locate the filtered comments? Every time I post a comment about a serial number I never get a reply from you. This is probably the 4th time.
@@scrapitall200 I do check filtered messages ( held for review ) and nothing is ever in there. Interesting that your comments that mention a serial number don't come through to me but it shouldn't surprise me since my stats are always questionable as well. Maybe Google/YT needs some new help. lol
@@GDSavingThePast they do need help 😂
@@GDSavingThePast serial # started, nine eleven zero one. Seems like it could be a desirable note
The vintage odd weight bars are awesome but your right- very little info on them. Having counter stamped bars adds to the confusion. CCM is a good example of that, they have many counterstamps and even custom initials for customers. Nice bar, wish I could help with info.
Thank you SS for stopping by to watch, you know I appreciate it my friend. Something about those bars that are hard to find info on and have odd weights that seem to pull me in even when they have premiums that seem way too high for an unkown.
Cool stuff my friend. I found a dollar note 2013 in fair condition K 91101521 G. With the start of the serial number being 9-11-01, is this note of any value?

Beautiful vintage chunker. I've seen those bars before but I have no clue about Balthorp. Doubt much info exists. I've looked and can only find examples and no real info on the bars.

Thanks Dean Very cool that you were able to find your birthday note, I have a small group of birthday notes but have yet to find my birthday note for sale or as a currency search find.

Ive used the Sigma for a couple years now but on pure silver and gold and have had no issues. I never rely on the Sigma alone but also measure diameter, thickness & weight etc.. In some cases I may even do displacement test in water. Every counterfeit piece I have tested even nicely plated bars and coins have also shown up as fake on the sigma.
Thanks for stopping by to watch and sharing your experience with the Sigma GD
Thank you so much for all the kind words my friend. If you do have a sticker I’d love to have one, if not, no worries. Dang, swing and a miss, but at least you did get a few to keep. Oh, and those two were definitely rags lol.

Thanks for stopping by to watch Buddy, I do appreciate it. My wife put a stop to more of that, she isn't comfortable with me showing too much on here pluse there really wasn't that much interest with likes and comments on that video so I scrapped the idea of doing weekly gold videos.
Those APM bars are a good one to find! As you might know American Pacific Mint made those bars in one ounce and ten ounce sizes as well. Did not know these guys were DGSE!! I have some CCM bars with the DGSE counter stamps. Thank you for the history lesson, I learned something here GD!

With the price of silver solidly above $30 per ounce do you prefer to invest in modern low premium silver or higher premium vintage silver GD
Vintage when prices are high
@@StackThatGold Thanks for sharing that info, hopefully others will also share their thoughts on this.
I'm a vintage guy thru and thru. Stack vintage as much as possible regardless of spot price. But I did start with a very solid stack of ASE and generic 10oz bars before I moved onto vintage. Like to have plenty of generic on hand to play GSR when appropriate which for me starts @ 73 to 1. ASE I like to collect full sets from 1986 to present and full tubes.
You hit the jackpot! Congratulations, heck of a find!
Thanks John, I appreciate you stopping by to watch. It is pretty exciting when something like that is found in a currency search. It now has a good home in my currency collection book. Happy Hunting GD
