    The one and only Dimensional Chorus effect is back, in the BOSS DC-2W Dimension C Waza Pedal. Loaded with premium analog circuitry, the DC-2W not only nails the sound of the original DC-2 Dimension C pedal - it also offers a spot-on re-creation of the original SDD-320 Dimension D rack effects processor that started it all. The retro-style preset buttons also offer access to different variations on the effect, for a total of 20 different sounds. Complete with stereo I/O, the BOSS DC-2W Dimension C Waza Pedal is a great choice for guitar and bass, keyboards, and even studio mixing sessions.

    Amazing how for a pedal demo they used a true stereo setup with 2 real amps and 2 mics on each... Again for "just" a pedal demo. Well done!

    One can clearly hear the vintage DC-2 clipping the signal peaks of Mitch's guitar playing at 5:53 while the same phrase on the DC-2w at 5:33 is clean. Seems BOSS addressed the DC-2 headroom issue in the Waza. Big thumbs up!

      Yes!. I could never use my DC-2 on a pedalboard for this exact reason. The clipping drove me nuts.

      Same here. I always avoided it because of this. The behringer version also did the same thing. I couldn't deal with it and returned it. Might have to give this Waza one a shot.

    This was the secret of SRV’s sound. But he used a rack unit by Roland called the dimension D which he used on several David Bowies recordings, including let’s dance. He used it on his own records also.
    You can get his sound by switching to the dimension d sound on the pedal with the switch.

    Hey great video, 👍. I have two questions, what model telecaster is that with a Humbucker in the bridge? Now I am debating whether to get this pedal or the Boss CE-2W? Based on this video I am leaning towards the dimension. Which has the better sounding Chorus?

    • @sweetwater
      @sweetwater  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, Angel! Both pedals are analog and sound great. Depends on what you want sonically. If you want the Nirvana/Cure LFO warble (with more bottom end), then CE-2W. If you want a high-fi multi line modulation (Purple Rain intro/Rush - Hemispheres), then Dimension DC-2w.

    Does the rackmount setting provide different phasing than the standard mode? I use it with a stereo guitar, and there seems to be some difference in stereo separation between the two modes. On pedal mode both amps signals are separated completely. On rack mode there is some bleed to the other amp - and signal seems summed out of phase.

    I've been wondering, if when you go out of both outputs of this pedal is it actually creating a true sterio effect(as in, one side/output would be different from the other to create the effect, or would it be the same if I just went out of a single output(mono) of the pedal, and then into a splitter going to my 2 amps/cabs?

    • @sweetwater
      @sweetwater  4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Hello, James! This pedal is designed to accept two inputs, which could then be run out of two dedicated stereo outputs. Basically, it will maintain a stereo signal path via input/output A and B, or it could take a mono input and split it into two identical mono outputs, if desired. I do hope that answers your question. Please don't hesitate to reach out directly if we may add further clarity.

      Hi and thanks for your question, hope all is well. Cascading one pedal into the other is a phenomenal idea. So many amazing sounds that you couldn’t get out of one or the other. The two choruses are very different sonically and work great together. You could also run one on each side in mono or stereo for a really expansive soundscape.

    • @sweetwater
      @sweetwater  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Charles, thanks for your question. Hope all are safe and well your way. This pedal is optimized to work with HI-Z instrument signals. You can absolutely connect one input to the source and then the two outputs to AUX returns on a mixer which is line level. Care has to be taken with gain staging so it's possible. Not knowing more about your implementation and signal flow, my answer is limited. Contact me direct for more details.

      Hello, Mateo. Thanks for your interest in the Boss DC-2W and Sweetwater Sound! So, your question reminded me of the days long ago when I ran my electric piano (Rhodes or Wurly) through many pedal effects. The short answer is yes, that will work. But, a Korg SV-1 already has a chorus effect built in, so I'd ask the question, why? True, all chorus effects are different, but are you really dissatisfied with SV-1 chorus?
      Hope that helps and anytime you want to talk more I'm always available.

    As you move through the presets, DON'T TALK between them! By the time the next one is demo'd, the listener's ear has forgotten what the previous one sounded like. Should just play thru #1, then immediately play the same thing thru #2, and so on. THEN give whatever explanations you want. Just a suggestion for future (similar) demos.
